Imaginary has some of the most realistic dialogue I've ever read in manga. It feels so real that it almost sounds like the author just filmed his friends having a conversation and then made a manga out of it.
However, can dialogue be TOO realistic? and if it was... would that be a good thing?

I understand and agree with your... criticisms? of the quirks of this first volume of Imaginary. I thought about it, and I believe it's actually a great strength. It really does draw you in to their conversations, and feel more real than an average story. It makes you pay more attention, but also gives a slight feeling of being part of that group, and as such makes you care more about them. I really liked it, and am looking forward to volume 2.

It’s just a little unusual and can be a bit tricky coming into it. But by the halfway point I have to say, I was hooked!

I picked up this manga by chance while just randomly squatting down and the little size caught my eye. I love slice-of-life/romance/drama stuff so this was right up my alley. Yes! I noticed it too how natural their dialogues were and how they go on tangents. For me, it wasn’t annoying, but acc very enjoyable! I might be wrong, but this could be a slow-burner. Hope to be in it for the long run. Maybe hopefully 15 volumes at least? Anyways, can’t wait for Vol. 2 next year :D
Yeah it’s such a pleasant read and the dialogue is really dynamic! Really fun!
And yeah I’m bummed we have to wait so long for the second book but oh well; can’t wait!
