    It's a jam they usually do they said. This was the first thing they recorded when they met up from being in isolation from covid.

    also I don't think it's repetitive at all in a bad way, it's repetitive in that special king gizz way where you'll be saying "drip drip from the tap don't slip" for a month after hearing this masterpiece

      I was blasting this at work and it was a noisy environment so I just kept playing it over and over so I could catch snippets

      I didn't like gizz at first bc I heard nonagon and thought they were too repetitive. It wasn't until I listened to it again on acid that it clicked. I think repetition is a big part of "psychedelic" music bc it's like a trance

    Btw 20:27 is a riff from, if not really similar to a riff in Head on, which I think fits the idea that this gizz song is kinda looking back at their past ways of approaching music.

      Awesome we think that there is so much going on in this song!

    haha how does this not have comments , this song is so good btw, great breakdowns of the king gizz standard sounds and stuff, thanks for doing the entire song too , it's okay that it's a 30 minute video because this song needs deciphering from top to bottom upon first listening, me and multiple people I know have noted that we all got goose bumps listening to certain parts of this song, I mean it truly is psychadelic rock at one of it's peaks!

      agreed! This song needs to be broken down lol, the transitions and the multiple build ups of those shredding guitars are great. One of the best psych rock song/ epic jam session i've hear in recent memory to be sure.

    Sticking to one chord is called a vamp. Fela Kuti used it a lot too.

    Great video! I love seeing people react and give thoughts on king gizzard! I'm a huge fan of this song, you can def hear the influences from other albums of theirs yet it compiles into this 18 minute non stop jam that just works for some reason. I especially love the transitions to Ambros's section. Though tbh I love ambrose and every thing he does so I might be bias lol

    I like to think this is the "radio edit" of this song... Live this likely goes on for 30 minutes + with lots of interwoven solos... Also there's already 2 new singles out for the new album (which also leaked on reddit!), Ice V, and Iron Lung, new album is very jazzy and funky, and very jammy, can't wait for the other two coming out this month, Changes, and Timeland 2!

    All of their music is a various arrangement of sound that creates a void that engulfs you from the start to the end everyone of the albums. Maybe that's pretentious sounding but that's the feeling they give me. The only other band that does this for me is meshuggah

    • @galaxyjams
      @galaxyjams  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We might review Meshuggah next!
