pushit from tool would be right up your ally for sure. cheers
I love your dive into this song you are really insightful
The key to understanding this song is to remember that 'fit' is both past and present tense.
Ironically, this song is about an internally band conflict between Maynard and the Adam, the guitar player. The power struggle was seemingly over the who had final ownership of the band, and Adam won. Now Tool is Adam's band at the end of the day. Maynard wrote the lyrics and showed up to record the song, and they had to have an emergency band meeting to hash out their differences. The line "between supposed lovers" are actually "between supposed brothers", but as a compromise the official lyrics were changed to lovers.
They did end up making it as a band, but I'm not sure their brotherhood ever fully recovered from this stage of their relationship.
I didn't know that! Similar to the idea when I bring up "Keep Talking" by Pink Floyd, it is about strife in the band, not a romantic relationship.
Do you have any links or proof of this? There's a LOT of rumors like floating around but I've yet to see anything concrete or even alluding to this in anything credible.
Disgustipated is about the closest to a gardening song you will get with tool. Don't react to it, just listen on your own time.
The cries of the carrots!
It's the best breakup song ever made !!
Notice the note directly after "dissonance" is dissonant to the rest of the song
a nice little detail!
My suggestion for your next song would be Tool, the Grudge.
Everyone reacts to ‘The Grudge’.
He should react to something like ‘Undertow’-a criminally underrated song that can be analyzed from a few different perspectives, IMO. That would be good.
As far as I can tell if vicarious is the only other tool song that you did so I'm suggesting 46 & 2 if you haven't done that yet seems slightly appropriate
Subbing.. and requesting "Hi Ren" by Ren. I NEED your reaction and have requested the help from a group of Renegades to encourage you.
Great content. Keep up the interesting honest reactions.
I second this! Doing the same and subbing...Renegades let's go!
I think you'd like 46 and 2, its very Jungian.
Right in Two, H, and Lateralus are all great too.
It's also a measure of twelve, but unevenly split into 5 and 7
"4°" is kinda about internal gardening
if you find the pulse, you'll notice the song is actually in straight 6/4. lol
That's why Danny used to say he "feels time differently" when talking about this song...
Did you say “reflectieen”? A reflection, reflecting on itself, maybe?
Looks like you record through some sort of conference call software. Why not just "industry standard" OBS?
I use StreamYard and it's set up for podcasting since I host the "Your Therapist Needs Therapy" podcast, so I just use the same set up for all my recordings
TOOL - The Grudge
Your right David Gilmour is the best guitarist ever 🤘🫡
The confusion over your profession probably is rooted in your apperance. I doubt very few at the original Woodstock festival seemed to be the type you could trust with your sanity. I think it's a cool thing coming around full circle except opposite.
haha, could be, a lot of people work with me specifically because I don't look too stuffy or professional
Did you say “reflectieen”? A reflection, reflecting on itself, maybe?😂
He/him has a nice beard
