24:23 i liked the “all the blood sweat and tears that we put into everything year after year we’re still here” lyric. It makes me think of them talking about how they put so much effort into their albums and still continue to make new stuff and stick around.
Just like one of the chatters in the video said, this is their most relatable album. I love the silly billy, I love the evil-kneevil, I love the hogs and I love the pigeons. The themes and experiences of Sad Pilot really resonate with me as a trans woman. Before I came to terms with it I really did not feel safe in my skin. And it feels like so much of how I live is impossible for even well meaning doctors to really listen to. I just want to get the same treatment as everyone else, and I think that this album hits that nail hard. I am not a political girl and avoid it where I can, but it's hard to be trans in a world where your existence is debated or used as a political tool to push hateful agendas. That's why I love this album so much, it feels like it is just humanizing all the people who get overlooked or oppressed and telling people to get over their differences, and to just love people. It's radical in the way that it totally ignores politics of all kinds and soars above them. I'm not a fan of religion bashing at all, but I can't help but agree with the messages in Daily Blues about faith and the ones who use it to spread hate under the guise of peace and freedom. I think that Raw Feel is kind of a primer for that message, as a reminder that we all experience life differently and the way some people think they know others better than they do. I've been on the receiving end of "christian love" most of my life, and it is nice to just hear that kind of thing called out. S Tier album for me, right up there with Nonagon, Murder of the Universe and Omnium Gatherum.
Your experience with this album is super interesting. Obv everybody projects their own experiences into everything they take in, and I only know my own, but this is super insightful. I love this damn fanbase❤
Hey man I'm glad you loved the album as much as I did. Im a youtube Andy and always appreciate your Gizz content. Great content by you and amazing music from Gizz aside, I just wanted to say I am glad you are mindful of the things that maybe weigh you or I or all of us down sometimes and that your faith and practices are helping you. You preach talking about things that are bothering you so I trust that you are doing that as well and its helping. Also on a side note, every night for the past 2 months I have put my 3 year old to bed telling her that she is important, she is valuable, she is deserving of love, that her parents love her and are grateful for her and I just wanted to thank you for that bc sometimes these things get lost in the day to day but the message is strong and powerful. Even if it these things are presumed, its important to verbalize. All the best Walt
43:30 the timing is pretty cool. Reminds me of how weird the lyrics were in the Fourth Color in Polygondwanaland. Hearing them sing that song live breaks my brain. I bet Dragon in Petrodragonic is also really tough with the latin segments.
Knowing youre an audiophile, if ya ever feeling like dropping money on a Tidal account, they have the Dolby Atmos surround mix of this album on their service and it is *chefs kiss*
Yesss been waiting for this. Glad to have ya back doing reactions. Also if you weren’t watching the live streams during the first leg of the tour all the bootlegs are on bandcamp and as of today are trickling in to Spotify. So amazing
Mirage City i think is less about a mystical place like polygondwanaland or magenta mountain, but more about the mirage of religion. Religion and the shedding of it is a core theme of this album that a lot of people have overlooked. The boys see abandoning religion as a liberating experience: "Im sick of being a scared little cunt who sleeps through all my dreams" "Faith only binds you to ideology--that aint peace and that aint free" This is an album about the thrilling experience of feeling free, taking back control of your life on your own terms, taking the risk, etc.
I wonder if the chimera mention in Mirage City was in reference to the musical inspirations being put together in this piece, or in eeference to the “Chimera Balloon” from Paper Mache Dream Balloon.

Feels like Joey has been going through some shit lately. His tracks this album hit so hard.
must be reinventing himself via the stache

lol at saying beatles every time cookie sings, he really does give that sound on everything. you,ll probably also say beatles on garden goblin too
For Le Risque: Vinyl says its "Steaze" meaning "Style with ease".

I agree and as a Christian gizzhead who otherwise likes this album, it's been annoying lol
Good to see you back on the Gizz! 🤘💚
I hear some ELO influence in the title track, it sounds like 10538 Overture specifically in the beginning, which is really cool to me.
Rats In The Sky is also extremely ELO I feel, like more of a Mr. Blue Sky type of vibe
2 great albums today✅
I got a lot of beatles vibes from this album, one of my faves from them

My king has returned
😂
my gizzard has returned
@@butteredpopcornjellybean7583 you’re bein’ a Silly Billy
Joey's singing quality upgrade for this album needs to be studied
Insane jump in style and attitude
HELL YEA!
Flight B741 was my favorite song off the project.
Top 3 album of Gizz
Whoo vs woo lol
41:20 Honestly I hear more of an ELO sound than Beatles (no hate lol)
27:15 11/4
