My 2016 patriot is having the same issues, i took it to autozone and had it scanned and code P1273 Throttle Actuator Contro System High Airflow Detected. If I change to a new one, does it have to be programmed?
@@ZimaletaMotors my ford fiesta was hunting for an idle and dying out. Took off throttle body. So dirty the flap couldnt close all the way. I bought throttle body cleaner cleaned it thoroughly the car had no issues after that
Clean throttle body but the electronics is in the part that was damaged. Looks like a sardine can . If dented because of accident you will have to buy a new one! Do not move the butterfly plate because it is directly connected to a gear set and you will strip the teeth and it won't work ever again. Clean and replace if it is just caked with dirt and never been in an accident of course!
I replaced my Throttle Body from my Jeep Patriot 2012 and the ETC light still comes on with the Traction Control on. And my cat goes to limp mode. I’ve tried recalibrating it but it doesn’t do crap.. I don’t know what’s wrong with it now. Could it be a Faulty Wiring or something, I look everywhere but nothing on the internet.. everyone seems to have the same damn issue with no solution and it’s frustrating me
@@kaoticone4879 I'm having this same issue with my 2014. I just replaced throttle body and now traction control light is on and the car is driving harder than ever. Turning it off and turns it back on helps just to get home. But unbelievably frustrating.
I've seen several forums that owners said the dealership did the repair and they're still having the same problems. I don't know what's wrong with Jeep/Chrysler that they can't or won't provide a solution.
How did you get to it? Looks like the entire front end is off?😮🤔

Is a rattle sound normal when you shake it?
In mine it was not, it was from accident damage

No programming needed just buy one of Amazon or eBay
Same issue for my 2015 jeep Patriot manual transmission I will try and replace it myself

That’s what I said after bad gas made my throttle body strip out is why is there no recall, I was told it’s not a safety issue
Why would you beat the crap out of the throttle body and then replace it?
Does you're scan tool do everything ?
I have more then 1 scan tool but no not everything
It should be spring loaded and when you open it it should go right back to closed
Well mine was in the accident, so the spring and gear is crushed and damaged

My scan tool will tell you the throttle position the computer is probably recognizing that the throttle is wide-open

You obviously don't know wtf your doing... just replace the throttle body and your isuue would be fixed...

I have the same issue and now getting a code that says invalid data from ecu or something similar. Think maybe the ecu is fried
