This was one of my favorite songs back in the day. For a good blusey rock song Great White had a few. Their songs Rock Me and House of Broken Love have some really cool guitar riffs/solos that grab you and pull you in.

Agree with David Kennedy. He's not with one woman while thinking of another. The point of those lyrics is that he can't even imagine being with someone else when being with her feels so right!! He doesn't want to be with anyone else, just her!! Absolutely one of the best power ballads ever!!

I honestly think that the song is deeper than what you're expecting of just the lyrics. When he says I don't know how I could be with someone else when holding you feel so right... I think that's a metaphor that he chose his career over being at home with his woman that's what most power ballads are about from the '80s it's not about cheating it's not about loving other women it's about not being at home where they belong

Great White has a lot of blues in their songs, and their hit "House Of Broken Love" has an amazing heartstinging love song power ballad with a thick blues groove to it. One of their best songs ever. I highly recommend you checking it out.

This song has a special place in my heart. Part of a mixed tape my husband made for me when we were broken up when we were 16. And now we are separated after 30 years together. So this just gives me feels. Hoping this will pass , midlife crisis is a real thing. But I’m glad you heard this song it’s such a touching song.

Definitely one of my biggest favs of all time
I always took it to mean to that she (his wife/romantic partner and soulmate) has passed away, and so the only place he sees her now is in his dreams, hence the line "Deep in a dream you'll always be, till the end of time". He also feels that she is the only one he will ever love, and so now he is alone for the rest of his life because no one could ever take her place. He thinks about her all the time, and when he wakes from his dreams, he imagines her next to him again, and feels deeply sad when he realizes she isn't. Whenever he's alone, she's all he sees. She's like an apparition that now haunts his dreams and memories, (haunts in a positive way, not in a bad way), the image at end of the music video portrays that very well. The woman is wearing a cape and a hood, and then as she turns and walks away she disappears. There's also a scene where her reflection is in the water, and when he puts his hand in the water, the reflection is gone. That is how the narrator sees her now...that she is always with him...but at the same time she isn't, because she's not in this world anymore. "Save all your love, save your love for me, don't turn your back on me..." basically means that he will never forget her, so he is telling her to never forget him wherever she has gone to, because he believes they will be together again and their love can never end, only go from one life to another.

This band was playing in Rhode Island many years ago where the club went up in flames and killed 100 people, including their guitarist. It was found in court that the club owners and management personnel were responsible and went to prison for the fire.
It destroyed the lead singer mentally and he never recovered from it.
Just a sad situation all around.
Yeah. I'm from RI, as well, and one of my best friends, Lisa, & her friend from work, both teachers, would end up the last two bodies that were found, still holding hands..they Loved this band, "Great White"...They rocked the club that night, up until the awful tragedy, extreme sad. Anyway, this song reminds me of that night.....RIP, to all 100 people who lost their lives, and to all the survivors as well....deep song1

Do you know about the Station night club fire in RI? These guys and the pyrotechnics caused it along with the flammable acoustic foam at the venue. 100 people died.

It's hard for me to listen to them (even though they're great) because of the RI Station fire from their pyrotechnics which killed over 100 people, one of which was a good friend of mine. :( But Rock Me is a banger.
I've always loved this song ❤ very smoooooth. This came out during the Era of hair bands but I'd say they were more respected by critics and definitely had a more bluesy vibe.
