I saw them several times in the 80's.Saw them in the 90's.Jack picked me to sing with him. Most recent was 2013. He picked me again! Could not believe it. Got to meet him and Tony Cardenas after the show. Very nice guys!

You guys played “Pusherman” by Curtis Mayfield a while back and never reacted to him again, I believe the dark theme of that song may have turned you off. He is a very talented singer-song writer. You are missing out on it. That dark song was for the theme of the movie Superfly. A top soundtrack album for that time period. Please check out “Give me Your Love” from that same album. “I’m So Proud” (one of my favorites) and “The People Get Ready” from the early 1960s with the group the Impressions. You have no idea what you are missing out on! This is a rabbit hole you will really appreciate digging into! FYI: He was also a part of Sam Cookes circle.

I liked this group alot when I was young, brings back memories. unfortunately their reputation is overshadowed with Jack’s disgraceful response to the Station Nightclub disaster where his road manager took responsibility for using pyrotechnics that started a fire that killed 100 people, Russell refused to accept any responsibility, the road manager did several years in prison, the victim’s families, many of them now forgive him because he owned up to his mistake and paid for it, unlike Jack Russell, he may not have been the one to install pyro but he was the boss and in my estimate held overall responsibility. in his first concert after the tragedy he tried to dedicate the proceeds to the victims but their families rejected it. what they wanted to hear was Russell admit responsibility and apologize for the tragedy, not throw money at them. I feel sorry for him, I hope one day he finds peace.

Hard to listen to. I’m from RI and ran late to the show. Pulled up on The Station Nightclub Fire with my wife. My love to families, friend we lost and all those effected with life long injuries.
Wow. I'm so sorry to those that were trapped and their fate sealed... so happy that you and your wife were late and as a result... are alive and some of the fortunate. 🙏
Joe, know the feeling, cancelled last minute because I had bronchitis and wouldn't be able to handle the cigarette smoke. Woke up to see the tragedy and a full voice mail box. So many lost for such an awful mistake. Been to many of the fundraisers, it amazes me the strength of the survivors.

I like y'all's chemistry and energy. However, regretfully I have unsubscribed from the channel after joining for about a year. Unfortunately there is very little reactions to soul and funk classics from the 60s thru the 90s. Out of 6 or 7 reactions there may be one

I live about 3 mi from the Station nightclub tragedy that killed 100 people when great white played and a place set on fire. I was looking to go but I couldn't find my friend to go with. If I found him I probably wouldn't be here right now.
