    My brother thought he had a hernia. His doctor said to go straight to the hospital. It turned out to be appendicitis that ruptured formed an abscess and sepsis. It took a month for the abscess to fully drain. The sepsis did more damage to his heart. He lived with a definitely in his chest. He passed away December of 2021. The biggest sign for him was not eating.. I miss him everyday. He had a lot of severe medical problems.

    I was almost 46 years old when I got my appendix taken out. It was early July 2016. It started Tuesday afternoon. It was so much pain on my right side the following morning. Even was hard to walked towards my mother’s vehicle. I was fine in sitting down on a chair or a car seat. I remembered going to the ER with my mother. She was with me just before surgery. It lasted for 3 hours for me. When I woke up in the recovery room that I didn’t know where I was for a couple seconds. I was in the hospital for almost 5 days. I felt liked that I was getting to be my old self after the surgery. I was a little bit weak after the surgery. I was even joking around with the nurses at the hospital. My parents saw me the following afternoon. They both got lost at the hospital. It was my 2nd surgery at the hospital. My 1st was surgery on my left ankle when I broke it in a bad car accident in early March 2012. I had my own private room each time. I thought it was easy for my parents to find the room. It was near the room that I stayed when I had my broken ankle.

      Hey, I started throwing up anything I drink/eat along with bile today. I have pain near my lower right side of the abdomen. It was really hard for me to sit or stand today morning. I went to the doc and she said it could be appendicitis but not confirmed yet. I feel like it is appendicitis. Right now the pain and vomiting is in control with the meds. I just want to know what was the procedure for you? Did you undergo some surgery? I guess I'm going for an ultrasound scan tmrw to confirm.

    Dont limit it to this, but lay down on your back and put your legs up and use your arms to pull them back to you (by your knees), if this REALLY hurts in your appendix area, something is off. Also, tap hard a few times at your appendix spot, if it hurts after tapping it, something is likely off, A doctor told me that.

    I had stomach pain once, and after a few hours at the hospital they said I had Appendicitis. They then sent me to a better hospital in Sacramento, with experienced surgeons, and it turns out I didn’t even have it! This whole experience lasted about 12 hours, but I was just relieved I didn’t have anything major, and it was probably just the aftermath of a sickness I had a week before. Still crazy to think that I could have had surgery for something I didn’t have if they didn’t send me to a different hospital.

    • @llallogen7380
      @llallogen7380 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Vomiting is common with many conditions because it is a non-specific protective reflex. For example, I once experienced nausea and vomiting due to the sheer amount of pain of a cramp or headache. Part of your immune response to various things (like GI inflammation and/or infection) can be the release of hormones/chemokines. Which is awesome, because your body can cause you to vomit something nasty up if you ingested something bad. It just sucks when your body has it wrong, and then you are saddled with nausea but vomiting can't help your condition. Like appendicitis

    I had mine removed at 41. I remember thinking it was just bad gas at first. I even took some gas medication and it kept getting worse and worse. I can be stubborn abut going to the hospital so I waited until I couldnt deny that something was seriously wrong. And it was very painful. At the hospital, sitting was too painful so I laid on the floor until I got in.

    Just had my appendectomy. I was suffering for two days and blaming it on anything else (ovulation, trapped gas, or stomach virus) . I couldn't take it anymore and went to urgent care, they were useless, so i then went to the hospital. I had emergency surgery. I didn't even have much time to be scared because the feeling of pain and nausea was TOO much to ignore.
    My symptoms : EXTREME nausea non-stop, wasn't able to eat anything without almost throwing up and getting the sweats, stomach pains first in middle of belly then mostly right side. I also had severe back pain. I initially thought kidney stones! I knew something was wrong when i lost my appetite, never has that happened before!

But on a positive note, it can be so many other minor things like ovulation, endometriosis, diverticulitis, tummy bug, etc.

    I recall in late June 2019, I was sweating like a pig at my apartment that I currently live in (but I gotta move out sometime in December), and I had a stomachache. So on a Friday, my mom had taken me to the primary care physician, and she suspected it was appendicitis, so my mom took me up to Unity Hospital in Greece, NY for a CT scan. They had to start an IV not just because of the fact they gotta give you this contrast stuff for the CT scan, but it was just in case I did have appendicitis, which, thankfully, the CT scan did not detect. After painfully waiting in that hospital's ER for hours, I was free to get out and get something to eat at DiBella's as I had had nothing to eat or drink (except for water) on that morning (as any kind of scan that involves your abdominal organs require you to have an empty stomach, let alone you needing an empty stomach should an emergency appendectomy be necessary). For want of a nail, If I did have appendicitis and I did have to undergo surgery and it wasn't the laparoscopic procedure (meaning an open appendectomy), I would've had to spend the summer of 2019 being unable to do the things I enjoy doing during the summer, like going to Dave & Buster's for my birthday, go to the 4-H Fair, etc.
