This is a great example of how car manufacturers can make EVs fun
Yup facts
But it will never be as fun as ICE Car.
@kamikaze91ful Well why not? Seriously, give me a good couple reasons
@@fitchyyboi I can understand his reasoning, ICE cars have a feel and an attitude that EVs will never have. ICE cars have a soul. However I completely disagree that EVs will NEVER be as fun, the Ioniq 5, rimac nevera, pininfarina battista, heck even the lotus evija are examples of proof that EVs can be fun
@@siddharthdutta3270 No car has a soul. You're being weird fetishising a car.
coolest EV ever made
Agreed
Most versatile EV ever made!
for real
Just by watching the smiles and laughs tells me this is something I'd enjoy.
as a current N model owner (Kona N), I love what Hyundai is doing with these cars. I really want to return my Kona for an Ioniq 5N, but in Canada this car with taxes is $90k. A little steep. But it looks like an amazing car, and maybe something I can get into down the road.
The Kona N looks like such a fun car. Congrats!
I think these will likely go down in price like all electric cars do after ownership. So I can see them costing around 40k used a year down the line.
I have been asking for this since day one, it’s the soul that’s been missing and why I’ve been disinterested in EVs as an enthusiast. Hats off to Hyundai
I agree with you totally.
Imagine if you could have pre programmed modes for a simulated v8, v10, and v12 respectively. I would be ALL OVER THAT!!!!
@@poppachoppa8956 you can probably figure out how to program it yourself. (If you know what you are doing).
It doesnt have soul either. Its all fake. Its nice touch but it will never be as fun as ICE car.
@@kamikaze91fulu do u
Explaining to kids that cars used to actually sound like that but it was real noise not fake and you could hear it from a mile away.
The one EV I’m actually excited for
Stimulated engine sound could be better; however, they did a good job making this appealing to the younger generation. 💙✌️
Yup that seems like the only major give a way.
They can always add V8 sound
Keyword "younger generation" 😊
I can't stand fake pipe in sound on ICE cars so I won't like it on a full EV car. If I wanted that sound I would get an ICE car, specially a V8. For me the EV6 GT was a better fit and I knew this a couple of months ago when I picked mine up. Also I was going to avoid the crazy pricing for this car as well. It's not worth it to me at MSRP or over. The only thing I wish my car had were vent seats. Well at least I have an opening sunroof which was a must for me.
Man if they'd use something like engine simulator by atg and just offer presets that are than simulated in real time by how you go on the throttle or break. Man that would be cool. But as it stands the ones it already has sound like pure cringe. They're really bad.
They added 4 cylinder audio cause it's "more genuine"
Hyundai IONIQ 5 Nのテクニカル性能は世界最高の電気自動車です。
もちろんオールドなデザインとシャープなデザインもとても良いですね。👍
Good comments 👍
That has to be the coolest EV on the market! Awesome!
Great video. I saw lots of these cars at the Nuerburgring last week. Hyundai even has a new technology center build there😊
Love Hyundai. Just bought mine. Super fun DNA
Just had a job fair at UTI in mooresville. Saw this car and was excited to see the new improvement
13:45 This car is impressive. Moving without its wheels spinning
Never seen so many grown adult giggles in my life before till I watch N 5 reviews.
This is what naturally aspirated hot hatches are all about, if you can even buy one.
@@after_midnight9592 it's EV, not naturally aspirated ICE
@@after_midnight9592 thought they're EVs
B4 I go into retirement, I wanna gift this N to my boys, as they love cars.
People who still believe Hyundai are boring they need a reality check
This looks so much fun
They're not boring. They're just shitboxes that catch fire.

Amazing video miles :) Really your biggest fan.
Miles, the apple carplay is wireless. This has the newer CCNC hyundai infotainment that does come with wireless carplay.
I own this exact car and can confirm. Wireless.
@@OrionDC congrats on the car!
Yes ive been waiting for this ev for years
This is basically a $70k video game, and that is by no means derogatory.

It should be...

Great job. Was curios about the charging port. Was hoping for NACS but it looks like it won't be for another year or so. You're the only reviewer who did a proper walk around and showed it. Thanks!
It even drifts too
Korea gets soo much more options, like pano glass roof, digital rear view mirror, etc 😅😭
And the options you can choose are Alcantara. HUD is included by default in Korea
@@otdkfunny thing is that you get a HUD in Canada but not in the US smh.
Coolest ev around right now. Wonder if the owner had to pay a YUGE dealer markup? Great review!!
This is my car that’s miles reviewed.. took some back and forth especially with the markup they originally gave me but thankfully I didn’t it
@@Qball1754i hear from N community that if you lets Nsocal steps in when you buying this car , dealer won’t markup like crazy.
@@Qball1754 Well done! Cool car, Enjoy!
Can confirm they will try to mark it up like crazy. I just drove mine home after 9 hours at the dealership...😩 This dealer was definitely a particular pain, but it sounds like all of them are trying to mark up $20k+. This dealer's website, and a chat with a rep, said it's for sale at the MSRP of $68k. So I drove on in to test drive it.
First thing through the door, they won't let you test drive without a purchase commitment. I would not have liked that, but I already had an EV6 GT so I knew I would love the car and had an idea of how it would drive (minus all the cool N features). So then we get to talking numbers...and the payments were out of this universe compared to my calculations/expectations. Then they just casually mention "oh yeah it's a $94,000 car" and point to a mark-up of $30,000 over MSRP. I laughed and haggled with them. They tried to convince me that it's super rare, and that they had multiple people who want to buy it at that price. I laughed and told them I'd happily buy it right now at MSRP. They said $25k above MSRP is the best they could do. I told them they should definitely sell it to whomever is willing to pay that, and I walked on out...
They called me not 5 minutes later while I was on the freeway home and said they'd take $25K off the mark-up if I come back in 💀. I told them I'd walk in and sign right now at MSRP. They said no, there has to be a least a few grand markup but to come back in and we'll figure it out. Drove back and they held firm at a $5k markup when I told them I'd do it at a $2k, so I walked out a second time and parked in a nearby lot, hoping/thinking they would call back. They didn't, so I called back and was actually able to work it down to a $3k mark-up out the door. Would have loved MSRP, but I wanted the car too bad lol.
Gotta say; I'm honestly glad I didn't test drive it til after we had negotiated numbers...I would have lost all will and given them whatever they wanted 🤣. This thing is unbelievably fun; words and video don't do it justice. You have to drive it and experience the shifting and sound to truly appreciate it.
Thanks you David
this color combo looks so nice too...
Love this! All performance EV's should integrate paddle shifters, engine sounds, etc... very cool. Though would love to option to switch between more realistic/authentic engine sounds. Ex. Lexus LFA, Carrera GT, 812 Superfast, Hellcat, Murciélago, F1, Mustang GT350, C8 Z06, Ferrari 458, etc.
nah man, you gotta buy this thing. Would be great addition to this channel.
0-100 3 sec and 0-200 10 sec with one EV of category can do this numbers
This is one of the best EV's out there... but I definitely still prefer the ICE powered cars like the I30 N..
This and the Dodge Charger EV look great and I can't wait to see more of them
This is just a cool vehicle!😮 Some great implementation of soul. The look is, maybe a bit to 60's bread van? It's still a well-done presentation. I could buy this.
Just watch the the track performance that misha had with it on the Nürburgring. It was an amazing drive especially with the other ioniq 5n, the m2 and all the cars on track
They are not brembo - they're made-in-house hyundai calipers which is impressive too.
Dodge needs to take notes for their charger srt ev
I think the great part is that im sure you will be able to get an aftermarket exhaust sound fitted to it, if you dont like the standard ones.
Not an EV guy but I really am impressed. If EV’s go in this direction I really wouldn’t mind having one.
My vote for your Black wing replacement! lol!!!
So does this car emulate those same sounds for the exterior? Or is it only something you hear within the interior?
It would be funny if you could choose the sound frop speakers between I4 I5 I6 V6 V8 V12 and so on ))
I’m not the biggest ev fan but this is pretty cool
It looks like a cyberpunk 2077 CAR and I'm here for it - I'd definitely aim to get one by the end of the year over here IN the UK
Wow 70K for a Hyundai. Cool tech. Hope VW does this with their EV GTI.
Epic video❤. But I would like to ask when will the asmr pov drives will be coming back
Luv mine, luv my buttons. Got another 2 compliments on her again today. People just can’t stop staring at the matte blue :) sooooo much fun, even just going to get groceries.
I look forward to the sequel to this wonderful car.
IONIQ 5 N, the 04 STI, and a K24 + TYPE-R swapped EG hatch are my 3 dream cars. I could probably kick the snot out of myself in both the 5 and the sti with that K24 hatch on the togue and track, but whatever I just want this for it's versatility and range. I'm also getting sick of fumes and the smell of oil being an every day thing.
Would've been cool if you checked the jet sound in the menu while you were chaging gears, it makes a supersonic boom
And brakes to simulate the boom.
I like Your Video's Milesperhr
They need to add the sound and redline functionality as an OTA update to all Ionic 5’s and 6’s.
I call it dynamic feedback. It's critical for driving engagement and safety. ANYONE who has ever driven a car hard or tracked one understands this on a fundamental level. The sound will evolve over time to the point that it's imperceptible to an ICE vehicle. The important part is they've pretty much perfected the recreation of interia and feel right out of the gate. These guys are progressive and deserve more credit, but they don't because of lingering stigma that's been outdated for over a decade+.
Hyundai knows what drivers want in performance and enjoyment
Can you charge these EV’s with a 110v or do they require a 220v?
We're riding with ya.
This is one of the best reviews of this car I’ve seen thank you . An Aussie by the way shame that politicians in your country stop some of the best from China can’t get there .
Because chinese products is really trash
What they could have done is made open for developer and people could add different types of exhaust
It's weird?
5N sold in Korea is called Vision Loop
It has a sunroof fixed all over the roof,
Unlike Tesla, it opens and closes back and forth
There's a roof cover...
Can't I even choose as an option in the US?
The vision roof is only on the Limited trim in the US. It's nice but I prefer a pano opening roof instead.
You it's new age when hyundai just causally drops a 600+ hp beast lol
Can one use the Tesla SuperChargers with the Ionic 5N? I'm not going to track the car, I'll use it for a daily vehicle..
Not until the first quarter of 2025, but after that, yes, Hyundai owners can use the Tesla network
Hyundai and kia down play their EPA range. I also get 0ver 245 miles in my kia Ev6 GT.
Would be nice to have a sunroof option. I know they take it out for performance reasons, but I imagine its a negligible difference to all but the most absolute hardcore of potential buyers. Even then its likely just a placebo effect. I could see if a car weighs in the mid or upper 2000s, but at 4500+ or whatever this is nobody is noticing a difference.
They have glass roofs as an option in most other countries, just not North America. Others also get HUD standard.
I wish Hyundai N could also focus on making hydrogen ICE like how Toyota did with the race car Corolla or do something with synthetic fuels. Their N cars are why I have an Elantra N.
FINALLY, a car company who figured out the sounds for an electric car. I was hoping BMW would do it but THANK YOU HYUNDAI for figuring it out. Figure out the adding 100 more miles of range, I would buy one.
I want it
Can you also hear the simulated sound of gear shifting from outside?
It would be better if people outside the car could hear it too, so that other people know that there is a car nearby.
As for the sound, it's best to just use a revving sound like Formula E, don't need a V6/V8 sound, etc. so that it still has the identity that it's an EV car.
yeah! The sound of an EV car with gear shifting is more than enough. because it wouldn't be too deceptive. perhaps EV sound with low tones/bass and transmission simulation mode is the best choice.
I saw a all gray one
My dream car but is it worth 80k before taxes in Canada? :/
7D Reality gaming pad. :)
Imagine having some form of propulsion which used a liquid in a tank to make it easy to fuel up in seconds and, as a side effect, made a noise. We could call it an "Internal Combustion Engine". That way we wouldn't need sound effects. Something to think about!
Where are you from
great car
There IS a sunroof option, and apple carplay and android auto ARE wireless in the IONIC 5N
The sunroof option is only elsewhere like in Korea but not the US.
@@volcalstonein Europe we can order the sunroof, no problem
@@DavidV328 cool but yeah I said elsewhere. I'm not sure why the US market always gets the short straw on cars. Like in the EV6 as we don't get the active matrix headlights and sequential rear turn signals.
This one or BMW i4 M50?
Still waiting for the what like to leave with the rolls Royce cullinan
what is that lag at 5:18 bro
IONIQ 6N, an upgraded sedan, will be released in 2026
If only it weren’t a 70k Hyundai! That price is insane!!!
Agreed. It's overpriced out of the gate and then dealerships are charging another $20,000 to $30,000 over MSRP in the US. Not worth it at all.
That level of performance warrants the pricing.
@Powers242 the car is 66k or somewhere around there
Why would they only make it sound like a 4 cylinder? There should be V6, V8, V10 & V12 options too.
Waiting for it to hit the used market.
I would never buy any EV, except probably this one. Its a little more expensive than it should be though. Buying a used EV doesn't seem like a good idea either. $60k is wild. The 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds is fun for sure!
You're above the law.
The Car issss playing with your Mind.
Just a Illusion
on camera it does look more hatchey, but i'd have to see the height in person to be sure
It's a hatch person no matter the height. They're only calling it an SUV to sell them quicker in the US.
This is cool but prices have to come down... or range has to at minimum double while staying the same cost.
yeah for sure
❤
When you see the back you can't hide the fact it's still an SUV, shifting mod and sound is nice touch, but it sound a bit weird and little fake.
They need to add a fake gear lever and a fake clutch pedal xD plus add a litlle sound you you shift without the clutch.
I would love this to be my first EV but man it’s expensive. Even if I put 10k down it’s out of reach. Someday I guess.
So 3.2s + 0.3s for a 1ft rollout = 3.5s 0-60mph time.
crazy to see you here tf
pls drive one for the dragy time
@@ryudraco Why is that crazy?😂 I'd be curious to drive one, If I can find one here
Would be even better if they made a simulated manual transmission with clutch pedal and all. I’d be all over that
Toyota is working on that
@@whosdondada yes. Can’t wait. Lexus first right? Gonna be so cool. Hope they make it a good EV too (good thermals, fast charging, etc). I’m getting one either way.

Time to beg my mom to buy me 1
My only problem with this car is that it only has 8 speakers for a nearly 90k$ car
Crazy how it’s taken this long for an electric car to do something like this
New Balance 方向盤😂
I like what they've done, but the interior is shockingly low rent. I'll stick with my Polestar 4 order!
There’s no Brembo brake in the 5N
They could have made it sound like any engine configuration... So they chose a turbo-4?!
You can understand this by looking at the development process of this technology.
This isn't just a technology developed for sound. In the process of running many rolling laps by N Motorsports racers, professional drivers gave feedback that electric vehicles felt slower than their actual speed and that it was difficult to identify acceleration/deceleration points. So, this is not a technology developed just for fun, but its purpose is to simulate the 4-cylinder 8-speed DCT installed in N Motorsports' ICE-based racing cars. And in fact, racers say that this technology helps them reduce lap times.
I fcking love it 😂
Only ev id ever drive or buy
