So how much did WATA pay you for this one?

Won’t sell them for that much, it’s just an imaginary price put out by a grading company hoping to pass the “investment” on to you. Most people refuse to sell their collection and hold onto an overvalued product, but when it comes to selling them they don’t have buyers. It’s all just a scam. Very few will pay for a sealed copy and even fewer sell because it’s hard to do so.

As someone who's collected comics and video games for over two decades now, the big difference is a graded comic book is graded on everything from front to back, page by page. These graded sealed games are only graded on the wrapper and box, because you're not actually opening and checking the condition of the game, board, and battery. If you know SNES almost all of them have save batteries and if you know batteries sealed or not they all leak overtime which means corrosion on the inside. Also if you've been collecting for awhile you know there's oldheads out there that have cases of SNES and even some NES carts tucked away, they use to post that stuff on the Nintendo forums back in the day.

About the comic book comparison: Unlike rare comics, there are 10's of thousands of CIB copies of most of these games out there. They're just not sealed with plastic.

Super Mario World was my first ever video game. I had a tough childhood but the delight it brought to me. Im 35 now and doing well in life this really warms my heart. I would gladly put that in my office!
Is there a way to find out how much a graded video game is worth on paper? and what could be a good way to sell these as an investor?

Fantastic! You believed in the art and beauty of a sealed video game back in 2012 when a lot of people were paying attention. That...in itself...is incredible for its historical preservation sentiment. Cheers!

I don't get how any of these games are worth that much money. Considering that these are the most popular ones too. Shouldn't games be worth more if the number put out by the developers is quite small? Like Hagane for instance?

Who the hell in their right mind would want buy, let alone collect anything thats in a wata case. The games alone graded from wata are inflated ridiculously high and are not worth what the sellers ask for. Any time anything is in a wata case you can find the exact same thing in better condition for thousands of dollars less ungraded

It's absolutely pointless collecting anything that you're not going to use. Even moreso if it's intrinsically worthless tat that happens to be in fashion at the moment. Its a "good" way for people to get into debt.
