best concert I've ever had the privilege of was mayhem w inquisition for the dmds anniversary tour I say w no exaggeration that the whole floor was a nonstop pit for inquisition's entire set can't imagine another two beings making any more possible noise

Another thing on that Inquisition album: TDMG noticed a similarity to “Wanted Dead or Alive” in that one song. Well, speaking of 80’s songs, I’m getting a strong “Children of the Sea” (Sabbath/Heaven & Hell) vibe from the instrumental “Pathway of Light is a Pathway to Fire”.
It hadn’t even crossed my mind to consider the title as part of a serious artistic statement from Inquisition, that was a really enjoyable deep dive. I think it can be said that Inquisition is trying to put themselves amongst the “Trve Kvlt” school. Concerned with nothing else other than writing the same type of really cool song and being about black metal for its own sake. That’s been a tradition which has fallen by the wayside with all this NSBM RABM shlock. As for Narbeleth, I just need to spend more time with them, I approve of it but it doesn’t ever click with my tastes, a little bit too indirect.

That’s the only place I’ve listened to it so far, so I’ll need to listen elsewhere for better perspective. I got into Inquisition in the early 2000’s when Nathan T. Birk used to laud them heavily in Metal Maniacs. These new melodic ideas that Dagon is trying are very cool & add another dimension to their tunes.
Edit: I checked it on Spotify again, I think they fixed whatever was wrong. It definitely sounds much better than when I first heard it. Same here. I've listened to it once so far when it was released and I stopped before the middle of the album, I couldn't stand the production and this RARELY happens to me and I say this as an Ildjarn and power electronics/noise listener haha.
Good ear! I was going for the rhythm guitar part to the "I Am The Black Wizards" chorus, but I started w/ that flourish halfway through, which basically IS the "Nightspirit" riff. Your latest comment got autodeleted or something - I see it in my notifications but can't find it under the video or reply. Re. clicking: my bad, I'm used to a trackpad which is basically silent, but I just got a USB mouse. We'll always need to look stuff up on the fly, but I'll try to remember to use the trackpad. - TBMG

Yeah check out Dagon’s YT Channel “Ancient Cult” @InquisitionCeremony. He posts some never before heard demos of an inquisition album before all the mix and mastering, trying out random stuff with his guitar, his sample song from his DS project, etc.
