It's so funny and unusual to watch a channel about fixed gear bikes and then to see man on the slightly other part of globe - I'm from Ukraine, Rivne region - found 1:1 the same bike that my father have got from his work trip to Europe in like 2000 (he was a truck driver and didn't bother to just pick up bikes he saw :D). My father died next year after that, and recently I thought like wow, I have to find and restore that bike completely - as not many things are left that remind me of my father. It took me some efforts but I've found it and prepared for total restoration. Luckily, it doesn't have so much rust, and has almost all of the original details. :)
@@addvurtbikes youtube just deletes any link I put... Now, if I look closer, I can see slight frame differences - looks like different year of production or something. Your version has metal logo as well, which is nice. My bike also has built-in lock on back wheel. I could not manage to make a duplicate key! Master said that the key is so unique and it will be very expensive so it refused to do it :D Strange.
Yeah, it's similar, but oh my gosh the bullhorn has so much more space. I can fully grip any point on a 30 centimeter stick with my entire hands, whereas on the hoods are just one spot and my pinkie is always touching the drops.
Thank you so much! Honestly Shrek rides better than Tom Bombadil, my other garbage bike :D But that's because Tom's cranks and pedals are so messed up.
Most people prefer riding with handbrakes, I guess, and that is where I see a weakness with the bullhorn bars. Where do you put the brake levers? TT-style levers at the bar ends? With additional in-line brake levers? Or normal brake levers on the flat part?
The shrek series of videos is better than anything on netflix, can't wait for the next one
Bullhorn handlebar user here. Thanks for your kind words of my ways
Nice! Do you have hand brakes on them? What kind of riding do you do with them?
So glad you saved this bike and you're having fun with it.
Same here :) It's been a great time trying to fix it!
Bullhorn bike has me none stop laughing, it's so amazing!
Happy to hear it! I had the same reaction actually :D
The bullhorns look fun on it, and the angle of the horns works well with the rest of the frame’s flowing curves!
True! It was meant to be, I think :)
The Shrek 5 we've all been waiting for 😅 What a series you've created. Shrek is evolving nicely
Thank you so much! Part 6 is coming very soon ;)

WOW! That's incredible! Can I see pictures?

That swamp bike has a whole new life now. It looks like is putting on some weight too 😅
Yeah, I've been feeding it the good stuff lately! Trocadero and onions, that is.
@ I welded a top tube on a similar girls bike and it looks really good.
The riser bar looks very nice :D
Yeah, it's a clean look, isn't it?
the bullhorn position is like when you have drop bars with the hoods
Yeah, it's similar, but oh my gosh the bullhorn has so much more space. I can fully grip any point on a 30 centimeter stick with my entire hands, whereas on the hoods are just one spot and my pinkie is always touching the drops.
That's really cool that the Shrek bike still drives so well
The bull horns are like they were made for Shrek 😁have a great day love your videos😄

Kühl!😊
Thänk you!
Riser bars are good. And I do want to try bullhorns sometime in my life.
The risers are really good. Yeah, I strongly recommend bullhorns for a bike without hand brakes, as they will make it more tricky.
The bullhorns look so sick - Could also try to have them the other way around for a more cruisy/backsweep type?
Yeah, that’s a good idea, but it would be really tight on this bike.
next we let sam pilgrim durability test it 😂
100%

Yeah, you're right, it's a little bit trickier with hand brakes. The people that I know use it are mostly fixie riders, so that makes sense.
i have standard mtb levers mounted on the horn, largely replicating the ‘on the horns’ position of a drop bar
bikes.. handlebars!
And books!
Which bars will you go with?
What the hell is a disco servwa?
I don't know about disco servwa, but you should probably listen to the song Disco Snails!
not the first but first to say first
That's three firsts! Thanks for the comment :)
I would join you there but Discord's UI makes me want to vomit the second I see it.
I understand. Is there a specific part about it that you don't like? I think it's perfectly normal and usable.
