Oh wow, I googled it and that looks good! There was an another comment saying that I could put on the bullhorns backwards, that would kinda be the same. Kinda :D
I was watching you coming up to the 90 degree turn thinking, oh this feels unsafe and then.. bam. You sound like you're a scientist by training. No one is as crazy as a natural scientist with a hobby.
Haha, yeah it was sketchy! I'm not working with science or research, but maybe I should? I have a bachelor's degree in linguistics, but I left uni for a job before finishing my master's.
@addvurtbikes yeah they're smaller than the bars that usually have a bulge in the middle. Time to save a kids bmx bike that also lives in a swamp perhaps? 😆
Naming bikes is fun! But Shrek is probably the first name that really actually stuck. And it’s the first one that I mention by name in a video. It was suggested in a comment, I didn’t invent it myself :)
@@addvurtbikes Yes! First initial of the name is the type of bike it is. I'll share a link to my bikes with names below. When i was a teenager in the 80s with a second-hand 10-speed with drop bars, for a while I rotated the drop bars about 135 degrees so the were up kinda like bull horns. Turned the brake handles 180 degrees and rotated them to the new bottom-side of the "drop bar" and now I could easily do long wheelies. Good times.
Great success! But I'm still confused about how that handlebar works on the junk bike. The steer tube comes all the way up through the headset, and has a slot cut in it and a pinch bolt just like a seat tube? This gives me an idea for your next project: the backwards bike. Swap the seat and the handlebar, and then you can ride backwards and steer by wiggling your bum :)
Yeah, that sounds right. I don't think the diameters are the same, but it's a great idea! Either sitting backwards, OR sitting on handlebars and steering by turning a saddle :D
Lose the drop bars and go with the black riser bar you showed last. The sweep should be way comfy. While you're at it get that bottle generator off the front rim.
Beautiful but really messy. Not what I was hoping for really, but then again, every other Ghibli movie has grown on me with time, so I'm not saying I won't love it at some point. How about you? You wanna discuss more movies? Join the discord :D
Today I found an old bicycle, probably lying in the forest for a decade ( Normally I wouldn't make the effort to take it with me, but since it was built before the Second World War I might save-restore it ).

Yeah, that might be effective, but I think it has the same problem as the aluminium shim here. Just not the right type of problem. All good now, anyways :)
Swamp Bike + drop bars = tour de France winning bike
Yes! Is the 2025 tour fully booked yet? They have no idea what's coming!
that gotta be the perfect ending. all the new garbage bike needed was a little help from its elder. beautiful story telling symmetry this.
It certainly ended on a positive note! :D Yeah, it's a nice twist that I have been riding around with the solution forever :D
Shrek needs a Nitto Albatross bar.

This really turned out well that i expected! Truly spectacular my man!
Right? I'm supper happy :) Thank you!
The narrow riser bars would go great on there, but it’d be very cool to see it with bullhorns!
We might have to test them both :)
Hell yeah! Get some bmx bars!
Most BMX bars have a really weird diameter for the clamp, don't they?
@addvurtbikes yeah they're smaller than the bars that usually have a bulge in the middle. Time to save a kids bmx bike that also lives in a swamp perhaps? 😆
I love how you name your bikes too. All my bike have names too! Mine are named Karl, Skinny Greg, Fat Albert, Freddie, Frank and Felicia.

By the way is there a logic to your names? Only one has a woman’s name.

Felicia - Fixie Bike
Greg - Gravel
Karl - Klunker
Frank - Fat Tire

Ey, just came across your channel, keep makin videos bro! Fellow bike enjoyer!!
Thank you very much! New one uploaded now just for you my friend!
The handling on the shrek bike at the beginning looked so sketchy. Well done taming the beast
Haha thanks! Yeah it was scary but now that’s all in the past! It rides really nice now :)
Awesome!! I love these so much. Long live Shrek
Thank you my friend! Long live Shrek!

That sounds awesome! Sounds like something I should try actually.
@@addvurtbikes I'd love to see it!
drop bars look awesome on shrek
They do, don't they? So many good options.
i like the chrome risers
I think they are winning if I’m counting comments!
Give Shrek a sword for handlebars :)
Ahh, yes, genius! Or maybe Darth Mauls double lightsaber?
I am a simple man, I see a bicycle video. I watch and like and comment!
Thank you very much! I'm gonna check out your videos too!
Vote for the shiny risers
Shiny risers seem like the most requested one so far.
Swamp bike is looking Good 😊
All that goo was great for the paint!
Great! Things are being figured out. Good to see. They both look good. Hurraaaaay!
Thank you! I'm feeling very much at peace now that we have reached this stage.
maybe you could put the bullhorns backwards and upside down making them into swept backs :D
Very, very tempting. If I put them on, even just for testing, I have to ride like that for a while.
Give Shrek the drop bars but rotated 180 degrees forward.
*Taking notes*

The silver riser bars would look like shreks ears if you got green grips. Just sayin 😂
You're right!!! That's awesome :D
lol trying to barspin while holding the front wheel in place
It’s genius, isn’t it?
groundbreaking innovation

Yeah, the generator is coming off!
What did you think to the boy and heron?

the narrow one would fit in very nicely, maybe consider bmx bars like the other commenter said.
Yeah! But doesn't BMX bars have a very specific diameter?
❤️🚲❤️
Love cycling!
Long live Shrek
Long live Shrek!
I wanna see a guy in a fully stretched out riding position riding to get some trocadero ! Bull holes would look amazing
Yeah, we all deserve to see that one day.
Long live Shrek the bike!
Love live Shrek!
Long live the Shrek bike 😄

+1 for bullhorns
Noted!

you should paint the bike green since hes shrek lmao
Hehe, yeah, if I had green spray, why not. But the red color is nice, too.

Another lovely video
Thank you my friend!
Polish your metals.
But that’s a lot of work!
