Thx. Had to reset the N9 (android M) on recent "android update August security Patch". The UI came into a bootloop, and it allways started with "NFC did stop working". Anyway it kept repeating continuously. Recovery was the best option to hold that booting sequence. formatting took more 1/2 hour and that is what's odd what you do when doing format in 4". Is your N9 a 16 gb or 32gb version? My HTC is as old as any other N9 bought it when it was released.

I installed the new OTA update 2 days ago, and been in the infinite loop all day. I left it on while I went to work and it was still stuck when I got back.
I did the reset as shown here but it is still not passing the flying dots.
What's my next move? use update via adb with a factory image?
if I can get this thing working, I'll get rid of the damn thing and get me a surface 3.

I recently did a flash of my phone (nexus 5) using Lollipop from an image (developers site), everything went well as I followed the instructions. The final step I needed to do was a factory reset in stock recovery. Is this process that you showed here the same? Will this reset revert my nexus to 4.4.2? If you can, will you be able to do a video of this, or maybe provide a link?

Stagnationify no it will not that will only wipe the data on the android version you are on right now

hello i did this reset on my nexus 9 to wipe it because im selling it and now ehen we go into storage it says 11. gb total storage... any comments? did my storage just dissapear.?

Hey, my issue is while I was updating to Android N, my Nexus 9 wont boot up, it get stuck on the "google" logo. I tried your methodmto wipe data but no luck. It just stuck on the google logo. The bootloader is locked. Any solution?

My Nexus 9 gets stuck at starting aps after update to Lollipop 5.1.1, done several factory resets and sometimes it get stuck at the spinning dot or at starting apps!!!???

BF30Duca yes mine did that two witch is really weird. but after flashing the files a couple times and wiping data it finally booted.

Factory data reset does not kill Factory Reset Protection for like new to resale. DEVICE LOCKED. DAM.
