    Great wallet love it... You can also rub bees wax into the edge of leather then burnish it with friction a rag and the bees wax will melt into the leather...

    Love this! And just to be a know it all, the holes aren't purely esthetic. They keep the slits from tearing as they catch the pull and dissolve it. 😁

    I made my purse pal roday it turned out great , I did it in all cork, I love it, I love that is slimline also, only thing i did different was the snap I made mine wider as I didnt like that it showed my cards to much, my next one I will make it a bit deeper so the slip pocket is deeper, as I think our bank notes in the UK are taller and certain denomanations ( £20 notes ) stick out the top more lol

    This maybe a stupid question, forgive me. This is my first time working with a pattern using just vinyl. If you’re using cork or vinyl do you still need to use the leather glue and paint?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then stick with the fabriTac but yes you still need an adhesive of some sort. I personally just like the finished look of edge painting but you don’t have to. I would recommend rubbing a clear drying glue to those edges however to avoid the fabric backing of those materials from popping out over time with use.

      I don’t actually have a kam press. Mine is from goldstar tool so their dies are not compatible with a kam press. You’ll want to reach out to them and ask what die you need for a 12.5 mm spring snap.

      I don’t understand the question 🤔. I pull them to the back the same way I do for the card slots. Just gently tug on one of the thread strings from the wrong side until you get a loop, then pull the loop through to get both threads to the wrong side and tie.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would NOT use fleece. Flannel should be fine. You really just want a material that is as thin as possible so it doesn’t get super thick as you fan fold it for the card slots.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Anything lightweight like quilting cotton or broadcloth would work. You can use pinking shears along the edges to prevent fraying but honestly, the card slot edges get pretty well sealed when the leather edges are glued so its a moot point (but does get asked)

      Can’t say that I’m familiar with their snaps but as long as it’s a “spring snap” or a “fashion snap” it should be fine. You just want to avoid heavy duty snaps designed for thick leather projects etc.

      Thanks! I get mine by the yard from Ningbags but they closed the end of 2021 to prep for a wholesale model of business so I’m not sure when they will be opening back up. Their zips are 2 way zips which I prefer. I don’t sew over the metal teeth, I remove the extras on the ends to keep them out of the seam allowance. • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      For my vinyl or cork makes I use fabriTac 👍🏻. Move quickly though because it dries FAST!

    Hi. Where do you buy the landscaping fabric? This exact textured leather?

      Click the little arrow below the video to the right, it’ll open up the video description where all the supplies and where I got them are listed. The landscaping fabric comes on a 40” roll from Home Depot.

    What weight and kind of leather do you use if you don’t mind me asking? I looked on Tandy and holy cow (pun intended)

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to stick with one that has a firmer temper and keep it 2-2.5oz or less. The layers can add up and get quite thick if it’s any thicker than that.

      Eco weld from Tandy leather. It’s a water based adhesive.

      Check out peggysuealso on Etsy. She has every leather under the sun and small project piece sizes that would be perfect for this.
