  • This video tutorial is to supplement the written PDF pattern that can be found at lindshandmade.com
    I'm using a juki DU-1181n in the video but testers have made one just as easily on their domestic machines. The exterior fabric is Botanist's Essay from the Bloomsbury Collection by Bari J for Art Gallery Fabrics. The waterproof canvas is from Fabric Wholesale Direct.

    Hello! I just wanted to say that I finished this backpack a few weeks ago. It turned out so adorable. I took it to Florida with me and it was so cute but also very functional. I like that! The zipper pocket that you said is good for a phone and easy to get to was so accurate. I loved it. Thank you so much for the video and answering all my questions. Ellen

    Great video and pattern! I’m not using WPC and I want to make my own 1/2” bias tape with the same fabric that I am using instead of the WPC. Should I stabilize it with SF101 and/or Decovil light before cutting the strips or just use the fabric without the stabilizer(s)?

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If not using WPC for your lining you will definitely need to interfacing all pieces, for sure. As for the bias tape, you’ll need to do a four fold to prevent fraying so definitely do NOT interface those strips.

    Hello~ I was reading the supply list for this bag, and it does say decovil light. Is that what type of interfacing you used on your cotton main fabric for this video or is that for the interior? I do see that woven interfacing is mentioned in the supply list and I guess that is what you have interfaced to your outer material?? Just want to make sure I buy and use the correct materials. I plan on using WPC for the interior. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the decovil light for the exterior piece of the front pocket only if I’m doing WPC for the lining and qc for the exterior. All qc pieces are interfaced with a woven interfacing.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yay! Congrats! I don’t have a specific video tutorial for just vinyl but I mainly make all mine out of vinyl to avoid added interfacing 🥴. It doesn’t change much of the construction. The main difference I can think of off hand is that I don’t line the backside of the exterior back vertical pocket because I don’t have to with vinyl, lol. Or were you referring to CLEAR vinyl?? That’s different. I have a highlight reel saved on Instagram showing how I do my clear LindSports.

    For bag for a 5 or 6 year old, how long would you recommend straps be??

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly I would keep them as written because they are adjustable so you can fully tighten them and they’d still fit and allow them to grow into it. If all else fails, when you go to add the hardware, before securing them with rivets or stitching, try it on for size and shorten them if needed.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns

      Since all the pattern pieces are included, you can increase the percentage for printing but you may need to take it to a print shop due to them then printing too large to fit on the 8x11 sheet of paper.
