This seems like needlessly many engines and logic gates. You can do full skid-steer with three engines and an A/D converter, though you need 3 bearings for each wheel so your wheelbase can not be lesser than 5 blocks. Basically the first engine connects to the seat and drives the outermost bearings giving normal forward/backward drive, then you take the second engine and connect it up to the middle bearings on the left side and the inner bearings on the right side and to the left side of the A/D converter, then you take the third engine and connect it to the middle bearings on the right side and the inner bearings on the left side and the right side of the A/D converter. Make sure that the inner bearings are inverted and all the others are in the driving direction and you are all good. This is the most compact way to do it I've seen yet and it's probably easier for beginners as it doesn't involve logic gates. I do like the WASD converter though, cool idea! Here's some images of an example of the way I did it: imgur.com/a/yaKdtmg Happy engineering to you!
For the quality of this video, I would have thought you had a ton of subscribers! Almost like you had over 500,000 subs! You make very good quality videos, and the WASD converter is awesome!
@@ProfNCognito there is a tank stearing with 2 less motors and wsad stearing with only one hinge / without a second motor ... i will have a look in both and try to understand why one needs logic gates and the other just does it with 3 e motors :) ... want the link ?

I'm having a problem. When I make tank steering no matter what the tank looks like when I connect the 4th electric engine to a button my game freezes when I put it on lift. any idea why?
i feel like i am missing a step here. i've redone this five times and i can't go forward or backward. I can only turn. o.O In fact i KNOW something got left out. because the gas is not even being expended while trying to move. i thought for a moment that i was too heavy but that seems to not be the case. it just...won't go. it'll turn but not move forward or backward. o.O
each side has a forward and backwards set of bearings. scrap mechanic seat wont work that way trying to just use on engine. its a game mechanics thing.
after making this I would give you this tip: the first initial one for the converter *must* be electric for it to properly stay in place otherwise gas will swing it about and glitch (for whatever reason that is im assuming to much torque and electric is constant power over gas is gradual) but the other ones for wheel and such can be gas but may look wacky but still function
No 7 minutes of talking, just straight to the point. This is what i call a tutorial
i dont even play the game yet but you have my like
This guy deserves more recognition. Keep up the good work!
You can use logic block as engine to wasd converter
Edit: i mean the one what allows you to connect bearings sorry for misleading
Very clean and straightforward tutorial. Excellent content, well done!

Nice I'll try it out and maybe I'll do an update vid

Thanks alot I'll keep makiing them then.
@@ProfNCognito lol please do! I enjoy the videos.
Holy damn thank you so much, this is such a good tutorial!!!!!!
No problem glad it helped
What if you don't have WASD? Hm? Hm? Nice Video bro.
what a brilliant human!! thank u
This hurt my brain a bit making it... but it works amazing!! Thx
Your brain is stronger now!
I wish it worked for me, :/
I wish i knew how to help. Not sure how you hooked things up. 😞
“bang on that real quick”
hmmmm
mammoth tank assembled
i improved the stuff u showed me ... i have to say thx and ill doo it by leaveing u likes instead of going to main stream streamers
Much appreciated!

I have almost got this working. I can't press forward and left/right - it just goes forward. When I try to reverse the left/right is backwards lol
once i tried inventing this on my own but i forgot that i can use this specific block collision
I'm your 323 sub and thanks for help

Have you tried verifying your files?
@@ProfNCognito what do you mean?
Right click and verify otherwise its a scrapmechanic bug.
@@ProfNCognito ok it works now thanks!!

Nice! Now do it for a flyer with your gyro incorporated into it...

For some reason my vehicle flips if I try to press W or S with either turning direction.
maybe to much power on the engines. thats where i would start.
Could you update the video to remind people to use fuel tanks pls xD
so y can't you just have a upgraded engine, rather then 4 not upgraded?

Does it work on gas engines? I can't seem to get it to work with gas engines. Anyways, thank you for the awesome idea. SUBBED!
Gas engines and electric engines have differnt torque.
