@@akms828 I've been disabling SuperFetch/SysMain and Windows Search on clients system running a mechanical drive. It improves their performance greatly. I do offer a SSD upgrade but most choose not to go with the upgrade.
I cant thank you enough. I have had this problem for years and nothing I have done has fixed it. Turns out the issue for me was the sysdm.cpl and that, thank God, was the first thing I tried. I was getting 100% disk usage at start up and it would stay that way for hours and even days. I just rebooted twice and disk usage drops down to 10 to 30% almost immediately. I am going to try some of the other tips if I run into issues again. Thank you for a great video.

Thank-you Brian - great video!!👍🏻 This is one of the problems I dread the most when a customer brings their PC/laptop into the shop as it's effectively working though a process of illimination on a machine running like a dog!!🐶 One thing I also do as a matter of course after running a full anti-virus scan is run a second opinion malware scanner such as Malwarebytes and then run Windows SFC to check & fix any potentially corrupted files.
What I'm confused about is that so many people came across the problem three or 4 months back more or less round about the same time. Was Microsoft doing something? Thanks for for another great video, hope you're coming on OK.
Hey Brian nice video. You can also right click on the drive and click properties and uncheck the file "allow all files to be indexed" which should be unchecked and hopefully this fixes and you can also get some performance in writing and reading disks especially on mechanical hard drives. And a disk cleanup is recommended.👍😉
Thank you learned a few more things to try to look for before I wipe the customers computer. usually see if old HDD replace if not remove any free anti virus they have update pc full if not solved then just back up personal data and important appdata then wipe clean.

Realtek Audio has been at 2013 forever. Nice to know a new update is available. It will likely reset to default settings. When this happens one's audio volume will reduce radically. I found a fix for this - not remember now. I will post a setting to fix if this happens.
Long time follower, thank you for the great ideas. You might want to consider letting users know there could me a cost associated with product you recommend. Not meant to sound like a critical comment, please. You are the best, kind regards!
Thanks Brian. This video is very helpful. Are you able to do a video on a problem when upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. During the upgrade I get a message "We couldn't update the system reserved partition". Is this fixable? Based on the web it seems to be a common problem. In other terms my computer meets all requirements for Windows 11. Cheers

Storage Sense - mine is turned off as it rarely showed anything. I clear unwonted files by: Disc Cleanup, Ccleaner. Prefetch Delete, Task Manager/Google files and Chrome History and Cached Images and Files. I truly wish there was a method of controlling the size of the Prefetched files as I find that if they get too big things slow down, likely in the range of 5MB+. I have also noticed that at about 2+ MB of Windows Log Files will slow down things as I have noticed time and time again when I delete then via Ccleaner my computer instantly speeds up - I spend 99% of my time in TH-cam. Wow, quite the story 🙄
