In this tutorial, I will be demonstrating a number of ways to fix the problem of 100% disk usage in Windows, especially Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Some typical signs of this problem include an obvious slowdown in the overall performance of your windows, system lags, unresponsive apps and processes, disk utilization percentage nearing or consistently on 100%, unusually loud noise from the cooling fan as if your processor or graphics card is under extreme use. The following suggestions were covered in this video:
    1. Disable Windows Search Service
    2. Check your disk defragmentation configuration
    3. Update your device drivers
    4. Disable Superfetch
    5. Reset Virtual Memory
    6. Check the configuration of your AHCI PCIe
    7. Disable Windows Update Service
    8. Disable Automatic Windows Update Service: • How To Disable Automat...
If everything fails, you might consider backing up your files and reinstalling Windows. If you set to do that, you can check the procedure I showed in this video: • Windows 10 Fall Creato...
on how to back up your files before installing a fresh copy of Windows.

@@mpchap Same here!! Sometimes i've to restart the computer like 4 to 5 times before i can get a (proper use) of the laptop.
My laptop is starting up really really slow. And eventually when you see the desktop, the laptop is thinking like madness for several minutes. Like 20 to 30 minutes😣😣
Sometimes the mouse-arrow is faltering. Most of the times it freezes ir restart the laptop by itself!! Very fking annoying. Laptop ive like +/- 5.5 years.
If i go to task manager. The processor has the most kind or red colour. It jumps from like 92% - 97% then 100%. Between that range. If I feel slightly next to the mousepad on the laptop. It feels kind of warm. Sonething with the cooling paste or something like that?
Branch of the laptop is ASUS.

I immediately start the task manager as windows started and if some application becomes unresponsive, I click on 'End Process' for that application. Once it becomes responsive, then we can fix the issues.

Thank you so much. It’s sometimes difficult to find troubleshooting videos that can talk you through things as comprehensively and as succinctly as you do. This video fixed my problem. In my task manager I noticed that the system kept spiking up in usage randomly and my disk usage was consistently at 100% without running anything but the task manager itself. I believe the first item on this video’s list helped with some things, but item #5 is where I saw most of the improvement. Before, sometimes it would take somewhere around 15 seconds to open just my Windows Start menu. Blegh. Thank you again. Very helpful.

sysmain is an app preloader, its helps load the app faster so you can use it quicker but disabling it will make it more longer to load and ready for use but it would boost the performance of using the app and stop from frequent slight freeze and less lag.
Sysmain marks app you frequently use though so it will preload marked apps,so basically its safe to disable it

Thanks a lot, man. I've been having this problem for the past month. Resetting the virtual memory did the trick for me. I honestly regret upgrading to Win 10, I constantly get BSOD's and my BIOS would constantly get corrupted. I wish I could go back to Win 7, had no issues running it and I never got a BSOD on Win 7

Virtual memory was the key. I reduced below the minimum to 900 and did the math for the ram on the second. Disk usage and memory really fixed. I was able to open and work around programs browsers and my pc worked like new. Great video learned a lot. 👍😁

Thx man I thought my PC will be slow like a 🐌 forever but its fixed. It worked with first 2 steps but I got greedy and still did all the steps anyways and now my PC is super fast. Appreciate that 💝
