I'm surprised at how many useful tips you have included in this video. This will be useful for my Windows tablet however my desktop is Win7 and for such an old OS I have non of these issues. I'm surprised at how many bugs there are in windows latest OS. God help us all ! BTW superfetch is now called SysMain.

Rebuild pc back in September and reinstalled windows no 100% disc usage on that pc. However laptop still has the issue now rarely use it as a result. I might make it into a chromebook or linux system instead though don't want to lose ms office

SuperFetch goes by Sysmain btw, you can look it up but disabling it helped a lot. I might be dumb or something but hope this helped and thx for the vid Mr.EzTechs.
Virtual memory was the key. I reduced below the minimum to 900 and did the math for the ram on the second. Disk usage and memory really fixed. I was able to open and work around programs browsers and my pc worked like new. Great video learned a lot. 👍😁
I have no idea what I was doing but I followed these instructions and the issue is resolved, and that is officially all I care about. I'm noticing the slight slow-down you talked about after disabling superfetch, but since this is mostly a word-processing laptop, it's barely an issue. Thank you so much!
sysmain is an app preloader, its helps load the app faster so you can use it quicker but disabling it will make it more longer to load and ready for use but it would boost the performance of using the app and stop from frequent slight freeze and less lag. Sysmain marks app you frequently use though so it will preload marked apps,so basically its safe to disable it
This really helped me fix two of my computers that have been having this problem, and I have had someone look at one of my computers, and he somewhat fixed it, but it is already back to 100% disk usage but fixed now, thanks to you.
Thank you so much. It’s sometimes difficult to find troubleshooting videos that can talk you through things as comprehensively and as succinctly as you do. This video fixed my problem. In my task manager I noticed that the system kept spiking up in usage randomly and my disk usage was consistently at 100% without running anything but the task manager itself. I believe the first item on this video’s list helped with some things, but item #5 is where I saw most of the improvement. Before, sometimes it would take somewhere around 15 seconds to open just my Windows Start menu. Blegh. Thank you again. Very helpful.
Why doesn't task manager show the percentage usage instead of the transfer rate that way we would see what is causing the problem instead of having to guess.
First method worked for me. after disabling the win search it instantly solved the disk issue :) Had 2 days to sit and fix problems on win 10. From Win update not updating, to corrupted files , to Hdd 100%: All 3 issues now fixed and i feel proud of myself!
I have had this problem since windows 10 released years ago. Oddly enough only on my laptops. In any case, It is massively annoying and if there was a realistic alternative to Windows I would jump ship like all the upper class on the Titanic. What often works for me more than any other is to restore my computer to a point where it was running as it should be. Thanks for the vid.
Use Linux if you can't stand the normal issues of windows , ubuntu is designed for general use. You can use a virtual machine to run windows to run anything you want to use that requires Windows.
by disabling windows search and superfetch, now my pc hdd usage drops from 100 to almost 0 when not using any application, thanks a lot for sharing your expertise.
Great tips, thanks! One question though, how come the changes I make get disregarded after some time? Can Windows update do that? I find myself watching your video and having to do the same changes every few months when my computer gets slow again...

Change the hard drive to a solid state. If the hard drive is always at 100% then it may be near the end of its life. SSDs are much faster and improve the performance of even the slowest computers.

I have played on potato for 5 years(really fuked life) finally got a gaming pc but this thing is annoying now
Bought a brand new gaming desktop and ran into this issue a few months in. It appears to have been super fetch causing my problem. Really helpful and clear directions. Thank you!!
Good to know it helped you out, thanks for the feedback!
Thank you so much, bought an HP laptop years ago was so slow I just didn't use it. Tried your tips and fixed everything completely. Still won't buy HP again though was bad right out of the box.
Thank so much for the feedback, I believe it will help many
Precisely what I was looking for (superfetch wasn't listed any longer after the recent update), thanks.
so you don't care about our feedback that the video is not useful for everyone and you make it worse, right?
Matlockization OMG you guys busy slowing down ur PC with each windows buggy and usless updates .. my lappy is still as snappy as when it first booted since I have blocked updates ( using shut up windows 10 software ) ..No forced updates , its been 3months and it is buttery smooth ..
So lame no one has all the answers, step 1 stop windows 10 update services (there are 2). Step 2 stop all services except google services step 3 lower power of cpu to 75 % on power options. step 4 stop cortana services. step 5 stop atart up apps and services. and google 100%disk usage if iv missed any thing because there are multiple steps in the list within the list . thanks
thank you :)

[Advance System Settings -> Performance Options -> Visual effects -> Adjust for best performance] worked perfectly for me. Reduced disk usage from 100% to ~20%
Disabling SuperFetch seemed to do it. Thanks a ton!
Good to know it helped you out, thanks for the feedback!
@@EasyTechs It worked for me too, but made my pc launching app times x10 slower, is this a sign of making my pc slower but not freezing?
@@ΓιώργοςΧασάπης-υ9ω he already said in the video , once you disable superfetch ,app startup will be slower
I feel like it's better to disable windows search indexing rather than superfetch
SSD not the solution as I have this problem with an SSD
Ur default is ssd or hdd ?
@@kibomine only one drive is ssd. Time to upgrade to linux I think
Ya mme to fuking ssd
My default is ssd and having 100 disk usage
Rebuild pc back in September and reinstalled windows no 100% disc usage on that pc. However laptop still has the issue now rarely use it as a result. I might make it into a chromebook or linux system instead though don't want to lose ms office
Thank you sir, The stopping superfetch seemed to do the trick. I've ran into this problem so many times and it's usually been the defrag and disabling it always fixed it. Now it was something completely different. Was really surprised to see how many things effect this particular problem.
Good to know it helped you out, thanks so much for the feedback!
Due to continues error n slow down, I switched back to win 7 today. Developers u should be ashamed of yourself.
Disable window search & reset virtual memory worked for me. At the beginning tho, it’s always 100% or closer but it calms down within 5 min or so. Thank you so much!
I was skeptical, but the first solution fixed it straight away. I'd been having trouble with it for about a year but now it feels like a new laptop. Thank you!
Good to know it helped you out, thanks so much for the feedback!
the first solution made my screen black
The defragmentation and task manager part helps, thanks a lot
1 solution go back to win7
Really works?
Yes stable but if you want true stable os xp still i entered a semiconductor company and i ask them why xp they said among all of microsoft did xp is the perfect os they did
How to downgrade to windows 7? Once you upgraded it than you can't downgrade. Can you help me?

Works for windows 11 too for those wondering.
Disabling superfetch/sysmain was the most efficient for me.
thanks man, it works on me too!
SuperFetch goes by Sysmain btw, you can look it up but disabling it helped a lot. I might be dumb or something but hope this helped and thx for the vid Mr.EzTechs.
serperior 21212 thank you, I was worried when I couldn’t find superfetch 😂
So enter same replacing super fetch with Sysmain?
Oliva Jimenez yes
That's it, I'm going to install Linux. Im tired of this.
How did it go?
My problem with Linux is that it doesnt get the support of many games but i definitly want it to work.

But on SSD windows works fine.
Also some games can be launched by wine

Virtual memory was the key. I reduced below the minimum to 900 and did the math for the ram on the second. Disk usage and memory really fixed. I was able to open and work around programs browsers and my pc worked like new. Great video learned a lot. 👍😁
What is your ram then

@@c21secco well okay, I will stick to the old one, my problem now is the cpu hahaha
@@TatarFromKazan 👍🙂
I have no idea what I was doing but I followed these instructions and the issue is resolved, and that is officially all I care about. I'm noticing the slight slow-down you talked about after disabling superfetch, but since this is mostly a word-processing laptop, it's barely an issue. Thank you so much!
sysmain is an app preloader, its helps load the app faster so you can use it quicker but disabling it will make it more longer to load and ready for use but it would boost the performance of using the app and stop from frequent slight freeze and less lag.
Sysmain marks app you frequently use though so it will preload marked apps,so basically its safe to disable it
Sorry i forgot to tell, Microsoft renamed superfetch to "sysmain"
It turned out to be "sysmain" in my case. Disabling it literally took my disk usage from 100% to 0-5%. Thanks man, you're a legend!

Every windows 10 PC I have ever owned has done this. Even in 2019 and going into 2020
Starting to think maybe Linux is the way to go
Better buy ssd versions

@@LadooGopal33342 I got this problem after I bought a new HDD. What could be the issue?
Thanks!
This really helped me fix two of my computers that have been having this problem, and I have had someone look at one of my computers, and he somewhat fixed it, but it is already back to 100% disk usage but fixed now, thanks to you.
So kind of you...
Good to know it helped you out, thanks so much for the feedback!

Thanks for the solutions! I do suggest creating a restore point before performing any tasks.
Solved it with the Defrag thing - you’re a hero!
Slow down man my windows is using 100% disk
Why doesn't task manager show the percentage usage instead of the transfer rate that way we would see what is causing the problem instead of having to guess.
Haven’t figured quite yet but you’re incredible with all these possible solutions. thanks!
Do you game?
Where was this fantastic vid when I needed it!!! I just gave up and bought a new PC
Did the issues go away with ur new PC tho thats the question XD

First method worked for me.
after disabling the win search it instantly solved the disk issue :)
Had 2 days to sit and fix problems on win 10.
From Win update not updating,
to corrupted files , to Hdd 100%:
All 3 issues now fixed and i feel proud of myself!
Use Linux if you can't stand the normal issues of windows
, ubuntu is designed for general use. You can use a virtual machine to run windows to run anything you want to use that requires Windows.
Use Windows 7 its much much better and faster and easier.
Go Windows 7 my dude
