Couldn't agree more and that is something which I have been trying to expose for at least 2 decades.
Indian academic system is limited, in terms of general view. It indeed is a cultural limitation. If you look at any Indian socio-cultural context, what prevails there's the caste and religion not the Constitution which has the goodness of 448 articles. Each ethnic group places barrier before other ethnic groups. For instance; if you are a Brahmin you can't marry an individual from other caste... not to mention about Indian so-called dowry system that has still in practice amongst Indian Christian communities.Through dowry, they find an easy solution, an initial fund instead of encouraging self-esteem and self-sufficiency of the 2 individuals that what to find a common terrain. These are strong symptoms of how RETROGRADE and limited is Indian socio-cultural system.
In India, people holding an academic degree is too many but holding retrograde policies a t the same time. They lack concrete views/viable solutions unlike their European countries counterparts.
Apart from the classification of caste I find Indian Education System as an obsession - a sort of ideology than authentic ideas that could be implemented within the society. Most of the Indian "academically educated" have no general view about the world. It seems, they spent their beautiful years 《between books and assignments》 just to get a degree that would eventually allow them to get a job...
But that shouldn't be the sole purpose of academic education. Academic education should rather create responsible future citizens with visions, so that they can make difference in the society in which they live.
The fact that there's no goverment social welfare system in India, leads people of different ethnic groups to dowry system as an alternative. In India, if you become ill, you have to depend on private health care lobby. If not, you can die. And if you do not want to die, you asre obliged to opt for crowd funding🤦♂️Where is the fundamental, inviolable human right/dignity lies...in India? I wonder! Health, housing and standard education must be the "must" of a society. Advanced health care must be provided freely to each and every Indian citizens. That is a very basic human right.
Caste system inevitably create a retrograde society that grows up with a sort of ideology. We all know any sort of ideology has very limited, restricted views, which automatically place a barrier before other group of people with different views.
Subsequently, it ends up in cultural clashes and socio-economic marginalization.
Democracy stands for accepting other ideas, even if I don't embrace those ideas. It gives us space and time to emancipate in a healthy manner. Democracy forces us to come in terms with other views that are in collisions with our ideas. It requires a mental flexibility not rigidity.
I have encountered several Indians(female and male) living in developed western countries literally spitting on the plate they eat. They tend to develop a ghetto community with other Indians instead of merging with the hosting country's society.
When you tend to do that, I mean, the non-knowledge of the cultural context about your hosting country, makes you stay isolated from that local culture, above all psychologically. What is the point of merely making money if you do not know how to make a qualitative life for you and others instead of quantitative one? You inevitably end up in two boats - in a stateless limbo. You experience isolation/nothingness instead of belongingness.
Again, tourists from India who visit other countries are bizarre. Their sole object is to take a photograph in front of a world famous monument. And the moment you ask them do you know the historical importance of that particular site, they have absolutely no clue or even worse; not interested to know or spend some quality time on the matter.
Actually, no Indian households has a home library. There might be sporadic cases but it is not a common culture amongst Indians, whereas, a home library is the core thing at any European households. No matter what you do for living, you have a small or large home library with a fantastic collection of books which you read.
India hates West and its people
but dearly love its viable system, socio-economic welfare system and wants to send its high skilled expertise to the West(look at the current debate at Indian central government about sending Indian skilled students to the UK), instead of focusing to providing favourable opportunities to them, within the country. Let us be frank: if a citizen has a favourable socio-economic welfare system within the country, he/she wouldn't migrate to foreign countries. You don't have to migrate to a foreign country, to be able to make holidays and experience different cultures and culinary if you have financial stability within your country.
Emigration is never a solution.
As I mentioned above, India has a massive issue: its intelligent brains are emigrating(encouraged by the society and government) to other developed countries, in order to have a better standard of living. But that majorly influences the degeneration of its own industrial and infrastructural development.
When Indian people get migrated in such mass, implementing their intellectual property in the developed countries, that results the decline of the country of origin. There wouldn't have been any need of migration if the governments were efficient in implementing its industrial growth upgrading India to a welfare state.
In European cultural context, if an individual get migrated to other country which can offer better future, it is widely experienced as the utter failure of your own country's local/central government administrations in implementing accurate solutions.
In a nutshell, when a country pushes/forces its citizens to emigrate to the developed countries, that clearly make us realise how least it cares about its citizens. A country's administration must focus on implementing apt solutions for the socio-economic and cultural well-being of its citizens. When that policy is not seriously taken in consideration, that can only mean the dusk of that country, in terms of socio-economic welfare parity of its citizens. It indeed, is the utter failure of the government administration.
If a government does not engage or get interested in the socio-economic parity of its citizens rather than merely focusing on political ideology Harthal and how many from each sided have been killed, then that country does not require a corrupted government system.
