    Good video with example of lack of maintenance.

    I just had an issue where the engine started knocking with a P0011 dtc. Found the person that changed the oil put way to much in. It was about 4 inches above the full mark. I changed the VVT silonid and cam position sensor. Cranked it over it knocked for about 6 seconds then smoothed right out.
    This was on a 1012 KIA Forte. The only thing that has me baffled is there was only 1 silonid and 1 cam sensor. Every video I've seen shows 2 each, one for intake and one for the exhaust. The beauty cover is inbossed with DOHC. But did have junkyard paint lettering of "4-I" which I just assume means in-line 4 cylinder. 🤔

    Hello , I have jumped timing belt , my camshaft marks are lost , my question is : do I got camshaft valves bent already ?
    P.S , some of old design Engines had gap Between piston and valves , what about Kia Forte 2010 DOCH 1,8
    Thanks

    2010 kia forte Ex I got a bad injector in the 3rd cylinder causing a misfire and a timing code, would like to fix myself however dont have the eye to identify what parts went bad

      Bad injector causing a misfire is extremely rare. Possible but very rare. Need to verify exactly what's wrong. A good scan tool with oem data will help. Good luck 👍

    I have a 2010 koup with the 2.0. Keeps setting p0014. Iv replaced the exhausted side solenoid. Changed the oil. Checked the camshaft sensor. The car runs great. Whats the likely hood of a bad actuator?

      It's definitely possible. Did you replace the solenoid with an OE part ir aftermarket. I have found the aftermarket ones listed for this car are not correct.

      Aftermarket, napa brand

      @HighGearAutomotive if I decide to do chain and actuators, where would be a good place to order parts? ( closest dealer is over an hour away)

      @@TheWolfman2006 I'd recommend all OE so either the dealer or you can find them from other dealers online.

      No, but it may be helpful to ratchet strap the engine block towards the driver's side.

    What drill are you using?

    • @HighGearAutomotive
      @HighGearAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just dewalt corded drill with an extension & socket chucked up in it.

      You'd have to check. I don't know if you're off just a tooth on your belt or if you completely broke it.
