- What an absolute thrill it was to deliver the Shallow Sport X3 to the 2023 Miami Boat Show. Departing from Bud n' Mary's marina, we made our way north following the intracoastal waterway - from the back country of Islamorada, up through "toilet bowl" cut, then on to Jewfish Creek, and finally onwards through Card Sound into Biscayne Bay, before arriving to Sea Isle Marina.
This isn't your ordinary "review" of the Shallow Sport X3, which we know and love - this was an odyssey to one of the most exceptional nautical events in South Florida.
One of the advantages of taking a "show boat" to a boat show is early access to check out some of the latest and greatest performance sport vessels on display. While setting up at the 2023 Miami Boat Show, we had a first look at the new Freeman 28' Bay Boat - a vessel that is truly in a league of its own. Touring the floating docks being assembled in front of Sea Isle Marina, we also took a look at the new 600HP Mercury outboards, the Bahama 41' Super Center Console and the most innovative "tiki" barge i've ever seen!
If the 2023 Miami Boat Show wasn't enough of a spectacle, we were treated to a ride back to the Florida Keys in a Piper Malibu Mirage - the personal aircraft of Shallow Sport Boats owner - Wes Hudson! I have to say, in all my time in South Florida, there are few feelings more satisfying than flying high over I-95 traffic during rush hour - an absolute dream come true.

What are the idle and on plane draft (incl jack plate) of the Freeman 28 bay boat?
Could you compare and contrast good v bad the baby freeman and 25 x3? Nice big platform on baby freeman to fish on. Reason why i love the x3 and put it on top of my list.
You better believe, when the Freeman bay boat arrives to Bud n' Mary's - we will contrast and compare fishability!
