i was getting really ticked about her using the term "Passed away" too. I wonder though, after thinking about it, if she doesn't want to say "murder" since they will be on trial soon and are Presumed Innocent until a jury makes their decision?? but, they were, in fact, murdered by someone!!

The only way that Nate was able to get Gibb to sit down with him is if he made major concessions. There was to be no implicating of the Mormon Church allowed, and they have been murderers from the start. And there was no mention of the love affair between Lori and Gibb allowed. She knew Lori's husband was seeking a divorce and that he was afraid for his life and she had to know they wanted to hurry and kill him for insurance money. I lived this sort of life.. I promise you these kids are simply doing what they need to survive. Did you hear Emma (while Chad is in the cop car and they are digging up the yard) she says You raised us well.. we will be fine… WITH YOUR WALLET! That says so much. You see, I walked away, giving up much $ that could have changed my life. My brothers stayed and the golden child reaped many many benefits and the other one got the leftovers. Those leftovers had his children stay loyal to him. Money talked folks. If you have no “character” you will stay where the money is. Just my opinion.

Her testimony was also very self-serving. But the truth came out in Zulema's testimony and in the texts. She and David were the last people to see JJ alive. He was either dead at 10 pm when Alex brought him back to the house "asleep on his shoulder" or killed early the next day. David even asked to see JJ as he felt something was off. This woman's dismissal and contempt for the victims is palpable. No compassion. When asked about Tylee she said "Tylee didn't like people. She didn't like anybody." Chad's exact words he spoke about Tylee to a neighbor. And look at how she described JJ, "he was always hyper and angry or crying and chill." She could care less about these kids. JJ was so loving and sweet as I saw in his videos. Hyper, yes. Special needs child. But very loving to others. It was most likely Tylee who had the total care of JJ after Charles died. Tylee stayed with Lori to protect JJ. She fought back against Lori's teachings. In fact, everybody else looked after the kids, not Lori. She was always out doing her own thing. First nephew Zach took care of the kids for three years. Then Charles took most of the care of JJ. Then Tylee. Then Alex. Then the babysitter. Melanie lied to the police even though she is making fun of the beliefs and had doubts. Plus she knew when you were a zombie you died. She is an accomplice to murder. She belongs in jail.
Every time I see Melanie Gibb speak, I think of Kay Woodcocks statement: "they scatter like cockroaches in the light"

Im german and just stumbled over this case. I’m shocked about that woman and how she’s trying to minimize her guilt. She believed in whatever these crazy people said and even made that weird podcast with lori. The zombie theory meant that possessed people could only be cured when they die - only way to make the demon leave the body - she knew about that and could figure what would happen to the children and Charles or Tammy. She knew that they had to die to be healed.
Furthermore she says “they passed away” which tells all….

Yes, I'm so sad for both kids. I don't believe for a moment that Lori was ever a good guardian, mom, to these kids. No, I think these kids endured so much chaos brought on and orchestrated by this woman...these kids were not her priority.

I watched this interview when it first came out. But I decided to listen to it again because of the trial. It is making me so mad that she keeps referring to evil things as “unusual” or “different”. She refuses to say that anything Lori & Chad did was wrong. Probably because it would reflect badly on her. “Oh, I thought it was unusual that they were lying in order to go to the temple. I am in no way excusing what happened. She is however, describing her thoughts and actions as things were unfolding. Not after the fact, when bodied started popping up and people were disappearing. At that time, she is simply trying to digest the crazy that is Chad Daybell.
I don't believe anything she says anymore after the court case. In the police interview she said slept in a separate room from David but in the court case she said she was back and forth between rooms🙄
This interview drove me nuts. Melanie kept saying “people had to pass on. Pass away.” They were murdered! There is a big difference between passing away which is from natural causes and being murdered!

One- this was 9 days before they even found the bodies. So at this point, no proof of murder. 2- if she was crying you’d say she was a faker. 3 it’s very normal for people to laugh when they are nervous or uncomfortable or try and mimic laughter when they are nervous. I lived with someone like this. Err like Lori anyway. Extremely manipulative and loved a double life. She way a good church goer and a volunteer at a veteran’s society, but in secret she was a fraud and when she sensed people finding her out, she got ahead of it and turned everyone against that person. Turns out I’m 99% sure she has BPD, aka borderline personality disorder. She let her 35 year old sun live in the cupboard under the stairs where he would shoot up heroin. When I found out and tried to move out because of it, she flipped the script and told everyone I was the drug user, and she was kicking me out because of it. This woman ruined my entire life for about 2 years. I’m finally got mine when I took her to court and proved my case. But it caused me a series of emotional and mental breakdowns. It’s so scary how women like melanie, who can look perfectly normal, are secretly batshit crazy and conspire to do insane shit in the name of (whatever they use to justify their nonsense). There’s a lot more of these people than we are aware of.

There are a lot of negative comments here about this woman being interviewed. Idk to me, as far as I can see things… I think she’s being nothing but real during all this interview. Yes. . She was severely duped, but fast forward time, she is now obviously very ashamed at her gullibility and naivety. I think she was speaking with Nate, simply giving him play-by-play open details of how things went down, or at least how she knew things to be at the time. Lori was extradited to Arizona today to finally go to court for conspiring to murder Charles and Brandon. I hope that Charles gets justice and that it helps his friends and family get some sort of closure. I hope that Brandon and everyone affected by LVD's monstrous choices are able to find peace, healing, and happiness.
This is the type of person I taught my children to steer clear of in this life. Anyone, male or female, who are so knee deep in a religion of any name that they cannot navigate their life on their own. This case is utterly heartbreaking. The woman talking here is still delusional.

Hindsight is 20/20 .. Sometimes we're too close to see the big picture and I'm sure all of us can recall a time in our lives when we were fooled by one or more that we felt we pretty much trusted implicitly and may have even compromised ourselves to even a small degree before we completely realized the ramifications of our 'loyalty' to another person. Though each of our personal experiences more are probably nothing to the extent of this case regardless we have to bear in mind that as observers we're in the position of seeing the bigger picture because of the coverage and unfolding of this whole story where someone who is much closer and involved bit by bit, day by day it takes longer for that picture to materialize and complete itself and for all the pieces to fall into place. As observers we're sitting at a completely different vantage point. When Melanie initially lied to the police she was buying time to answer some questions of her own about the players involved while still being alive and fresh in what she felt was a basically good and meaningful friendship so initially mitigating anything negative until she could figure out more was almost understandable though humanly flawed as it was.

Tylee was a teen and it sounded like she was a fireball as many teens are. She HATED Melanie. Now don’t get me wrong, I remember being an angsty teen and had an attitude half the time but I never loathed my mothers friends. Tylee got to see the side of Melanie that she is trying not to show us. This version of MG is disgusting and it’s heavily censored. I bet Tylee had good cause for hating her.
