My experience has been completely different so far. I had an endometrial polyp removed along with a D&C, NovaSure, and a Mirena insertion five days ago under general anesthesia. My bleeding has already essentially stopped, and I have required only three doses of ibuprofen since my procedure. I’ve had menstrual cramps far worse than any of the discomfort during recovery so far. Other than feeling fatigued from general surgery, I almost feel back to my normal self. I think it’s very important to differentiate the differences every woman has, and the medical condition she goes into the procedure with. Having a thyroid disorder, significant menstrual bleeding, or anemia definitely is a huge factor. It’s super helpful to hear everyone’s experience, but please don’t base your decision solely on the experience of a random TH-camr. Ask your provider lots of questions!!
I know this comment is super old but I'm having the Novasure with Mirena done soon and wanted to check and see if you're still doing good with it. I've been on the Depo shot for years and am not looking forward to even the possibility of a period LOL
Omg. Thank God for you. I just had surgery two days ago and I couldn’t explain what I was going through with to my husband. I am in tears 😭 right now. Someone explain what I am really going through. Thank you so much.
Oh my gosh you are absolutely correct about the pain. I went to the emergency room because the pain was so severe. I was praying that this pain would go away. I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy. Thank you for sharing your story.
Thank you so much. I cringe every time I read yet another comment of someone who re-lives my pain. 99% of all the comments to this video is the same. I wish they would BAN ABLATIONS. YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO HAPPY WITH THE HYSTERECTOMY. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe.
I had an ablation a couple of years ago had none of the symptoms you described. I have had no periods nor any pms symptoms I also had no discomfort whatsoever
I had my procedure nearly 4 wks ago and i still have that watery pink discharge on & off. Looking at it i felt , may be the procedure didn't work out for me. Seeing your video , made me calm & eased my mind.i now think that body needs to settle down after procedure. Thanks for your video.❤❤
Thank you for this video. I’m 28 and looking into having a novasure. My period is a monster each month. And has had my anemia Very low. To the point, I can’t concentrate, have no energy, always tired and thought I had lupus. I cannot take it. I don’t want children. I have none. And have been told by many docs getting and staying pregnant would be challenging. I’ve come to accept it. I’m fine with it . I’ve always planed on adoption.
Thank you for this video. I just had it done a few days ago and the doc was all like rest one day and then go back to normal....BS. I wasn't even aware that I'd be discharging "burn particles" 😱 But, I have to say, I'm still looking forward to the hope of no more bleeding. My period from the haydes started after I had to start Xarelto (blood thinner). I started on it, will be a year in 5 days. Took this long for me to even have a dr offer up ablation. I had never heard of it. But I sure was wishing I had found out way earlier. I'm severely anemic, super fatigued all the time - ZERO energy! I told my dr "no pad can contain it". Worst periods EVER! I am so sad you are going through that ridiculous pain. Truly Novasure is just a band-aid and doesn't fix the issue. Only 2% of all the comments and women that have seen this video have no issues. Praying for your issue to be resolved quickly.
Hi Liz, thanks for sharing your story. You are correct they don't mention what could happen after the surgery in the pamplets or docs office! I wanted to get this procedure but my doc is encouraging a hysterectomy. I told him that is off the table. Now I have to figure out what else I can do to stop this heavy bleeding.
3 years after the novasure surgery, I started having the lining developed on outside. Causing fluid buildup in the abdomen. I'm now in extreme pain every month. I'm wanting a hysterectomy just to make it stop. It may not happen to a lot of women, but it definitely happened to me.

After doing my research, I think I am just going to advocate for a partial hyster. I am so done at this point. Appreciate your honesty about your experience.
Thank you for explaining what the Drs don’t! Just curious what the burn particles look like? I’m having what looks like broken up blood clots after the surgery. But there bright red, nothing gross.
Dark brown colored clots is what I remember. The Novasure was not for me. It did not work. It was just a band-aid. Had a hysterectomy 2 years later. I hope it goes well for you.
WHAT!?!? Oh HELL no am I dealing with uterine cramps like that!!!! I’ve been on Depo for five years to help control things, but the weight gain (it’s EVERY SHOT) and hair growth on my face has done me in. Ablation is an option, but I just made it NOT an option.. not when there are other things I can do. Thank you SO much for opening up and sharing this!
Thank you for the update! Please give us another update on your Endometrial Ablation pass the 6 months from your surgery. I had mine this week and this helps a lot to know what to expect for the upcoming months. Thank you!
Thanks for the update, I literally just have the Novasure procedure. Thanks for details explanation. Now I know what to really expect. I can say it’s not a pleasant experience so far. Thanks again,God bless you and I hope that you are continue to be better.
Thank you Ma! I’m going on 3 days after my ablation and ugh I keep having minor contractions, but my back hurts and cramping! Omg now that I stop taking medication I can feel everything 🤦🏽♀️
Thank you so much i had it done 1 year ago, and yes my uterus for like lightning bolts and cramps i never had i have now around would be my cycle time ,but glade i had it done for months of heavy flow,to pink to no flow ,
Omg!!! Thank you so much, I had mine done October 5,2022 a few weeks ago and I’m bloated, cramping like crazy and have to sleep with a heating pad.. I have pains that shoot through my stomach every 5 minutes and I was like what is going on.. Today is day 4..
Hi I'm a mother of 5 and never had a regular cycle until I had my kids. I got my tubes tied 2 years ago and my cycle was just beautiful until 2 months ago. I have had heavy bleeding and some big clots. My doctor gave me the option of the nuvasure or a hysterectomy. She told me to do some research as I wait for my biopsy results. Thank for this detailed video cause I wanted to know what I was signing up for.
Nantha Metellus glad you found me! I did the NOVASURE last year in June and this past June I did the hysterectomy because I could not take the pain anymore - now I feel like A MILLION BUCKS!!! Wish I would have not bothered with the NOVASURE. Blessings to you! Sending good thoughts your way!
I just want to say , I had an ablation about 7 or 8 years ago , and I was one that the periods never stopped but lightened up alot. However the pain is absolutely horrendous!! Nothing can touch it ! I would much rather bleed heavy then to deal with the pain that I have almost every month , plus the swelling is pretty bad as well . I regret getting the surgery and the only fix is a partial hysterectomy which scares the hell out of me . I have heard people who love that they had an ablation but in my case not so much . My pain never went away so I would absolutely do the research before you decide on having the surgery done.
Angela Miller wow Angela thank you so much for your words!!!! I know you understand my monthly pain - I too prefer to have a heavy flow then experience the pain I go through. I’m already dreading next month. I will let you know if I decide on the partial hysterectomy.
Angela Miller how old are u? I'm 52 & have been on my period for a month now with very heavy flow! What wud u recommend? I'm so tired of this alrdy! Plz help. - Liz
@@lizmarquez4611 based on what this lady saying I will suggest if you got a hysterectomy a lot of women had hysterectomy and please they rest in peace no more. No more worries no more pain nothing
I'm having my surgery on May 2, 2019, I was happy that finally I will be heavy flow, fibroids and sharp pain free but now that you saying this I have to be REALLY prepared for what is going to happened after the procedure, thank you.
Sandy Segura I had mine 22 months ago. I also still have pms and cramps and everything that comes with a period except the bleeding around the time I would normally have my period. My periods were debilitating but my insurance wouldn’t cover a hysterectomy which is what my doctor wanted to do. Being almost 2 years post op I do have random discharge that reminds me of the day after my period. Ironically my NovaSure ablation procedure put me to where I’m premenopausal. I’m 34. My mom started menopause at 38 and was done by 40. So maybe that’s a factor as why I’m starting menopause. Over all I felt the surgery was a success for me. One thing I will warn you about though is that you still ovulate. My ovaries cause me to feel extreme pain for about 6 hours, luckily I can control that with Tylenol or Advil. Also something else about when I ovulate I keep panty liners with me because for about a 48 hour period I have a clear runny discharge that’s looks just like water. At times I hardly notice it and sometimes I will have to change my clothes. Just keep in mind that every womans is different and will respond differently. Best advice I can give you it to NOT miss your follow up and get a yearly pap-smear. Because you do not want to want to experience LOEAF (late onset endometrial ablation failure)
Thank you it helps to have a heads up, I also understand that everyone is different but I just want to be prepared and not be surprised for anything. Thank you for your time to reply.
Sandy Segura I went in blind. Just expect the worst and then you’ll realize it won’t be that bad. But I forgot to mention that in 2009 I had my tubes tied which made my periods even worse than they were
@@robiimccann I also got my tubes tied, cut and burned on 2013. The only difference was that my period got super crazy. I also forgot to mention that I have uterine fibroids that was the cause of my sharp pain and super heavy flow with chunks I have to use adult diapers or else I will stain anywhere I sit. I found out on August 2018 when i went to the ER for a excruciating pain on my uterus they did a CAT scan thinking that it was my appendix but no I have walnut size fibroids. That explained my super heavy flow and chunks coming out and the pain that I have every day, that is why my Dr. decided to do this surgery.
Hi did you get your operation done and how did you feel and did it hurt and how long did it hurt you for or did you change your mind and how are you doing
Thank you so much for making this video. I have been in AGONY every two weeks since a few months after my procedure. I would have never done this had I known what would happen afterwards. Best wishes for you in the future! Hugs
@@LizKrolProductions hey lady. Just checking in on you and wanted to ask you how your research is coming. Wondering if your doctor has ever suggested that you have a pelvic floor problem. This is the latest "diagnosis" I've gotten. I'm not sure, of course I'm not a doctor, but we know our bodies, and I didn't have these issues before ablation. Any advice?
I’m terrified. My periods has already started to get lighter but my doctor insisted the ablation would help. I have already had a ton of weight gain and gaining more weight is not an option for me. PMS symptoms I was told would go away as far as cramps and back pain. My doctor won’t do hormone level check for me. I’ve been suffering for seven years and it wasn’t until I gained 50 pounds that this endometrial ablation was offered as a solution. I am not only worried things won’t get better.
I’m due to have this in a month so listening to real women’s experiences is very helpful. Thanks for sharing . I’m still in 2 minds about having it done. My periods are awful but am I just going to make things worse for myself?!
hottpink88 Thanks for watching. This month for me was just as bad again. I’m starting to wonder if I should have had a partial hysterectomy instead. Been spotting for almost 10 days now. Sending best wishes to you.
Lizzett Alvarado sorry to hear that, when I got the mirena (another attempt to help myself) I bled from November till February - it was awful hence my hesitation now! Hope you find a solution that helps! Merry Christmas 🎄
I'm wondering how many of you also had a d&c before ablation? I just had d&c and abalation last wednesday. I only bleed a little afterwards. Didnt bleed day after and still not bleeding. No cramping either
Jolie Tibbett im about to have a dnc and oblation on tuesdsy. ive been bleeding for 34 days now and tried two kinds of medicines to stop the bleeding with no luck so far. the dnc is going to remove a polyp, i have a cyston my overy too.
Chelsea Thao I am sorry to hear that. Ask your doctor for pain meds and listen to what your body tells you during the week of your “cycle” which should diminish. I feel like I exchanged the blood flow for pain. I will be talking to my doctor now about a hysterectomy. I will keep you all updated
I just had the surgery last week & I have gone back to work & 😱..... My abdominal pain is awful..... It's so hurtful everyday.... I'm in pain. Thank you for this video...
Did you go back to work right away? I’m taking a week off simply bc I have a strenuous job with heavy lifting and I’m not trying to cause any more issues to my body
I had my Nova Sure Ablation Surgery done August of 2009 ... 10 Years Ago. I had bleeding and discharge for more than a month and then still had regular periods , but much less bleeding & no more bleeding through everything and clothes which was my hugest issue ... huge clots and gushing of blood. I still have monthly periods which is nice in the way that I know I haven’t gone through Menopause yet (just turned 53) ... & the NovaSure took care of my main complaints of insanely heaving bleeding . I had have really hard PMS but that is probably more related to Peri- menopause than anything else .
Nantha Metellus I remember it was “more” of a procedure & recovery that I thought .... yes cramping , but I think the cramping was just the first few days but I remember having light blood discharge for many weeks . I remember the day after I had made a work appointment and became nauseous , weak & shaky , but that was probably due to being put under the day before .... I would suggest 3 days at least to be just low key around home .
Thanks for this update. I had mine 10 years ago as well. I feed terrible on days that I am suppose period. I get terrible headache. It is so bad that I feel like I will die . I found a solution thou. I do cupping and then he blood is out of my body I get instant healing. To summarise the body always want to take out the blood out. Because I have blocked it I get the headache. It is bad to temper with natural flow. I have learned my lesson I wish I didn't do the procedure. I can't reverse. I wish he was onother way to help people .
Hey i recently had a thyroidectomy my iron, calcium magnesium are extremely low as well but since my iron was extremely low my obgyn decided i should have the ablation done did your calcium and magnesium levels get back to normal? I wish i could talk to you via phone i have so many questions. Ive been so depressed lately
I do to have my done Feb 6 2020 and I'm scared to death bc me and pain dosen't get along to well I cant handle pain I wish we can talk about all this via on the phone bc I need to know what I will be going through thank u so much for ur honesty bc I like looking up and read up on what ppl outcome on the sugary
Thank you. I'm probably going to need it done anyway but it'll help to understand and know what to expect. I already have extreme pain so this makes me nervous. But it's reality.
Thanks for the video i had mine done a week ago and im on the third day of my period and yes im having really bad cramping and pressure and im sooo. Bloated The bleeding is much lighter than before I just hope that my next periods will start feeling better
Praying for you. I haven’t experience these issues, slight cramps during time I suppose to have mensural cycle. Hope all gets better. I have a small goiter and doctor hasn’t sent me to specialist only to keep eye on measurement by ultrasound. I guess I need to try a specialist to check it out.
receecake thank you! I am so glad you are well. I saw my doctor last week and it looks like a hysterectomy is in my near future if the pain persist in the next month or two. I may still be healing. They will leave my ovaries so the procedure doesn’t jumpstart menopause 😉 thanks for watching.
I’m getting the Novasure procedure due to two small 2 cm fibroids i have that are giving me excruciating pain during my period. I am so scared to get this done. Has anyone with fibroids had the novasure procedure done and found the pain from the fibroids to be gone? I rather a hystorectomy but was told since i just turned 40 im really young to have one done and it wouldnt be a good idea for me till im 50. Thank you for sharing
I had mine a month ago tomorrow and this morning I started my period..... normally day one is fairly light then day 2-5 are like a waterfall.....knowing me and my body I'm the 20% that continue to have periods monthly. I had a total thyroidectomy at 27 and it turned out to be the rarest most aggressively reccuring thyroid cancer. That taught me that I am the 1% of any and ALL complications......so I guess I can't be super surprised that I'm bleeding now lol
How have your periods been since? I’m about to have this procedure with myosure for my fibroid and I’m wondering if people who are still having periods saw any relief from their heavy flows.....I feel like maybe I will be one who continues to have periods in just hoping they will be much lighter.
@@77parrothead so I had morning spotting daily for the first 2 months and 2 much lighter periods. So far it was a success but anything can change for up to a year. I will say I have DAILY cramping that feels very much so stronger then before the procedure. All in all I would do it again. Hopefully it stays that way lol
I have the same issues. I had no idea what the sharp pinching thing that was happening in my vaginal area. It does feel like electric shokes. I also have bloating really bad.
betty baez praying it goes well for you. I am hoping to film an update in the next few months - hoping I can say it just took time to heal and I’m all better now -- let’s see!! Fingers crossed
Has anyone of you who has had thermoablation had issues with your thyroid afterwards? Because that is what my natural healing practitioner warned me of... I already have problems with hormonal imbalance. @Lizzett: which surgery did you have first?
im getting mine done to stabilize my thyroid. ive been on thyroid meds for 2 years with consistent raisings and no change. We believe it to be my birth control which I am only on for my periods. He said it would definitely help.
A week or 2 - (10 days or so) then I started spotting again and getting pain because the entire uterus was not “burned” properly. I hope it works for you. Novasure did not work for me.
I had this procedure one week ago. I am still experiencing a thin clear/yellow watery discharge. I have to change a pad at least 4 times a day. Its manageable but did you experience this? I am wondering how long it will last.
I’m a year and a half post opt, some months my pms is sooo bad and prolong for weeks, my breast are super tender for 2 wks, but some months I feel nothing.
My novasure ablation caused my adenomyosis which is also causing my hysterectomy next week…. My period went from 7 days to 4 to however many days it wants to…. Light bleeding my ass… excuse my French
The ablation is horrible! I was very upset about the whole thing. I’m so sorry to hear that but I’m not surprised. I hope you find relief. Thank you for watching.
I had a D&C in Jan 2021 it. It worked for a yr then started bleeding heavily for 3 1/2 months a year later. Just had a another D&C with ablation 8 weeks. Still bleeding and spotting. 5 iron transfusions from anemia. My body has decided to bleed itself to death before menopause. I’m over it. Next stop is hysterectomy. I’m 51.
Mine was ok till f=%^*n 9 post op . You can’t describe it better the pain is real . And they placed a Kyleena and it has moved :( pain pain pain every f day . Getting that out today
This video confused me. So you had a hysterectomy and a thyroidectomy?? How do you know where the issue is coming from? I might get a hysterectomy next month and I do have thyroid issues. These are very scary things for me to deal with. Ugh.. I hate this.
melissa a My thyroidectomy led to the NOVASURE Ablation which didn’t work and now today I’m recovering from a complete hysterectomy. The hysterectomy recovery has been so difficult. I still have my ovaries so my hormone levels will not suffer too much and mess with my thyroid levels.
Had my procedure June 2018 … it went well no bleeding since then… but I have a question about afterwards. Has anyone experienced mood swings or emotional changes after the Nova Sure procedure?
Mines in 3weeks😀😫... but I’ve read and asked my dr...no weight gain and this is a saint for those mood swings...I heard it even helps dealing with mental trauma.. can I ask how did it go
Cassie Marie everyone’s body is different - praying for the best. The women’s body is so complicated. This month was no different from the others for me :(
Hi I was nervous at first too the first few 2 days are a little rough some soreness in my fun fun zone ,was hard to sit or bend over but after that I was fine I only had light bleeding for a couple of hours and then it was gone so I hope all goes well for you and again you will be fine
@@October3074 I'm doing awesome no cramping, spotting nothing I still go through one of the motions lol chocolate and salt cravings other than that I'm great its been 3 months I'm glad I went ahead and took care of it
None of it works for me. I had my procedure June of 2017... it has not gone away. Ever. Every month. And it gets worse every month. I describe it the same way. Birthing contractions. Between the pain and not being able to have more children at the young age of 31... I wish I would have never gotten the procedure. I pay fir it if not physically then emotionally EVERY DAY.
Lizzett Alvarado my doctor told me that was the only think I can do. My doctor didn’t tell me enough. Which kinda discourages me from having another surgery thinking the first was going to help. Especially after him birthing all of my children...
I had mine in 2012 and m now experiencing periods again. Very very painful periods. The doctors all tell me its in my head and I am fine. But I feel like death

Omg!!! Thank you so much, I had mine done October 5,2022 a few weeks ago and I’m bloated, cramping like crazy and have to sleep with a heating pad.. I have pains that shoot through my stomach every 5 minutes and I was like what is going on.. Today is day 4..
Are you still experiencing? I am going through the same thing and I am on day 4 as well.

How are you feeling?
@@LizKrolProductions why did u have 2 have a hysterectomy? 😥

@@lizmarquez4611 based on what this lady saying I will suggest if you got a hysterectomy a lot of women had hysterectomy and please they rest in peace no more. No more worries no more pain nothing
Unfortunately, my first day with this operation and also my first day to follow you up, and now I feel regret and fear after I heard what You said😢
I'm having my surgery on May 2, 2019, I was happy that finally I will be heavy flow, fibroids and sharp pain free but now that you saying this I have to be REALLY prepared for what is going to happened after the procedure, thank you.

I had mine done exactly 1 week ago. First few days I was in pain. Bloated sicky feeling. I'm ok now.

Did you have any cramping after you procedure and if so for how long.
Yes I will do it when I have my days off from work.

I had one on 8/25/2020 waiting to see if it worked!
Update please...did it work
I had mine a month ago tomorrow and this morning I started my period..... normally day one is fairly light then day 2-5 are like a waterfall.....knowing me and my body I'm the 20% that continue to have periods monthly.
