I have a 2009 Challenger RT and man deleting those resonators makes a whole world of difference. I'm about to have them taken off. Muscle cars are not meant to be quiet! Sounds great!
Sounds good. That's my exact setup on my 5.7 charger (blastin bobs 9db delete pipes, dual 40s).. my gf drove it to work and I could hear my car like 8 blocks away from every stoplight. nice deep muscle car tone.. hard to tell from inside the cabin. Downshifts and takeoffs always turn heads.
Wow! What a difference! I just did the flows for now, it’s ok.. But my resos need to be out to get this sound! Awesome! Gonna do the blastin bobs ones...
I just wanted to say thanks for posting this video, I went with the same setup after watching your video on my 2015 Challenger RT. The sound is great and this setup save me about $600+ (considered a catback exhaust)
rjoh234 how is the drone inside the cab with the resonator delete. I have the delta flow 40 on now, but afraid if I delete resonators it will be to much drone inside the cab.
I had the auto transmission on this car. There was some moderate drone at around 1500rpm but none at higher or lower rpm's. Driving in auto-stick mode eliminated this.
I thought it sounded better with the factory mufflers. I never liked that baffled & chambered hollow-box sound that Flowmasters have. I think straight-through mufflers are way better for sound & performance. On my R/T I deleted the resonators and replaced them with shorty glasspacks...and I left the factory bottle mufflers.
I agree! A year ago I replaced my factory mufflers with FM 40's and kept resonators. It deepened the factory sound and seemed a little louder. 6 months ago I deleted my resonators. Although I routinely get compliments on its sound, it sounds VERY generic, cheap, echo-ish, and hallow. I dig the sorta muffled-raspy sound of the stock mufflers, so this week, back on they go!
Sounds great. You say the Flowmasters "did away with much of the drone" but is the drone still annoying? I have a '09 R/T and I am tempted to get Corsas because I hate drone, but Flowmasters have more low end growl. Also, Corsas sound more ricey during acceleration imo.
There was still drone at certain rpm's. I started driving more in autostick mode and there was less drone than ever. However, you're gonna hear it on a daily basis.
I have a 2009 RT as well. Took it too exhaust shop and asked for reso delete. Doesn't sound like yours...wish it did. Are resonators in rear? They took off the slimmer ones more in the middle of the car. I think they actually removed my mufflers. I'm not sure they really removed my resonators. I have a 6 sp. Do you know what my resonators should look like?
The resonators are the two "suitcase" boxes in the rear just in front of the rear bumper. The mufflers are the single or dual boxes located approximately beneath the driver's seat.
thanks so much. this is the best video on youtube. displaying resinator delete vs flowmasters
Sounds beautiful with the Flows!

Sam Jackson same question in EVERY exhaust video
chrisn365 I got it done already normal drone sounds good but thanks for reply
I think you'll like it. If you have the automatic, driving in auto-stick mode sounds even better.
This is an automatic. Yes, with the "suitcase" muffler changed out with the Flowmaster 40's.
You also had the resonators deleted with the delta 40 series muffler, correct?
Would love to hear this with turbo tubes or power sticks instead of the flow masters

+wetellitlikeitis Is the interior drone with 40 deltas loud enough to piss off any passengers? just curious, thanks
Dino D Just get some cutouts installed and problem solved 👍
Was this an auto with a suitcase muffler or a 6 speed with bottles?
Are these the delta flow 40s, original 40s, or super 40s?

That's what I was thing too. Thanks!
Can you do a video of the car with takeoff and acceleration
This is my plan, delete resonators, replace mufflers with 40s
Do people seriously think flow masters sound good?
