Hands down the best analogue emulation in a Digital world !!! Plugin companies do not put the amount of effort that you've put into this 22.39 minute Amazing Video Please continue this with many more plugins Thank you very much 👍
Love your explanation of tape formula and calibration. Started out on a TEAC tape machine and it really did have a tight warm character that is missing in the world of sterile digital. But emulations are getting pretty good. Like you said, knowing analog workflow will help you shape your sound in the box. Great work!
I started off on a 4 track reel back in the 90s. I gotta admit the appeal of tape for me is more that I really love the tape workflow. Gotta commit. Still, I've toyed about with the tape sims and its been a mixed bag so far. The wave ones have seemed kind of awful dynamics killers. But the softube ones feel pretty authentic, and I've stuck them early in the console one chain on channels and yeah it creates that nice warmth. Doesnt have the 'calibration' thing the UAD does. I do remember having to calibrate my old Teac 80 using my pop's signal generator, and it made all the difference in the world lol. One of these days I'm gonna have to find someone to service the old girl , because I really do miss that workflow even though the price of tape these days aint pretty.
