I thought the Studer still sounded really bright. Hard to tell without the mix for context, but assuming it was, would the next step be EQ with a wide band? I have a lot of problems with loads of resonances in the top end (too many to surgically EQ), but feel like broadband EQ causes the tone to lose its vibe.

I wonder how this compressor compares to the Shadow Hills and Manley Vari Mu...so far, I really like the layout and versatility of this one...

That is an interesting dynamic between your EQ and compressor, a nice illustration of the dynamic nature of processing in series. Your old school console style module has them in order.

And what can you say about the parallel processing technique in Studio One? What you are talking about, i.e. with sends to AUX works everywhere, but Studio One seems to have gone quite a bit further on this topic by introducing a splitter as a channel plug-in.

I think the Oxford gets overlooked because it’s been around for so long, but at the same time it just works great. It wins in most shootouts for me. This is the order that I prefer…. 1. Oxford 2. Ozone 3. L2

I tried it on some dialogue. Not bad. It requires roughly a little over 2x the CPU that Pro-C2 @2x oversampling takes. This would be a decent little processor to solve some problems. It remains to be seen if has the necessary flexibility that other compressors like Pro-C2 have. Certainly an interesting approach. Perhaps a 1/3 octave dynamic eq ?

Is it just a compressor? Because it sounds like there is some eq happening. I'm not an engineer so I might be wrong though. Results are quite impressive, the ones in the video and on the product page.

That's actually quite impressive, what it did to the drums. I am extremely wary of Waves as a company, so I sampled the drum bus playback from your video to see if I could get the same things to happen with other plugins. I tried compressors, resonance suppressors with compressors, but nothing I could think of would get the same result.

I bought mechanical license for both streaming and digital download for a holiday Xmas Cover song. I’m getting a lot of mixed info about the distribution from distrokid that it will block the remake for being available to be added to the instagram, TikTok and facebooks library. Even if I pay again for another mechanical license through distroKid, how do I get the song available on social media platform libraries to it can be added to reels and stories?

i dealwith distrokid. but I recently re-recorded a well known song BUT I used their instrument track and my song keeps getting flagged.. any way to get around this? you can call it a cover song, but the instruments are from the actual song because I'm a just vocalist/mixing engineer. (not an instrument player).. HELPPP!!!!!!

Emily, i purchased the Protools template sometime ago and i noticed it was set to 96 KHz. Do you use to mix in 96khz? Is it worth to work at a higher sample rate?
