At 1:02:00 why Steve didn't played gideon in order to kill Seth's planeswalker, instead he filled the board while the enemy plays with mass removals and pass to Seth the turn, when Steve now could use his Kalitas ability plus his planeswalker plus a mass removal. What a HUGE missplay there.
i am one that is thinking about starting up the game but a question for this match and several others i have watched...what is it that allows them to reach over to their side and get cards? I thought the only cards you have are those in your deck in front of you?
At 45:00 Steve atack the Jace with the Sylvan Advocated, the Jace has 6 counters on it, after atack, Jace down to 4, but the Syndicate have +2+2 because Steve controled 6 lands. Jace should down to 2 counters, no 4. At the next turn of Seth, he put minus 3 counter on Jace, to cast another spell from your graveyard, but Jace was with 2 counters on it, he can't play this. Big mistake!
Even if it triggers when she enters the battlefield? I didn't know abilities when entering the battlefield triggered on the stack. Thanks for the informations
He were not supposed to transform the Jace in 1:05:30 . Because Rebounded Anguished Unmaking was supposed to enter the exile zone and he simply put it to the graveyard (again). So many mistakes there.....
No, when a card with rebound is cast the first time, it goes to the exile zone. It will then then be cast from the exile zone next upkeep, and, since nothing tells the spell to do anything differently this time (rebound exiles the spell only if cast from hand), it will just do what instants and sorceries do normally after they are cast - go to the graveyard.
+ArMyMaN304 Because they come into play after languish resolves; meaning they were not on the battlefield at the time of languish's effect. Thus, they do not receive -4/-4 until end of turn.
Seth is one of my least favorite guys to watch. not because of his skills he is a great player obviously. but just the way he looks and the way he shuffles literally hurts to watch haha
He's like a grown up Brick from The Middle.. He's is a great player though, and tbh his shuffling and mannerisms don't bother me one bit. He probably has social anxiety. You guys might shuffle weird too, with the spot lights and cameras on you. I know I would. Cut him some slack..
also at 29:50 you are wrong Languish clearly states on the cards all creatures get -4-4 until end of turn so if he languished then killed everything thopters come in to play well guess what the thopters also get -4-4 they are a creature and the turn has not ended yet meaning the spell is still in effect over the rule bending
Incorrect, the -4/-4 only effects creatures on the battlefield at the time Languish was cast. "Until end of turn." means that creatures that don't die from Languish, i.e. 5 or greater toughness, get their toughness back at the end of the turn. It is not a static drain that kills creatures entering following the effect.
yeah i know this now a judge that was judging a game at a shop I use to go to was wrong so wrong that the guy he kept backing won the comp so yeah wasnt happy to find this out
I honestly feel like Seth Manfield had a better deck but lost majorly to terrible draws. no dou t that the weenie deck is great. I just personally beleive that had both player had a good draw the game would have been much closer to Seth's favor
omg i didnt know magic the gathering was a real card game, I thought it was only some shitty dirty asshole rigged online game. Lol. Who would ever spend money on such a stupid fucking game. The owners can't even make a randomized shuffler, I'd ber embarassed to tell anyone I've spent real money on such a shit stupid game.
I don't know what point of the match in particular you're talking about, but it's probably the case that the Languish is killing a Hangarback Walker (which creates thopter tokens when it dies). Sometimes if there were already thopter tokens on the battlefield the players will leave them as a shortcut, even though in fact they are dying, and then the Walker death trigger is creating new ones.
+ArMyMaN304 The languish doesn't work like Wrath of God,it only resolves once and makes everything get -4/-4.If a creature died this turn somehow summons tokens when it dies, these tokens don't get the -4/-4.
Actually(I don't rememebr exactlyto be honest) but Wrath of God was dealing 3 damage to every creature until the end of turn, that means everything that enters even if it's a token,it still gets that 3 damage unlike languish(where languish is one time effect).Wrath of God was constantly dealing 3 damage until the end of turn.I hope that it helps somehow :P
+Kostas Kavourinos wasn't Wrath of God the 4 mana "destroy all creatures" ? Edit: I think you mean anger of the gods. And anger of the gods would work the same way an languish with the only exception that hangar back walker wouldnt create tokens if it was killed by it since it would get exiled and not die.
+ArMyMaN304 It did kill the tokens in fact. But notice how next to the tokens, there is another Hangarback Walker. When it dies it produces two more tokens. The players took a shortcut in that they did not remove everything and then put two tokens into play, but instead just left the tokens there. The end result is the same.
"Seths 99 percent to win and Steve is 2 percent" I love LSV, by far my favorite commentator.
Followed by an affirming "checks out" 😝
Takes out Languish against tokens?
Are you baked?
Seeing the way Seth shuffle his deck gives me a good chuckle lmao xD
noticed that too... reminds me of how a kid would shuffle
+Louis Santo domino I'm a kid, I shuffle better than him. 9 considered a kid?
i was thinking the fact that he bends his cards 90 degrees when he shuffles makes me cringe
Somebody should make 10h video "Seth Manfield shuffling."
I Don't know how much money you get as a commentator, but wow Luis Scott Vargas you are a smart dude, you really know your cards :)
Any event LSV graces with his presence is a good event.
Seth's Esper control deck is "SICK!"
SoI standard was so nice
At 1:02:00 why Steve didn't played gideon in order to kill Seth's planeswalker, instead he filled the board while the enemy plays with mass removals and pass to Seth the turn, when Steve now could use his Kalitas ability plus his planeswalker plus a mass removal. What a HUGE missplay there.
+Kostas Kavourinos
At 1:02:00 it wasn't steve's turn, so playing gideon would be sort of difficult
18:22 ultimate price on 1/1 white and black Human Cleric creature token? Or am I missing something?
grasp of darkness not ultimate price.
westvale abbey was one of the funnest cards ever they don’t ever make fun cards anymore just tons of value stuff all the time now.
how does dromoka command work, still never got good use of it
i am one that is thinking about starting up the game but a question for this match and several others i have watched...what is it that allows them to reach over to their side and get cards? I thought the only cards you have are those in your deck in front of you?
You probably mean the tokens ?

+Filipe Dietrich yep, just saw that.
jace ability when it went up to 6 is to give the sylvan advocate -2/-0 bruh
When's the finals?
At 2:00
hoping steve wins the finals, awsome player
@43:39 How could he possibly ultimate price Archangel Avacyn since she is supposed to be indestructible?
Indestructible trigger on the stack, respond with ultimate price
Even if it triggers when she enters the battlefield? I didn't know abilities when entering the battlefield triggered on the stack. Thanks for the informations
Yeah, happened to me a while back, thats the only reason I found out
He were not supposed to transform the Jace in 1:05:30 . Because Rebounded Anguished Unmaking was supposed to enter the exile zone and he simply put it to the graveyard (again). So many mistakes there.....

why didn't anyone notice that Rubin didn't have double green to play Nissa in the last game,
Steve had oath of nissa on the board...
why doesnt languish kill the thopter tokens?
+ArMyMaN304 Because they come into play after languish resolves; meaning they were not on the battlefield at the time of languish's effect. Thus, they do not receive -4/-4 until end of turn.
1:03:36 A little burn of current girlfriend there from LSV?
around 44 minutes, shouldn't sylvan advocate of done 4 dmg to Jace?
+Ryan S Jace used its +1 on it
Does a judge tell Seth to watch his mouth @45:24
heard nothing.
50:50.... BOOM
I think Seth either toked up before the the match or he was tired cuz man he messed up in game 3
Seth is one of my least favorite guys to watch. not because of his skills he is a great player obviously. but just the way he looks and the way he shuffles literally hurts to watch haha
I couldn't agree more. it looks like his puppy just died on every play, and the shuffling makes me cry. but he is a fantastic player
He's like a grown up Brick from The Middle..
He's is a great player though, and tbh his shuffling and mannerisms don't bother me one bit. He probably has social anxiety. You guys might shuffle weird too, with the spot lights and cameras on you. I know I would. Cut him some slack..
that shuffle.
Steve. STOP BENDING AVACYN!!!!!!!!!
Blue mana source came one turn too late for Seth. Had he drawn into blue a turn earlier he would’ve probably won that game.
rubin cheated hhe didnt shufle seth's deck at 11:29
You could choose not to
but at tourament play at a pro tour you have too
+luke kamella nope
they must have changed that
also at 29:50 you are wrong Languish clearly states on the cards all creatures get -4-4 until end of turn so if he languished then killed everything thopters come in to play well guess what the thopters also get -4-4 they are a creature and the turn has not ended yet meaning the spell is still in effect over the rule bending

seth messed up game 3, going duress on a 1 card-in-hand is not the best move when he could of path the gideon and price the sylvan advocate..
that second match they fucked up on life totals, they didnt subtract 3 for the bounced anguished unmaking...
th-cam.com/video/n0hUF3-blgY/w-d-xo.html lol fully rekt
Hey Seth, not that I don't think you're a great player or anything but STOP BENDING THE DAMN THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!
5th lel
I honestly feel like Seth Manfield had a better deck but lost majorly to terrible draws. no dou t that the weenie deck is great. I just personally beleive that had both player had a good draw the game would have been much closer to Seth's favor
Control is so fucking boring.
Boards chock full of creatures bumping into each other turn after turn is so fucking boring.
A muslim walks into a bar and says "free shots for everyone"
Yikes, way to boring to watch after seeing arena lol
omg i didnt know magic the gathering was a real card game, I thought it was only some shitty dirty asshole rigged online game.
