If for some reason you’re reading this 5 years later, LSV references this match in one of his flashback challenges playing this deck. Ruben shouldn’t have emblemed Gideon because it cut off his Avacyn into 0 mana hanger back line, which would have won him the game I think? You can hear Ruben reference this in the after game talk with Luis. Super interesting gameplay.
Miss having a good Standard. Sure CoCo was everywhere, but at least theres more than 3 decks playable.
Coco siege rhinos and dragon lord ojutai were everywhere
@@badvoodoo2097 look at these games though, CoCo could be taken in so many directions. I think Cat/Oven is similar and each deck is the same, sure sometimes green, sometimes mono black, but always just the same loop.

+Jeremy Vane-Tempest that isn't really relevant, it's not very articulate. A writer typically doesn't use the same word over and over to describe something and thus her commentating has been sub-par.
The White Knights are the real problem. People are complimenting her based on her looks and gender and defending her off those merits alone, sickening really,

How Brad won the last Match?
They need to do a better job of displaying the cards that have been played. It would be very easy to do and it would make watching magic much more enjoyable.
how do you play ormendahl? it doesnt have any mana cost, also why do MTG players always shuffle their hand cards - does it make them look cool or why?
Well because ormendahl is a flip,card he dosent have any mana cost because he is a land but you have to pay five mama and sac 5 creatures to transform it. Also they shuffle so the cards they get are random and have fun

+Stephan Wyrsta Also important, it's distracting and makes it look like you have lots of different routes to take. Even if you have two lands and an emrakul in hand, they don't know if you're wondering whether to bolt or drop a creature or none of those.
+Stephan Wyrsta I don't know if it's a nervous thing or is meant to help them "get in the zone." Humans are very ritualstic and think better when we do things to a sort of rhythm. It's sort of like pacing while thinking.

The moment when Steve realised his mistake... I'm glad he won in the end! All the lines he figured out on this otherwise tough matchup show he is an amazing player!

yes i can go to a second g/b aristocrats deck with my meren edh deck
so this are some thoughts if you are going to keep gaby on the coverage team then pair her up with randy and marshall BECAUSE i think the way they interact and also how their voices sound fit each other
as with ian and tim ... there voices are far to "deep" compared to randys or gabys
marshall is the exception to those 3 guys because his voice is real soft on the ear
just to clarify i do not dislike any commentator but i dislike some pairs because its sometimes hard to concentrate just because their voices kinda fight each other
maybe im the only one that thinks so but maybe its something you should consider
+Ic3dsoul I don't care much about the sound of their voices together, but I do think that commentators should have chemistry. LSV and Marshall have the best commentary partially for this reason. That's not to say that the chemistry is bad here; it's pretty good. But Ian and Gabby totally didn't work. Ian is way too serious and Gaby doesn't bring much comic relief.
+Ic3dsoul actually it's just that her voice is really annoying and it's ok to say that. we don't need to sugarcoat the fact that not only is her voice annoying but her lets try and be super cute giggly girl act gets old real quick. as evidenced above many fanboys love she's an attractive woman and that is enough to like her. but she is a terrible commentator comparatively and the "i'm a girl and cute giggle" just irks me the wrong way

I've tested against this B/G deck a lot on magic online. The tactic seems to be just to reduce the number of their creatures. Play into the removal you have.

Vaerthelmn 52 Well they can just vomit their hand back out. Especially with Rites. But I guess that sets them back a few terms. My deck is a Naya midrange deck so Displacement Wave is not in my colours I'm afraid.

Vaerthelmn 52 Yep I have 3 in the sideboard though that is mainly there for humans to sure up and already good matchup. You have to be careful with it against this deck though and honestly I am not sure you should bring it in. Firstly Cutthroats mean you take a tonne from sweepers anyway. And husk can easily outgrow it.
+ScrapperTBP It still forces the opponent's hand, making them sac creatures when they otherwise wouldn't have. Not saying its amazing, but probably fine.

Haven't followed MTG in a few years... Really never thought I'd see a hot chick commentating.
So when Randy wonders why doesnt Brad go for planeswalkers with his World Breaker , but white mana sources instead, don't trust him and just RTFC (exiles artifact, enchantment or land). That would also explain why he scoops the very next turn: Narset ultimate and he can't cast non creature spells like Goggles and Fall of the Titans... It's rather lame that a hall of fame member focuses more on the results from other tables than the actual board state or player's strategy, that's what I'd like to hear from the commentators!

Ladies and gentlemen magic players of all ages please take note of how a professional magic players hands should be during a match, folded and calmly on the table not flicking through his cards or shuffling like an OCD person had a baby with an A.D.D person.
I was just going to comment that I had to stop watching after a few minutes, because they were both actually doing exactly that. Watch guy on right starting at 4:22 for over a minute, which is where I had to stop the video to keep my sanity.
I realize that this is two years old, but I flick my cards as I play because I am ADHD and it helps me to focus on the game.
Why does Gaby's vocabulary only include words such as "rumble" and "off the top"? I swear to God, every time she talks, she mentions "rumble" or "off the top", she needs to expand her vocabulary. Like, every time someone attacked, she's saying "oh, he will RUMBLE for 2"...bitch, this isn't WrestleMania.
Other than that, I guess she's trying to improve, so it's all good. Just, for the love of God, improve your vocabulary, it's like you're an elementary school level English speaker.
She's one fine little lady though....! :-)

Whoever the girl announcer is, remove her. She is literally just saying what is happening, which is partly what an announcer does, but doesn't put much input which is half to all. Usually good game announcers announces possibilities like two steps ahead or at least goes on to fun topics or tries to make it entertaining. She sounds like she's a golf announcer.
