  • Meet the Aeta Tribe of the PhilipPines. These indigenous people of the Philippines, known as the "Aeta", are a group related to the Negrito ethnic group who occupy Ifugao province of the Philippines They are characterized by their hight, kinky hair, and dark skin. The Negritos are thought to be one of the earliest inhabitants of the Philippines about 30,000 years ago.
    Most people think the Are a stolen tribe from Africa but According to historians, the Aetas are Australo Malesians, the same group of blacks found in Australia and Melanesians of Solomon Islands. While they do share a close resemblance with Africans, it is not clear as to how they arrived in the Philippines. There are several theories one of which is the 'The Land Bridge theory'

    I love this. I am an American Bla co woman. There was a Philippine couple who lived next door to me a couple of years ago. The wife always said that I looked like her grandmother. This couple was typical light Philippine in coloring. When I saw a picture of her grandmother, I was amazed. She looked like she could have been my sister. Very similar facial structure and coloring. The husband denied it. The wife loved that I looked like her grandmother. Never knew about the 'AETA' tribe until today. Fascinating. Thank You for educating us.

The Austronesian Filipino who originated from Taiwan which has that typical East Asian (China, Japanese, Korean) physical features and the Melanesian Filipinos which is the Aetas. However, only 1% of Melanesian lived in the Philippines during the pre-colonial era. Most Filipinos during pre-colonial are Austronesians (East Asian looking). I am sad to learn that they to are mis regarded when they should be appreciated. Our indigenous populations throughout the world, are testimonies to the wonders of nature, and should be protected as such. It is an error to infiltrate their culture with the false idea that others have more value than they do. We are only beautiful, as a global community, when we recognize ALL of us. Especially, acknowledging those who represent original cultures.

    There are so-called "Negrito" tribes scattered all across South Asia and South East Asia. They were the first humans to spread east from Africa across Southern Asia, New Guinea and Australia, around 70,000 years ago. They were later overwhelmed by waves of migration from northern Asia. The modern descendants of this early wave include the Australian Aborigines, the native people of Papua-New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, the various Negrito peoples scattered across southern Asia, the natives of the Adaman Islands, and the Ainu, who are the native people of Japan and the Kuril Islands. It is theorized people from this early wave may even have spread around the northern rim of the Pacific and populated the Americas about 10,000 years before the Amerindians descended from ancient Siberians crossed over the Bering land bridge during the last Ice Age.

    I became familiar with the Aeta's also during military service with the US Airforce in 1982. During temporary duty at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, a service friend guided myself and several others to a tribe/encampment actually living on the grounds of the base. We went to purchase the handmade traditional styled swords and knives that they would craft for collectibles. It was said that they were granted permission to reside on the base permanently due to their assistance with the (WWII) war effort. In recent years I have found it interesting that the average Filipino seemingly has no knowledge of them, or will not admit it. And sadly a significant trend in the Philippines currently is to use skin lighteners to look less brown and more to a perceived "white" ideal (as they view Japanese, Chinese, Koreans and Europeans).

They were negritos. A adult male negrito with us had black skin with kinky hair. He was very short maybe about 4 foot tall. He did have some Filipino facial features. But he had a great smile and was very polite. Nice people.

Though it's true that Aetas learned the languages of the place they now inhabit, some can't speak Sambali, the vast majority of older Aetas I've encountered (It's a very big number, I live in Zambales for crying out loud) and live in diverse conditions from begging, foraging, or having settlements. The Aetas came from the Out Of Africa migration about 50-40.000 years plus ago that turned EAST thru India and settled in SUNDALAND. Sundaland was a huge landmass where Island-Southeast Asia is today. It flooded when the Glaciers melted and the seas rose and flooded the area. So basically Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia were once Tops of Huge Mountains. There are also First Sundaland Peoples in the Andaman Islands and Malaysia.
    Although they resemble Continental Africans these People are, after thousands of years, have evolved genetically and became Southeast Asians. So in short the Aetas and the other Filipino Indigenous Groups are genetically clustered together, We are One and the Same.

    I would highly encourage people to stop using these Eurocentric colonial terms such as Negro and Negrito. These are all words focusing on skin color and the only ones that would focus on the dark skin color of people would be people who did not share in that skin coloration; so-called 'whites' who are not really white, more of a pinkish color. The preferred term would be 'Melinated/Melanated people', which ties us together from a bio-chemical source. We are who we say we are, not the people who hate us.

      You prefer the term melanated? Every one has melanin. There are three main types of melanin Eumelanin pheomelanin and neuromelanin. Black hair brown hair and eyes and freckles and getting a tan is all the production of eumelanin. It's ironic you want to be known by a term you don't even understand. What's even more ironic is melanocytes and melanin is a European discovery and was named by Europeans.

      @@IrishCinnsealach It is ironic and strange how you suppose that I do not understand what the word 'melanated' means. I really wasted my time getting my degrees in Chemistry/Biology, Human Genetics and even went to Med-school.
      And we all know that Europeans discovered EVERYTHING! They discovered America although millions of people were already there before the heathen Columbus arrived and that people from West Africa had already been there 900 years before Europeans. Have you never heard of the 'Olmecs' mister presumptuous?
      How about Thor Heyerdahl who sailed across the Atlantic in a 'reed ship' of the design of the true Ancient Egyptians? Now I am not talking about those phoney baloney Europeans portrayed in your movies like Edward G. Robinson, and Yul Brynner or Charlston Heston. The Aeta tribe has tribal status in the Philippines and thus are treated as basically a separate nation. This has led to deep ignorance of brown Filipinos' origin. Brown Filipinos are not part of a tribe but belong to the various ethnic groups of the Philippines. Nowadays, brown Filipinos believe to have originated from some separate brown race, not realizing that the recent ancestors of brown Filipinos are Aeta or other Melanesians. Brown Filipinos in the 19th century knew they were descended from Aeta or other Melanesians. Brown Filipinos get mistreated by white Filipinos because of being dark, but not aware that dark color is inherited genetically from dark or darker ancestors. Filipinos have to learn that black is the original color of Filipinos. It is through intermarriage and separation from Aeta or other Melanesian communities that Filipinos became brown.

    • @unemployedscholar4320
      @unemployedscholar4320 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @firespriteearthcrystals For the longest time, most people in the Philippines were aware that the typical brown Filipino had a big nose and straight hair, an obvious mix of an Aeta and a Spanish or a Chinese, or a mix of an Aeta and an Igorot. Native Mexicans look different in the north and south of Mexico. In the south of Mexico they are more black. A black person marrying an indio results in the looks of what used to be known as the typical brown Filipino: big nose and straight hair. I don't see what's the point of brown Filipinos denying this. Mexicans from North Mexico will not accept you as one of them, because that entails having 50% or more of Spanish ancestry. By the way, did you know that most Spaniards have black ancestry? So unless the Philippines is now full of German and Korean migrants, then the typical Filipino is still mixed with black.

      @@ellesf1606 Yes, that's my entire point. DNA tests are proving everything nowadays. They just aren't proving what you want them to prove and they aren't proving anything you are claiming, but quite the opposite.
      Everyone's ancestors go back to Africa 70,000 years ago. That's irrelevant and has nothing to do with skin tone. The lightest and darkest people's ancestors all derive from populations that live on the relatively irrelevant land mass known as "Africa", who were just part of a larger human continuum called Afro-Eurasia, which is a completely interconnected land mass. And our ancestors actually lived across the entire thing. It just so happens our line developed within the piece called Africa, but their ancestors came from all over the place, called Homo Erectus. But either way, that's 70,000 years ago.
      That has nothing to do with skin tone. Both extreme dark and extreme light tones are due to mutations. Darker tones tend to develop around the equator, lighter tones and subtropical climes, like in the Levant or Western deserts of China. But convergent evolution dictates equatorial populations become darker. Our ancestors were mostly of intermediate tones, as most humans are. But that doesn't dictate modern skin tone.
      For instance, Aboriginal Australians are descended from the same group that Irish, Russians, Finns, Mexicans, Chinese, Syrians, Arabians, North Africans and such come from. All populations outside of sub-Saharan Africa are more closely related to one another than those below the Sahara. Just on a population level. So Aborigianl Australians and Irish are more closely related than Aboriginal Australians are to say Nigerians. And we know this because of modern DNA testing. Which again, disproves what you stated.
      Skin color is completely irrelevant in terms of ancestry. You are just perpetuating the very foundations of racism brought to us by ignorant Europeans of the 16th century.

    • @jessereichbach588
      @jessereichbach588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ellesf1606 See my other reply where the DNA evidence overwhelmingly contradicts everything you just said.
      No, sorry sweetheart, its the opposite of what you suggest. DNA evidence is proving that Aboriginals, Negritos, melanesians, etc.. are all Eurasian and all descended from the Out of Africa migrations 70,000 years ago, just like all other Eurasian related populations ,Europeans, Near and Mid Easerners, East Asians, Amerindians etc.. And Papuans, Australians and such are no different.
      I provided actual evidence . ANd if you want more it's all over the academic web.
      I don't know what sources you are referring to, frankly, it sounds like you are just making thins up. But if you are like referring to Clyde Winters, or some fake hebrew israelite internet meme, then that doesn't count as evidence. Ok, Francois Marie and Roy Brawn don't count as evidence. Che Diop doesn't count as evidence. From Babylon to Timbuktu doesn't count as evidence.

For example, a dark skinned South Indian won't looked like a dark skinned Chinese even if they have the same skin color since they're from different race. Negritos are Australoid not Mongoloid. So, a dark skinned mongoloid Filipinos are different from Aetas/Australoid.

      Would you say a lot of them are now mixed blooded especially if they live in the cities and that the more pure blooded ones tend to live in the countryside ?

      @@dondieseliman654 indeed I would. Filipinos are a mixed race of people today. But 10s of thousands of years ago they weren't. I've seen them in every color of the rainbow

      @@milesdavis8665 filipinos are not mixed race.. we're most pure if you compare to Indonesia and Malaysia.. just look at Igorot people in the Philippines who weren't assimilated any religion and wasn't conquered by spanish and most isolated place.. Igorot people have pure Austronesian in their DNA.. that's how majority filipino looks today.. you can tell different between Austronesian and Negrito people.

    Awesome content. My fiancee is from the Philippines and she told me about these people years ago.
    It is so sad that in many nations the darker skinned people are pushed to the background just to promote the whiteness of the invaders of that nation. I am glad you are brave enough to bring forth real content. There are many who will not like it. Keep up the good work

    I was pleasantly surprised to see this video...shows that you put a lot of effort into your work! Respect. Keep it up!
    I am from the Philippines and I recently discovered your channel. Nice place to learn about your people! There are some African people (women) here that I am not sure where they are from...Nigeria I guess? They are here for school mostly. Beautiful women! I must come up to them sometime and say hello :)
    I think Kerry Washington and Alicia Keys are VERY ATTRACTIVE women!
