  • In Part 2 of "African Tribes of the Philippines", I spend the night in the village of the Aetas, one of the many groups of Negritoes that migrated out of Africa about 70,000 to 20,000 years ago. I learn more about the Aeta's culture, their history with the U.S military, and discuss some of the challenges the Aetas face today.

You make a fool of yourself not doing your own homework and believing every stupid thing you find on the net. Be proud of yourself and who you are for being you and don't try to be proud threw others. It will not make you happy. Only you threw acceptance can make yourself happy for loving who you are.

      They are NOT of African descent except in the same sense that all Homo Sapiens are. Genetically, even Europeans are closer to Africans than the melanated people of the Pacific are. A white colored wolf is not a white German Shepherd. Aboriginals, New Guineans, and Jarawa are not AFRICAN either. These melanated people were the first to leave Africa, which is why they have the most genetic distance from Africans while sharing SIMILAR characteristics as far as color and hair in some instances

There are some people who are making stories about them hating others or the other way around but the reality is that we love each other. We can't deny that there are some people who doesn't know about the history so they are looked by others as ignorant.

    I’m Filipino with Aeta/Afro Filipino decent. I can confirm that there are African decents and definitely hidden clues and histories from the diaspora in the Philippines considering all of the ancient history was burned by the Spanish when they took over in the 1400s, original Filipino religious practices (pre catholicism) have many similarities to the Orisha/Yoruba culture from Nigeria/Africa (ex: Bathala/Obatala). We even share the same words in our language with our brothers/sisters in Madagascar (Salamat/Sarap/Anak)! Im heavy on the #panafrican movement & recognition, thank u for shining light on the islands 😭 the roots are all in the scalp
    edit: I see a lot of “they are not african”/“the dna is not of comparison” 🤥, which is.. given per say, I guess considering eventually that’s what happens when people migrate from one part of the world to another (evolution/diaspora). I suggest everybody do some research on the “moros” of the filipinos in comparison to the beliefs of what is known as the “moors”. Don’t conform to westernization. There is Unity in Diversity. Please also keep in mind that not EVERY filipino will be of decent, the Philippines was a melting pot of exchange in the ancient times, from Islamic Settlers to the Chinese&Japanese empires, and Spanish Colonization (hence why some filipinos look more east asian than others and why some look caucasian). We have always been a region that redefined the boundaries of race, but it is IMPORTANT that we do not forget our roots, bc westernization is the reason why aboriginal culture has died out.. Love and Light ❤️

      @asmrjackunboxinggames4328 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      The association of ugliness and poverty to dark skinned people was not made by Spanish colonizers. It is made by Filipino-Chinese Communities who believes dark skinned people as peasants and American Colonizers who believes Black People are not equal to Whites. In fact, Spain encouraged interrracial marriages between native population and european immigrants in its colonies during the Spanish Colonization resulting to mixed-raced population called Mestizo.

      Majority of Filipinos are naturally brown skinned but so many of them are using skin whitening products to look "white" or the new thing now is to look more like a Korean popstar with the milky white skin. As a Pinoy, it's quite embarrassing to see because you have all of these Filipinos living in poverty but are more concerned with their skin tone.

      There's a lot of misconceptions in the comments section. Yes, Aetas migrated from Africa 70,000 years ago, but Europeans migrated from Africa 40,000 years ago. In other words, Europeans migrated out of Africa more RECENTLY than Aetas, making Europeans MORE CLOSELY RELATED to Africans than Aetas are. Indeed, this has been confirmed by genetic studies.
      In other words, Aetas aren't African. Their closest genetic relatives are Asians and Melanesians.

    For those interested in educating themselves about the origins of the Aetas, you can google "Beachcomber migration from Africa" to have a better understanding on the subject.The Aetas were probably the first group to arrive and inhabit the Philippines, and are real Filipinos absolutely,but I would argue that the majority of Filipinos with Austronesian ancestry,among others, are "real Filipinos" too :-) .Finally, I salute Travel and Truth for recognizing the Aeta people,a gentle and peaceloving folk,as their own.

Now i believe its becoming more modernized and people don't learn jungle survival techniques anymore.
