    Brilliant video. I'm three hours from home with an under boost fault code P0299, just watched this video and had a look at the take off for the MAP sensor and it was blocked solid, Cleaned out and all running spot on. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. Legend.

    Thank you. I had have an over boost problem resulting in the Triton going into limp mode - can barely reach 80 km/h on a straight road. After watching your video I had a closer look under the hood and found the little rubber pipe to have come completely off, but on the map sensor side, in other words not at the brass nipple on the intake side. I have connected and secured it with a cable tie and will take it for a test drive a little later.

    I had exactly the same problem on my L200 2007...its working again now, but i will ( at some point) clean out the intake Manifold.

    Definitely going to try this, maybe you can also advice if you have ever had this issue: bakkie drives fine then randomly will lose power, if i put clutch in i can rev well over 4000 rpm, but in gear not over 2000rpm, however if i come to a complete stop then i can ride fine again, engine light doesn't come on, ABS light came on once then i changed brake pads and it went off, your help will be much appreciated

    Will there be any fault codes that need resetting if I take off the intake manifold and clean it and replace it?

      @@Anthony-p2f7u Sorry for the late reply. There should not be any codes if everything is bolted back correctly. If there are any, just reset them and check again.

    A problem i am having with my bakkie
    2010 Mitsubishi Triton 2.5DID 4x2 manual transmission.
    Please help.
    When I engage reverse... My bakkie is switching off if I go above 1500rpm.
    This is only happening in reverse.
    Any idea what would be causing this?

      @@mssalejee3948 Hi there. That sounds like a tricky one.
      Maybe it is caused by something that is happening because of the way the engine is twisting the opposite way when you reverse. Maybe try to see if there is an engine mounting damaged. Keep the park brake on and let go of the clutch to see if the engine is lifting out of the mountings. If that is the case, try to see if the wiring harness that is connected to the engine maybe move.. It could be that there is a loose connection or maybe a damaged wire or plug in the loom.

    Thank you so much for the video man!!! Quick question, what is a healthy rpm to shift between gears with 2.5 Di-d 4x4? It seems like I only get a turbo feel in 3rd gear after 2000rpm is this normal?

      Hi mate. You're welcome. I normaly change at 2500 urban use and 3000 when in a hurry. The power only kick in from 200rpm as this is where the turbo starts to work.

    Hi mate and thanks for the video. When I insert the wire it only goes in 10mm or so into the manifold and it hits something solid - it does not go right in like yours does. It does not feel like soot build-up that the wire is hitting - I think I need to remove the manifold and take a look in there.

      Hi mate it's probably blocked. Another thing you can do is to take a small drill bit that will fit inside the nipple and drill the carbon buildup untill you are all the way in. There is nothing inside that you will damage. Just make sure the drill bit can't fall inside. You can drill it out using a vise grip and your hand. No need for a drill. I hope this helps mate.

      If the carbon buildup is at that stage of forming a solid layer inside the manifold you will have to remove it at some stage and have it cleaned out. The problem with the buildup is that it restrict airflow into the combustion chamber aswell and that causes power loss and higher fuel consumption as well.

      @@howtoplanet2086 Hey mate you were 100% spot on! I pushed a drill bit in and gave it a twist and felt it punch through a wall of soot build-up. The car now drives well and does not go into limp mode. I am dreading taking the manifold off - it's a prick of a job and those two rear bolts near the firewall are a bugger to get to. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me and for your help - it is very much appreciated. Go the Wallabies!

    Dear sir i rebuiled my L200 engine but after 20 kelometer smoge up from oil guage the time of rebuiled i settled cylinder new sleeve and new piston and new ring but don.t know why white smoge pull up from the oil guage

      Hi Mr. There could be many reasons for that. It can be a damaged or upside-down ring or it can be a matter of the rings still need to set. You will have to take it to a machanic to findbthe the problem.
