Matt, this is a hobby for most of us. 3k for BOTH a high end PC system and high end VR headset is a drop in the ocean, compared to flying a real plane.
Im running low settings acoss the board in VR with a 3060, and i7-6700 (could be older than some current simmers), scenery looks like mid range msfs X, but the avionics are clear enough and the fps is doable. That said, DCS runs like a greased lightening in VR, also msfs 2020 is much easier in VR. All using VD with a wifi 5 connection 1200 mbps
“Breaking the bank” is very different for everyone. 4k a month to some is rich, to others it’s ok but not great. My point is peoples accounts aren’t the same and the best way to get a PC cheap is build one yourself but be prepared to sacrifice time searching good deals to get it
Many people either don't have the knowledge, confidence or motivation to source and build their own PC's, not to mention the 3 year warranty. It's a great deal for a high end PC system.
Hi Steve, I just invested in a Quest 3, and I'm actually watching your video in virtual desktop (auditorium, yeah) My gpu is still a trusty old rtx2080ti and it performs using air-link equally good or perhaps even better compared with the G2. So I'm wondering if the difference in performance is worth enough to buy a rtx4070 ti super... I expect the 4000 series prices will drop, so I'm not in a hurry.
I wouldn't count on price drops with current GPUs, nVidia doesn't have "Price Drop" in their vocabulary! LOL Like the 3000 series, they might go on sale to get rid of inventory when the 5000 series releases, but they may just disappear do to 4000 no longer being manufactured at some point, from what I understand 4090 and 4080 are no longer being made! :(
I had a i5 6400k with a 2080ti and 32 GBts RAM. It was not good enough. I gave it to my Grandson ( and his father ) and they play Forza Motorsport and have never moaned. I have a i9 13900k with 4070ti and 32 GBts RAM and this machine struggles. Put TLOD down to MED to get 45 fps. My opinion is ASOBO and MS included too much TLOD. Aviators don't need to see every leaf on every tree. What they need to see is a crisp view of the runway from 5 miles out. On approach to an airstrip, beyond 15 deg each side of the airstrip can be blurred out, because it's not looked at. This package is for the affluent.
I'm using Virtual Desktop on Quest 3 and it's crashing. The game doesn't crash, but I need to exit VD and re-enter it, even at 40 FPS. What could it be?

I'd say yay... You have good content but you know it's law in the UK to be transparent that you earn from your referral links.
Hi Chuck. Correct the video is not sponsored. But I do have affiliate links for those who wish to support my content. Plus, you get a nice discount. This is very clearly stated in the description. But thankyou so kindly for your concern.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Not my concern, just looking out for others that may miss the fact that you earn on sales of the products, like I missed it in the description. Indeed you are, it's the reason I'd like to know though, is it too provide value or to sell products, specifically 2-3 companies products. If I where ordering something off of Amazon and the review of the product was affiliated that would mean the review is tainted and the reviewer would likely have incentive to push said product to make more money...
9800X3D, 4090, 64gb RAM, but still playing on my old Reverb. I just can't decide which hmd should I buy next. Too much complaint against Pimax, Quest 3 is not for simmers...we will see.
If you can afford all that, I don't know why you wouldn't try out a Quest 3 just to see the difference. (imo it easily has the most bang for the buck) If you didn't think it was a worthy upgrade, you could always return it and keep using the G2.
My current PC is similar spec (slightly lower) but guessing my internet speed is going to be more of an issue for MSFS2024. Without going for something like Starlink, it seems 40Mbps is fastest download speed for my area which I'm guessing isn't going to be fast enough? Still enjoying MSFS2020 though on the Quest 3 and last few months has been the smoothest it has ever run :-)
I have a 9800x3d with a 4080 super, and i can tell you that is not enough for a pimax crystal light. Maybe when I spend 3k on a 5090. Maybe then I can run the headset at full tilt. Yeah it will work but you have to turn all the settings way down. Trust me. You need a super computer for getting the most out of the Pimax crystal. My quest does a much better job at running all my sims but the colors are way way better on pimax
i currently own a rtx rog strix 4070 ti oc, with a intel 14900k, nvme and 64 gb ram, with a reverb g2 on windows 11 23h2... would you recommand me to upgrade with pimax light, and windows 11 24h2 ? or my reverb and pimax are note a huge update ? considering the GPU and CPU, would pimax be a better, slightly better aor a lot better than reverb g2 ? thanks!
Dont you feel its better to spend a little bit more and getting the 4080 super since 4070 ti super price is just too expensive for a midrange GPU compared to the 4070 super.
i wouldnt consider a 4070Ti Super midrange - thats highend in my book. Midrange would be 4060, 3070, RX7700XT etc... Highend then extends to the 7900XTX and 4080 super. The 4090 is enthusiast level or the "2 grand is nothing for me" people... Low end would be 3050, 1660 etc...
Well! VR is good to look around, but inside the cabin, instruments does not look good. They are blurry. Hard to read. If you are flying IFR, it is annoying after a while.
@@VRFlightSimGuy It is Oculus 2 but I see that other newer VR's are having the similar issues. Text on the instruments are blurry. Can you see the text clearly on the cockpit?
I love your videos, mate, but I am sorry a 4070 STi is nowhere near mid-specs. It is the top 5 of the tens or even hundreds of different GPU models available on the market. It is even faster than the 3090, which was the flagship of last gen. It also costs around $1000, so it's not cheap either. Here are my specs, and I consider myself lucky and above mid-specs. Asus ROG Strix 3090, 5800X3D and 32Gb RAM. I use it with my Quest 3, and it does a great job.
Thanks for your comments. This video is intended to show that a 4070ti S, especially at the price of under 2k, is fantastic value for money, given the fact it's running MSFS 2024 in VR with such great visuals.
@VRFlightSimGuy that is a very valid point. Saying you don't have to buy a 4090, you can go with a 4070STi for half the price and get 80% of the performance is a very good calculation. However, calling it mid-tear system just sounds inaccurate. That is just my opinion, and I still appreciate your work.
@FlightSims-v4p In that case, if we are being honest, even a 4090 is mid-tear considering you can't even get 30 fps with the latest VR headset, native resolution, Ultra settings and no DLSS. VR is just way too performance hungry for what we have available. Even the 5090 won't be able to handle it at full settings. However, I think it is more accurate to compare it with what exists on the market. In that case, being in the top cards, it shouldn't be considered mid-range.
@@MegaIronica So lets pick this apart. VR needs what in abundance to run smooth?- VRAM. The 5090 has 32G. Isn't that enough? Every time NVIDIA and AMD puts out new hardware, I can bump my VR settings up more. I started this hobby out at low settings, now I am at medium/high settings with a 4090 with only 24G of VRAM. Come back and yack at me when I have my 5090 and 8000 series AMD next year and we will talk MFSF settings in VR.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Was the premis not to make MSFS2024 run well on an average system? I just compare to DK prices where Im from. And 3K pounds is way more than the average gamer can afford here.
Note to all: Get am AMD X3D cpu and stay away from Intel. Intel is expensive, draws lots more power, and nowhere near as good performance in msfs! 7800X3D and 4070ti super is the sweet spot for value. In America, about $2300 for entire computer. If you get a 7800X3D, then be sure to "park it" to make sure it uses the large cache layer first. 4070 ti super 16GB RAM. 4070, 4070 ti, and 4070 super all have only 12 GB. Get the ti super with 16GB.
Please don't spread misinfo. 7800x3D only has one CCD, which contains the vcache. No need to "park" anything, you are thinking of the chips with two CCDs, where only one has the vcache

Since when was £3000 to play a game, value for money for those on a budget? That's a huge chunk of the money needs for a PPL!
Matt, this is a hobby for most of us. 3k for BOTH a high end PC system and high end VR headset is a drop in the ocean, compared to flying a real plane.
@@VRFlightSimGuyyeah and buying a hamburger is a drop in the ocean compared to owning a cattle ranch, but I wouldn't exactly compare the two.
Can you please test your system with the pimax on the pmdg 737? Much appreciated 🙏
I run this at a mix of high and ultra on a RTX3060 12GB with a Ryzen 7 2700x and 64GB Vengeance LPX ddr4 ram
7800x3d , Zotac 4090 , 32GB, G2
I’m using a 4070 and with a amd 5600x. Quest 2
I have a configuration, I7 14700kf, 64GB ddr5, geforce rtx 4070ti super 16Gb. Does pimax cristal, cristal light work with it? I'm considering buying.
That's awesome! I'd definitely wait, once the 50 series cards come out, I expect the prices will drop
I wouldn't count on price drops with current GPUs, nVidia doesn't have "Price Drop" in their vocabulary! LOL
Like the 3000 series, they might go on sale to get rid of inventory when the 5000 series releases, but they may just disappear do to 4000 no longer being manufactured at some point, from what I understand 4090 and 4080 are no longer being made! :(
Did you see any FPS improvements in VR with latest patches?
negative
Video not sponsored, but aren't those affiliate links in your bio, do you not get commission for each sale of storm force pc's and pimax crystals that you are pushing in all your videos? I'd say yay... You have good content but you know it's law in the UK to be transparent that you earn from your referral links.
Hi Chuck. Correct the video is not sponsored. But I do have affiliate links for those who wish to support my content. Plus, you get a nice discount. This is very clearly stated in the description. But thankyou so kindly for your concern.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Not my concern, just looking out for others that may miss the fact that you earn on sales of the products, like I missed it in the description. Should be stated in the video, otherwise people if they were to find out later may feel they have been duped. Thank you kindly for your prompt reply 😆
@@chucka66 My pleasure, I'm always here for you Chuck, you know this 😉
Indeed you are, it's the reason I'd like to know though, is it too provide value or to sell products, specifically 2-3 companies products.
(imo it easily has the most bang for the buck)
If you didn't think it was a worthy upgrade, you could always return it and keep using the G2.
Hold on... I may have something special to show this week..
@@jessekoepp3928 I'm thinking on it...
@@VRFlightSimGuy You saucy tease! 🧐
Get the Quest 3 …. Small price for relatively decent upgrade
Of course it's not enough. But you can run it if you are careful with your settings.
i currently own a rtx rog strix 4070 ti oc, with a intel 14900k, nvme and 64 gb ram, with a reverb g2 on windows 11 23h2... would you recommand me to upgrade with pimax light, and windows 11 24h2 ? or my reverb and pimax are note a huge update ? considering the GPU and CPU, would pimax be a better, slightly better aor a lot better than reverb g2 ? thanks!
Pimax Crystal LIGHT works so well with this GPU 😊
Dont you feel its better to spend a little bit more and getting the 4080 super since 4070 ti super price is just too expensive for a midrange GPU compared to the 4070 super.
i wouldnt consider a 4070Ti Super midrange - thats highend in my book. Midrange would be 4060, 3070, RX7700XT etc... Highend then extends to the 7900XTX and 4080 super. The 4090 is enthusiast level or the "2 grand is nothing for me" people... Low end would be 3050, 1660 etc...
Even more so once the 50 series come out early next year 👍
could you test a quest 3 with the 4070ti super?
Sure 😊
I9 14900K 4090 96GB DDR5 4 TB nvme
Well! VR is good to look around, but inside the cabin, instruments does not look good. They are blurry. Hard to read. If you are flying IFR, it is annoying after a while.
Depends which VR headset you are using?
@@VRFlightSimGuy It is Oculus 2 but I see that other newer VR's are having the similar issues. Text on the instruments are blurry. Can you see the text clearly on the cockpit?
mid range 4070 ti super.. bleehH!! its wihat i just got after a rtc 3060ti oc ,
I love your videos, mate, but I am sorry a 4070 STi is nowhere near mid-specs.
Its a matter of perspective. For ordinary computer buyers yes. But for PCVR and PC enthusiasts, it is indeed mid - specs.
Ha, ha, ha, Steve 4070 ti super is a cheap PC for you? It is currently one of the most powerfull GPU !!!
YES. Thankyou for proving my point. A top end GPU for a great price. That's the point of this video :)
I don’t trust reviewers with referral links 😂
Plenty people trust my channel as you can see. But fair enough. Thx for stopping by 👍
LOL 3000 punds is NOT a normal gamers budget.
3k for BOTH a high end PC system and high end VR headset is fantastic value.
@@VRFlightSimGuy Was the premis not to make MSFS2024 run well on an average system?
I just compare to DK prices where Im from. And 3K pounds is way more than the average gamer can afford here.
👍👍👍👍👍
running a 4090 64 ram and a 9800x3d
What VR headset are you using?
@FlightSims-v4p The PCL.
Midrage graphic card = 800€ 😁😁
3080 with i5 and Quest 3 .... tried it 3 times.... frames and artefacts.... sharpness not practibal.... don't like MSFS2024 or 2020
4070 ti is midrange? .. ffs
Even more so once the 50 series come out early next year 👍
That is not a mid range pc lol
Then it's even more of a great deal! :)
Note to all:
Get am AMD X3D cpu and stay away from Intel.
7800X3D / 5090 first impressions live early next yr ;)
Sorry to the guy and gals that are living paycheck to paycheck and go to work on a bus coz you can't even afford to run a car. 3000 quid is a lot of dosh. Keep getting out of bed in the morning and work hard. I know it's not easy. You will get noticed and move up and if you don't, spend an hour a week looking for your next move. Network with people as much as you can. Good luck.
How do you rate 4070-ty
I've got vids on the channel James. Although it was a while ago now!
