    Most have a 3060ti. All the mid range PCs (costing about a grand) were loaded with this card over the last few years. One could only wish to have 3 grand to spend on a PCVR set up.
    To do a honest, budget video would be to get a Quest 3 and see how well a 3060ti runs MS2024.
    If it can't then the answer is no.

      That's pretty much what I'm rocking (with a pretty decent CPU and 16gigs of DDR5 ram) and I tried one time to see how MSFS2020 would perform in VR, and it wouldn't even launch the VR mode.
      Which was pretty much what I was expecting anyways, so it wasn't like I was "crushed" I couldn't do it.

    The wonderful thing about the Crystal Light is it's resolution and pixel density, thus being able to lower the resolution and still have it look good.
    I run mine at 0.9 (90%) in the Pimax Play software and at TAA 60% in MSFS 2020 using DX11. Yes, it sounds awful but yet looks pretty good with decent frame rates (40 to 75 fps depending on scenery and altitude). MSFS 2020 settings are high but not overly.
    Using a 7800X3D, 64 gigs RAM and a 4090.
    When "Ai Autopilot" becomes a thing in 2024, I'll buy it since I really like just sight seeing more than flying myself, not much of a pilot due to lack of interest. Yes, I know about the ai autopilot hack of copying a folder from 2020 to 2024 to get "ai autopilot" but I heard from many it doesn't work very well.

      @@ThorNjord wow true fanboy 😂 true he makes money from monetization off of TH-cam but the fact of the matter is the bias. Pushing storm force PC's down all the simmers throats with out reviewing other competitors. The reason being he is not partnered with others like overclockers, scan, ebuyer etc. Plus there's plenty of small independent builders on the likes of gum tree and Ebay (and cheaper). The fact he says in several of his videos he ONLY TRUSTS STORM FORCE is just a bull affiliate sales tactic...
      Normally I don't have time to write comments on yt, but when he says a £3k build is cheap it causes the guy in the street on min wage to think, I got have that, I say this cos I seen a comment saying that very thing and he got a loan for a PC that he stated he couldn't afford.

      @@chucka66 Geez take a chill pill. Why don't you choose another of the one million channels if you feel like anything is shoved down your throat? Or better yet, why don't you start your own and see how much work it is? I am an adult and I fully know Steve is monetizing his channel. I know it can mean bias, even in the most honest and good intentioned TH-camrs. Don't worry, I can 100% keep my wallet under control so the money does not fly out of it by itself. And I independently research products and companies before I buy them.
      Now a MESSAGE FOR STEVE @vrflightsimguy: I have access to the effects of influencers on sales directly from attributed data which I have analyzed (albeit in a completely different industry). Most influencers have little impact. But a minority of them have a HUGE impact on sales and some of them are unaware of that and are very poorly compensated. Make sure you ask for the sales generated by your product placements to make sure you are pricing your monetization adequately. Also if you have an agent, make sure he/she is really good. Peace and keep up the good work.

I used to own a Reverb G2, which I sold as soon as support closure was announced (eBay). PCL is WAY better. colors, sharp image, wide sweet spot, wide pov, and absolutely positively fires up whenever I flip the toggle lever on my Warthog throttle (to turn VR on and off). The best thing is the clear images even with settings turned down. I did not send the lenses back to Pimax because they arrived and worked perfect, right off the bat.

    I love your videos, mate, but I am sorry a 4070 STi is nowhere near mid-specs. It is the top 5 of the tens or even hundreds of different GPU models available on the market. It is even faster than the 3090, which was the flagship of last gen. It also costs around $1000, so it's not cheap either.
    Here are my specs, and I consider myself lucky and above mid-specs. Asus ROG Strix 3090, 5800X3D and 32Gb RAM. I use it with my Quest 3, and it does a great job.

    • @VRFlightSimGuy

      Thanks for your comments. This video is intended to show that a 4070ti S, especially at the price of under 2k, is fantastic value for money, given the fact it's running MSFS 2024 in VR with such great visuals.

    • @MegaIronica
      @MegaIronica หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @VRFlightSimGuy that is a very valid point. Saying you don't have to buy a 4090, you can go with a 4070STi for half the price and get 80% of the performance is a very good calculation. However, calling it mid-tear system just sounds inaccurate. That is just my opinion, and I still appreciate your work.

    • @FlightSims-v4p
      @FlightSims-v4p หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its a matter of perspective. For ordinary computer buyers yes. But for PCVR and PC enthusiasts, it is indeed mid - specs.

    • @MegaIronica
      @MegaIronica หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FlightSims-v4p In that case, if we are being honest, even a 4090 is mid-tear considering you can't even get 30 fps with the latest VR headset, native resolution, Ultra settings and no DLSS. VR is just way too performance hungry for what we have available. Even the 5090 won't be able to handle it at full settings. However, I think it is more accurate to compare it with what exists on the market. In that case, being in the top cards, it shouldn't be considered mid-range.

    • @FlightSims-v4p
      @FlightSims-v4p หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MegaIronica So lets pick this apart. VR needs what in abundance to run smooth?- VRAM. The 5090 has 32G. Isn't that enough? Every time NVIDIA and AMD puts out new hardware, I can bump my VR settings up more. I started this hobby out at low settings, now I am at medium/high settings with a 4090 with only 24G of VRAM. Come back and yack at me when I have my 5090 and 8000 series AMD next year and we will talk MFSF settings in VR.

    Note to all:
    Get am AMD X3D cpu and stay away from Intel. Intel is expensive, draws lots more power, and nowhere near as good performance in msfs!
    7800X3D and 4070ti super is the sweet spot for value. In America, about $2300 for entire computer.
    If you get a 7800X3D, then be sure to "park it" to make sure it uses the large cache layer first.
    4070 ti super 16GB RAM.
    4070, 4070 ti, and 4070 super all have only 12 GB. Get the ti super with 16GB.

      Please don't spread misinfo. 7800x3D only has one CCD, which contains the vcache. No need to "park" anything, you are thinking of the chips with two CCDs, where only one has the vcache

    Sorry to the guy and gals that are living paycheck to paycheck and go to work on a bus coz you can't even afford to run a car. 3000 quid is a lot of dosh. Keep getting out of bed in the morning and work hard. I know it's not easy. You will get noticed and move up and if you don't, spend an hour a week looking for your next move. Network with people as much as you can. Good luck.
