    UPDATE: I am still using the Wacom Intuos. I prefer the size over the Pro and did not use the additional features. Also, the thinner pen was better for my hands in the long run! 😊

      I just had a question about getting the software to get the wacom to work. On the Amazon reviews there are people saying it's a nightmare to get. Do you know if this has changed now by 2022? I am thinking about getting the cheaper one just for photo retouching.

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Hector Garcia I haven't used the bonus art software it comes with (if that is what the reviews are referring to) but in terms of getting the Wacom application software to work and using it with Adobe Creative Suite was seamless for me with all four Wacoms I've owned thus far.

    Thank you so much for helping me choose my artistic 14 year old daughter's first digital drawing tablet for Christmas! I especially appreciated your comments on tablet size. Another review mentioned smaller size was better for preventing wrist fatigue but it's so important to get additional feedback from an artist. I'd rather spend the extra money on digital programs or a class for her. Her cousin has a $900 screen tablet and I could never afford that.

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope she loves it! The big ones are cool, but these little ones are so functional, easy to use, and affordable. The tablet also will likely come with a drawing program (or programs) to start with too :)

    I use the Wacom intuos pro medium for work that requires me to write using the tablet and the medium size really help there. For anything where you don't want to/cannot pan around (writing/lettering or long brush strokes) or if you want to see more of the image while paining (less zoom required) the medium or large sizes are great.

  • @f4qebutuoy595

    I guess if the style requires broader strokes of the pen or brush, you would go for a larger surface so your arm could move the full range naturally. If you do fine work, you would probably be better with a small size.

    Do you think Smaller Pen tablets are good enough for Note Taking ? I wanna gift it to my sister who is a professor and its solely for Note taking. She would prefer if its small and cute but im not sure if it will do the job done.

    So useful! Thank you for your review, I’ve been using a display tablet but would like to go back to a non-display due to chronic neck pain and was wondering which to get. I want to use it to draw a comic series but I’m BIG on the feel of a pencil so I love that you prefer the Intuos for its “scratchy” feel and that the pen feels like a mechanical pencil. I think I’m sold hahaha Thanks!!!

    I agree, intuos or babambo or one by wacom ( they are the same thing) are better than the pro. I have always owned medium size, I have One By Wacom now it has no shortcut buttons no touch capability and have no margin, I think the one by wacom is the best wacom design ever. by the way you can rotate the display if you use a more friendly software such Clip Studio Thank so you so much for you nice review.

    I'm considering both as I'm planning to get a new tablet. I used the intuos for around 4 years and I loved it. But I want to know whether the intuos pro worth it or not the price difference. I'm using "One by wacom" temporarily now. And it's a good tablet for the price. But my hand sores after drawing with it for hours. Will go for the Inuos pro considering it is smooth. Thanks for the review.

    Thanks for the good review and comparison.
    I just wanted to know what size of Wacom Intuos Pro you are using in the video. I have the same Dell laptop and I wanted to have an idea how the size would look like.

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! They are both size "small" and I have the links in the description which take you to the product descriptions that have the exact size measurements and details of the size of the actual drawing space as well, but the Wacom Intuos Pro's small overall tablet size is 10.6 inch x 6.7 inch. I hope that helps!

    Thank you! My Intuos broke after 3 years of using it (it doesn't charge anymore) so I have to buy a new one and I've been thinking which one should I get because Pro, of course, is more professional and nicer, but I'm really not sure if it's worth it for the double price of Intuos. So I think I'll get Intuos again, because I can afford it, I'm used to it and I don't use express key buttons on it at all so I probably won't on the Pro also XD And I'm so used to using keyboard that I don't think I'll relearn to use the wheel and touch features on Pro

    This may sound like a very stupid question, but I'm a newbie. How do you find your place when you are putting the pen down on the tablet when trying to trace like you did in your video, or if you're just drawing from scratch? It seems like it would be hit or miss (because you're not putting the pen directly on the line which is on the screen, but instead on the tablet). Thanks in advance.

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not stupid! You can see where your pen hovers in Photoshop, and with practice, it starts to become intuitive. But at first, it was a little strange to build that connection between your hand and the screen.

      @@BethanyStahl Thank you. I actually found a video that showed the cursor arrow on the screen. I didn't realize that would be there, but it makes sense that's how it works when your pen was hovering. 🤦🏻‍♀

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can program shortcuts and use it with the hotkeys, or use the rotate tool on the side of photoshop, but it cannot be done with the mousepad. I just typically keep one hand on the keyboard (for shortcuts) and one on the tablet when I use the Intuos.

    Is the wacom intuos you have the small size or medium?

  • @RalloR
    @RalloR 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Its good to have a bigger active area because a smaller tablet will translate your strokes to the bigger size so you end up like drawing tiny things in reality and this can clash a lot with certain drawing styles (: I also used a small one for years and then I got a bigger one and I felt a big difference

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome! I love the small size, and since it translates proportionally, it is purely personal preference on what works and feels best for hands, drawing style, and lifestyle. I completely agree that certain drawing styles may prefer a bigger space to get the feeling of more traditional drawing. I'm glad you've found one that works well for you 😊

  • @OwaisAhmedcooldude
    @OwaisAhmedcooldude 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People normally get the medium for extra space so it’s not too clamped when drawing. Kinda surprised that you prefer the small one when all the professionals normally use medium sizes.

    • @BethanyStahl
      @BethanyStahl  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The small is just so handy and portable. I don't find it cramped and haven't ever felt like I needed more space and have been using it professionally for years. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with whichever size you prefer😊

    • @BurakNKurt
      @BurakNKurt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BethanyStahl It all depends on the size of the monitor you're using really. Since it's one to one/corner to corner a regular desktop monitor feels more natural with the medium size. With a small tablet on a large monitor a little of your hand movement covers a larger distance and it makes it difficult to work detail work.
      However if you mostly work on laptops/ laptop size screens I think small makes more sense as it's also easier to haul around.

    • @wayner7263
      @wayner7263 2 ปีที่แล้ว
