      So I have the previous Pro SMALL, which I'm actually happy with, but I've heard that the newest model that the Control ring only does ONE thing, versus FOUR. Is this true Collin? If so that would be a deal breaker for me, as I use the control ring for brush size, zooming, going from Fill screen to 100%, and Cycling layers. And zooming and brush size won't work with the buttons.

    Thank you for such a great review, Colin! I've used WACOM since Spring 2007, starting out with an Intuos 3 (before they even had the Pro line). I haven't used a mouse since. I currently use an Intuos 4 from 2009. It's been 10 years and it's still running great. One thing I've noticed with both my models: even though I've worn the surface smooth, the sensitivity is still as good as ever. If I need to get another WACOM tablet, I think I'll get the Intuos Pro Small for the portability and Bluetooth feature. Both my current tablets need to be plugged into my laptop to work.

This little tablet looks good, and the price isn't bad at all. I have an Intuos 2 medium and a 22HD Cintique, but I might add this one at some point. Great review as always, Colin.

Can you have set 2 additional modes for the touch ring? Thanks, Colin (or anyone), please answer this question.

    Thanks for the comprehensive overview. I have recently bought a Wacom Intuos Pro S tablet. I appreciate that it isn't designed primarily to be a signature capture device, but this is certainly something I want to use it for. My question is this: is therte a way to ensuure that pen movements on the tablet are captured without rescaling/zooming? I.e. if I sign on the tablet such that if the start of my signature is, say, one and a quarter inches to the left of where it finishes, then the signature as it appears on the Word document, or whatever software package I am using, is also one and a quarter inches wide, without having to resize it manually afterwards?

      I picked one of these up today as well and was disappointed to see that the capacitive touch on the express keys doesn’t seem to be there. I was looking forward to this feature as with different settings for each app it’s a lot to remember.

    • @nghila900
      @nghila900 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Medium gives you two extra buttons and allows you to change the texture sheet, whereas the small you are stuck with the standard texture which appears to wear out the pen nibs much quicker. Small is definitely more portable but the fixed texture sheet made me go with the medium after doing some research.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The small is definitely enough, especially for retouching, the medium allows you to toggle different functions on the touch ring, where as the small, you can only set one at a time. It also seems to me like the small has a slightly smoother texture, so it shouldn't wear out nibs as fast.

    Since your upload is almost one year old, I am not sure if I'll get a reply. But I never loose hope. I had thought of buying the Medium, but for two reasons I feel myself compelled to consider the Small. 1. The Medium is not available in my place, but the Small and Large are. Large is out of the question. And the Small is lesser dent on my pocket. 2. The Small will not use up a lot of space on my desk, though portability hardly matters to me as I work on Desk Top always. Now, my question is, will the actual working surface be sufficient to the work I do on Photoshop or Lightroom etc? I intend to upgrade to a 27 inch monitor. Wouldn't the actual work surface area be less considering the monitor is going to be 27 inch. I don't believe in upgrading on tablets later, instead, buy the size I need and never find the need to upgrade to Medium or Large. Please guide me. Another thing the Medium is available in the paper edition. Will the paper edition work the same way if I remove the paper sheet? Hope I'll get a timely reply, thanks. And as usual your videos and tutorials are always fantastic.

      basically it depends how comfortable you are with the surface area, I own 3 tablets 2 of them are wacom 13 HD, and the other one is UGEEM708, In my experience if I could turn back the time, I would buy the small tablet, because its more comfortable and uses less space on your desk. (You might think space is something you can compromise on but TBH, later on, you will go crazy and eventually will put it back in original packaging for the rest of your life). I strongly recommend you to buy this small version. It has all the features that other tablet might miss.

I have ONE question though: Does the screen detect the pen as it's hovering closely above it? (I've seen before that some tablets have this feature.. maybe all? dunno). Hey, could someone help me please? I bought my wacom intuos pro small a few months ago and the pen works fine, but when I'm using the touch function - using the tablet as a track pad - it seems that when I tap one time (which is the left click of the mouse) sometimes it won't work and I have to touch it again so I can click on something. Does that happen with your tablet Colin? Or with any other person's tablet?

      I haven' noticed it doing that, check the settings in preferences for touch, also reinstall the Wacom drivers and see if that helps?

      photoshopCAFE I've already reinstalled the drivers and checked the touch settings. I mean, the touch works, but sometimes it's necessary a double tap. Could you test it and tell me if yours does that too please?

    Is the charge port still a piece of junk that breaks quickly?

    Retouchers need a Mini-Small tablet size so they don't have to portion map the tablet.

    I had a n older Wacom and I had nothing but problems. I bought a new one same problems. DON'T waste your money the software just is down right awful and the pen never work right. I havn't tried and Ipad like ones but I done with is company.

    I bought my Wacom and it was a piece of crap. My advice is get some paper and crayons, they work so much better.
