Delta-xFish this year’s cars lacks aero compared to other teams but it’s probably not as bad as last year but with a terrible engine and with all other teams improving the difference is more noticeable. They’re running low downforce at Spa to compensate for the engine so I would argue aero isn’t their main problem. It’s definitely mostly engine and chassis

So obvious that all the time gains on the 2019 car is coming from straight line speed. The 2020 car catches right up in the tighter corners, but is destroyed on the straights. Ferrari is nothing without it's "totally legal engine" from last year.
Phil they put high current electrical wires close to the fuel flow sensor to make sure it didn’t report them temporarily using more fuel than was allowed. That’s by no means a loophole. That’s not just cheating, that’s also trying cover up the fact that you’re not playing by the rules. It would’ve been just cheating if they only used more fuel. The fact that they went so far to cover it up proves that they were fully aware of what they were doing. Also, the clarification came in Texas, not during the winter. And guess what? Ferrari suddenly lost their edge. Only when they had to alter their engine, because they were probably doing more debatable shit with their PU, they lost even more powerwise. The only 2 reasons Ferarri got away with it last year we’re the fact that they weren’t caught in action and FIA making some very questionable decisions to help out Ferrari once more. It’s a total joke. Anybody who is still in denial or tries to justify Ferrari’s actions is just ignorant.
At least cornering speed has improved... Alas the whole chassis and aerodynamic will be thrown out of window by the time a proper engine is created (2022)

Anyway, a strong, even if it’s controversial, ferrari engine is good for everyone. Keeps Haas and Alfa Romeo doing well and also brings competition to the almighty Mercedes.

Yeah we won't see much more of a difference. P1 v/s P13 feels like a huge gap but it's only 1.744 seconds. Just that all the competitors got better but Ferrari got worse.

Im not being a Ferarri fanboy here (McLaren ftw), but it was not illegal in any sort of ways it was a loophole in the regulation which was then promptly outlawed for this season, so technically its not a "cheated top speed engine".

the juxtaposition at the end with his reaction is crazy to think that hes only .5 seconds off last year and its huge! That really does show just how close the teams are and its really just driver consistency in the top teams like Mercedes and red bull partnered with a car that's only very slightly better than the rest (in the grand scheme of things)... really puts it all in perspective.
The indication of the Ferrari situation is that they’re helping the FIA to reveal that other teams ARE using loopholes also. They haven’t been caught. But removal of engine power modes is part of the attempt to stop this behaviour. The FIA don’t have the technical expertise and funds to understand what every team is doing. Ferrari were only caught because a disgruntled insider reported them.

I think its largely due to the lighting. Camera quality normally looks slightly worse in darker conditions.

1: Yes they cheated and it got covered up
2: The 2020 camera is much better.

2019 cheated top speed engine / 2020 without cheat engine. He had the same laptime until the kemmel straight and then he lost 6 tenths
it wasn't cheating, it was a loophole, after the clarification for 2020 it became illegal
Im not being a Ferarri fanboy here (McLaren ftw), but it was not illegal in any sort of ways it was a loophole in the regulation which was then promptly outlawed for this season, so technically its not a "cheated top speed engine".
This year the tires have a softer compound, it isn't only the tricky engine

the juxtaposition at the end with his reaction is crazy to think that hes only .5 seconds off last year and its huge! That really does show just how close the teams are and its really just driver consistency in the top teams like Mercedes and red bull partnered with a car that's only very slightly better than the rest (in the grand scheme of things)... really puts it all in perspective.

The indication of the Ferrari situation is that they’re helping the FIA to reveal that other teams ARE using loopholes also. They haven’t been caught. But removal of engine power modes is part of the attempt to stop this behaviour. The FIA don’t have the technical expertise and funds to understand what every team is doing. Ferrari were only caught because a disgruntled insider reported them.

@@grafil01 everyone else has got damn faster but ferrari can do with lst years engine aswell.. they had to change the engine from the start and build new one, which was weak, I believe that they were able to fight with the mercs if there was n9thing wrong with the engine last year

It’s sad to see Ferrari so low..... but looking at the 2019 lap time and comparing it against today’s Q3 shows that Leclerc would’ve only been in 8th place..... it really does demonstrate how far back Ferrari have fallen..... feel bad for the team!
