"If I was going to drink something that punched like a Stagg, I'd rather just drink a Stagg" - Okay, but ECBP is probably the best value barrel proof bottle out there, whereas the younger Stagg is typically priced 4X-6X MSRP. ECBP is a buy ALL day at retail... just because you have a few bottles back there, your viewer probably wants to know it's a buy, especially if they don't have a bottle.
I was going to say 1792 fp… but it’s technically not a barrel proof and Jack Daniel’s bp…. But that’s Tennessee whiskey. Larceny bp might be best value honestly
Triumph is your favorite rye of the year? There have been a TON of ryes this year and that seems like a bold claim. Agnostic of price... it's maybe a top 3-5 (I haven't tried it) but when you factor in price I can't think of any 2 bottles of rye I've enjoyed this year that add up to the same price tag... and I'm including little book chapter 8 at $160. Basically there is little book at $160 and I can't think of another good rye that released this year for $90+. My 2 favorite rye's of the year, right now, are Planters 100% Malted Rye (Missouri only atm), and Old Potrero Toasted Single Barrel. Both of those bottles are around 75-80. After those, JD SBBP's are absolutely killing it still. Old Overholt 10year is great (it was $80 in my area), Still Austin BIB Rye ($75-80), RY3 Naranja Wine Cask Finished ($75), Bardstown Origin Rye (new in my area, $60), KC 10 yr Rye ($65)... Every one of those bottles is a killer. The first 2 listed are just a next level. The bottle of rye I haven't tried yet that probably blows all of these away is the EHT Barrel Proof Rye. The straight rye is the only EHT product I actually really like and some extra proof will probably make the rye notes explode. Won't be a profile for the non-rye crowd and that's fine with me. Main point is Master's Keep Rye could be pretty good but the value proposition with the quality of rye products, and ages, hitting the market this year really makes it a terrible option. If money is not an option (which clearly you guys don't mind) then sure, it could be okay. For most people it should be a pass. $250 needs to be life changing, unicorn level whiskey. If you can get 90% of the same experience with a $65 KC 10 year... then yeah that's a problem.
Anything bourbon/rye that costs more than $90 better knock me out, blow my socks off, wash them, dry them, fold them, and neatly store them in my sock drawer.
ECBP is one of those bottles as a newbie I've always wanted to try. B24 just happened to be sitting on the counter on allocation day in Ohio. I was so excited, but just wasn't impressed. Worth $70, but nothing exceptional.
I will definitely get the WT Triumph when I get down to Kentucky later this summer. I would love to get the OF President's Choice. Other channels are raving about it. I've never had one so there is no way I would pass on a bottle for MSRP.
Watch everyday at lunch, love the channel. I'd love to see a video maybe taking about best places online to find bottles or any suggestions you may have finding bottles for people outside of where distilleries are. Also, a video showing favorite bottles, how much you paid, and how much you'd pay secondary. I'm typically stuck with ordering online and there stuff like 13th colony cask strength is 350-400 and thank goodness i heard your review bc I was contemplating buying that bc I've always wanted a 13th colony double oaked but those are $1kish. 👊🏻👊🏻🥃.
I got that bottle of Chattanooga for 50 and change up here in Wisconsin. Super unique & delicious. I highly recommended if you can find a bottle around that price.
I understand and appreciate a video on this topic. I sat through the whole video and basically got no recommendations on what to get. You basically recommended 1 bottle lol. Number 2 it was all allocated bottles. At least review some new bottles that are easy to come by.
Well right now that Marker's is flooding the market and you should see that soon. With that said we wanted to have have mostly new bottles on the list or upcoming new releases.
I’m pretty sure Chattanooga Founders is 59 retail. I’ll always pick one up since I’m from the area, but I agree that this years wasn’t living up to the OG 10, or even 11th edition. Still good, but pass at 80 bones.
The 10th Anniversary was so good...didn't really enjoy the 11th and just picked up a few of the 12th but the 10th was underrated, especially for $50. Think the 12th was $65-70/bottle shipped but agree with you though, at $80 I would probably pass.
@@collinwilliams5097I have the 11th, I paid $65. And I think it’s worth a go at $65, I think it’s a good bottle, but probably I won’t run right out to replace it. Solid bottle for $60-$65 though.
We have the secondary market and inflation to thank for these outrageous whiskey prices. Distilleries are seeing people pay stupid prices on bottles in the secondary and are trying to get some of that revenue.
Why do you have so many bottles on the shelf with 1-2oz left in them? They are going to be oxidized to hell and back at this point. Good to see you drink these bottles but seems you have a REAL BIG fomo about killing bottles. If you want a cool looking set just do what half of YT does - refill them with something else and use them as a prop. But in the meantime it seems super strange to save that last 1-2 oz by letting it literally go flat. You could transfer it to a smaller vessel if you wanted to keep it for comparison sake. It's your whiskey, obviously, but I'm not seeing the strategy of keeping whiskey so that it goes flat and is off profile.
Not even close. Every President's Choice is a) only a distillery release; b) aged at least 8 - 12 years; c) proof is anywhere from 103-120 proof; d) directly chosen by the then President of OF
A buy or pass from this channel is pretty funny... considering you buy everything you can get your hands on. If you don't want it you buy it to trade (which is part of the downfall of the whole consumer experience)
@@bourbonkingdom thanks for your reviews so I know what to hunt for! You've got to have a thick skin when being a TH-camr. Don't pay any attention to them.
I’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts on some of the lucky 7 offerings. I have a New Yorker showing up Friday that I’m stoked about. Readily available on Seelbachs cask strength for around $50
Every ecbp 17 thru 23 abc I have had is far superior to any stagg or stagg jr that I have had 7 thru 19 used to like stagg until benchmark full proof came out now they all taste like that and it’s just not that good.
Can not believe what a amateur hour move it is to look at your phone or your watch while making a video. If this video is not important to you, why should it matter to me. Unreal, and just getting worse.

What’s the Old Fo bottle not to speak of?
I've been passing on all EC lately. I couldn't put it into words. You guys nailed it. It just not special.
The Kingdom always keeping it real!
Thanks buddy
MM Heart Release is a pass for me. I tried it and it was meh.
Totally agree very disappointing compared to BEP
Plenty of good bourbons available; no need to chase anything.
Bingo.

13th Colony other than DO and the 15th Anniversary is trade bait
That 15th anniversary was quite good.
I agree with you on the Triumph. I tried it at the distillery and it was good but not $300 good.

That is such a better price then we seen it.
@@bourbonkingdom yeah 80 is a reach. I wouldn’t have purchased it at that price point. I crushed that bottle in like two weeks 🤣
Well, I appreciate the heads up on the MM ... I really liked the BEP release, but if this is off profile, I'll pass.

Yes I agree. Some them behind on the set I have transer to 2 or 4 oz jars once they reach a point and then I fill them up with prop whiskey.
Maker’s needs to except and away from the French wood. I haven’t had one from them that has ever wowed me.
