Some good tips Barry. , I made a school boy error the other day wild camping and hiking I forgot to pack my waterproof trousers, a 16 mile hike through the Peak District National Park in England in the wettest weather I had ever seen was the hardest thing I have ever done, I was so cold, so now my Waterproofs live in my rucksack. Thanks for sharing from the UK

Thanks Steve. Good lesson learned. I’ve made a few similar mistakes too. It’s all good character building. I once forgot my hiking boots and had to do the trek in old trail shoes. It was ‘ok’ but not ideal. Won’t do that again. :)

Thanks Dave. Yes, it is interesting and something to be aware of when you’re packing clothes for when it’s windy or you’re climbing a mountain. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼

Hey Barry enjoyed this, nice use of different camera angles at the start. On one of my first trips ever I had just bought an expensive mountain tent and had it attached underneath my pack just like you do. As I got under a barbed wire fence something caught on it and yes it was my new tent. A Perfect slice of 4 inches through the groundsheet...Great advice about changing plans if needed and not sticking to a rigid schedule. Very important too to have exit options. You pack in so much great info here and are so right about the fact that it is mostly when multiple things go wrong that leads to accidents. I have had this happen on a number of occasions when a great number of random things have occurred and all of them together creates a safety issue. ATB and keep up this great work. Tom

Thanks Tom for your kind comments and tales from the trails. I also took my expensive red Hilleberg out and just as I was almost back at the car, it caught on a barbed wire fence I went over, and you guessed it, it wore a small whole in it. Fortunately it was only on the carry bag, but a nuisance never the less. Following that, I usually carry my tent IN my pack, however in this video I knew the terrain was mild so I put it on the outer. At least we can all learn from our mistakes and be the better for it. Thanks again.
