    Hallo, i have two amps. do you no how to setup two amp fx loops into the hx effects?

  • @maripido
    @maripido 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    hmm since you put the splitter AFTER the Timmy, the wet amp will also have the Timmy, correct? If you put the splitter BEFORE the Timmy, you would have a true wet-dry scenario where the distortion will go through the first path and ONLY the wet effects go to the second path. Is this correct?

    if I use fx loop 1 for one 'real pedal' in the chain then do you just pan 100% right on the send output at the end of the chain so that I just have separated output on send 2?

    How did you connect the amp? Can you also demo the cables to which socket ? I have elevenrack and SansAmp

    Hey can we do wet dry setup to 1 amp. For example for bass, i use gt 1000. So i want to send my efx and clean bass sound to one amp so that i dont lose the bass sound

    Thanks for your video. I just purchased a HX FX and I am planning to run it in the following chain:
    Wah -> Drive Pedals -> Y box -> two Kingsley tube preamp pedals -> stereo signal to the HX FX (I only use the Helix for eq, comp, modulations, delay and reverbs) -> stereo out to a Mesa Boogie 20/20 rack power amp -> stereo 2x12 cab.
    I am asking myself two things:
    1) do I need an isolator/phase inverter somewhere in the chain (presumably when the signal splits after the drive, before the two preamps) or can I just use a passive Y box?
    2) when the stereo out from the HX FX goes into the power amp, can it be configured as Wet-Dry? I want to have modulations on one channel (and finally, one speaker) only, and have my dry signal on the other channel.
    I'm sure it's possibile to run such a configuration, but can you help me to figure it out how?
    Thanks in advance!

      If the two Kingsleys are running from a proper isolated power supply (or batteries) then you might be OK (especially if the mesa has ground lift). Otherwise I strongly recommend the Gigrig's humdinger pedal. Excellent isolation and phase inversion.

      For the second question, yes, just treat the output from the HX as if it were a wet dry rig.

    I have had a terrible time finding accurate info on setting up what I ultimately want to accomplish is to set up a stereo wet stereo dry wet dry wet rig. Utilizing my HX Effects both in front of the amps, and also for pure wet for delays reverbs and some modulation. also have an ART dual direct box just like the unit in your video. I am very optimistic that your video mat be the key I have been looking for to finally hook up my superduper tonal nirvana generation rig for the ages (whew!) I got carried away. Bottom line, I am a lucky guy. I was able to get some key pieces to my dream rig,a top line Brit style amp (Friedman Smallbox combo) , and my best and most coveted guitar for decades, a burst ( well, a Custom Shop Historic 58 Bourbonburst), which with a good cable are just killer. But I also have a Bogner Alchemist that I finally found a use for , a couple small tube combos, my effects and the HX Effects, and once I tried wet dry, it was over for me. If I can rig this up, you folks deserve sainthood! Thanks!!

      That sounds like quite a rig. Best of luck!

    Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. I have an issue though, because when I choose the mixer at the end, I have no possibilities of choosing send1..... I have no options..
    Anyone with the same issue??

    Any issues with dry tone through HX? I’m considering getting one for wet/dry rig and replace my verb/delay pedals. I would run my OD pedals in front or through xloop... but I’ve seen other videos that complain about the four cable method sucking tone from the dry signal of amp. Thoughts?

      I'm not using the 4 cable method so can't properly comment, but all gear affects tone to some degree. IMHO the pros of the HX far outweigh any cons.

    Hi, nice video! How about if i run my amp thru main output without IR, and send separately an IR end of the chain? Can we do that?

      I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do, but if you want two separate paths then this video covers that...th-cam.com/video/bwtuO1ExVMQ/w-d-xo.html

    Is it also possible to route paths for the other Dry/Wet config? I mean Git -> HX effects [dry effects only] -> AMP1 -> HX effects [wet effects only] -> AMP2. I think this gives you real Dry/Wet configuration. AMP1 has only distortion and amp 2 get's that distorted signal from AMP1, not from HX effects, + added wet effects.
    To make it simple… is there an option to use two inputs separately for wet and dry signal?

    • @thehont8648
      @thehont8648  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It's not designed to do that and amps are not designed to be run in serial either. You can run two completely separate paths, but only from a single input.

    THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!! I've been trying so hard to find this out! You are the best guy in the world. I been using my pedals to do this at my church. But I'm about to sell ALL my stuff just to get the hx effects. I have an eleven rack, original boss c2 chorus pedal, mxr phase 90, and overdrive and reverb and looper pedal. A Pevy super stack amp and a rack mount fx 2000 effects processor, and a RP355 effects processor, and a sonicake rockstage 4 in 1 reverb, delay, overdrive, and chorus pedal... and I'm posting all of it online tomorrow for sale!!! I want just the helix hx effects and my 2 amps for a wet dry setup! I wish everyone would understand that this is the best possible setup, because if you don't use wet dry setup, then you can't use heavy reverb without losing the attack sound!! It gets super muddy quick. So you have to separate wet from dry! Please PLEASE do more videos of you using this setup and explain why and do some demos where we can hear it through an interface or mic up your 2 amps so we can hear a good quality demo of your setup! That would be awesome!!! Your officially my newest subscription!!!!!!!!THANKS!!

      Just re. selling your looper btw. Bear in mind that the looper in the HX is fairly limited - it works fine but has very few features. HTH.

      @@thehont8648 Awesome! Looking forward to the video! I'm subscribed and clicked the bell, so I should get notified when you post it. But I don't use looper near as much as I use to. So I don't mind that the hx is limited on the looper. The main selling point for me is the fx loops and the ability to setup a wet dry signal path. But thanks to you I'm for sure going with the hx!

    Thanks for the video. Can you do WDW with this method? So send 1 to WET amp right and send 2 to WET amp 2?

    • @thehont8648
      @thehont8648  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would need to use the second method detailed here...
      th-cam.com/video/mqslSWl5i4w/w-d-xo.html
      And connect two amps to each of the send outputs and then insert 2 send modules (one to each) in the signal path. HTH

      The Hont Yes, but in the second video the send is for the dry amp and not the wet like in the 1st one. I'm confused. 😅

      @@rickyrodam You can choose where the send appears in the effect order. Watch the video. It explains that (the bit where I move the chorus module).

    Maybe you can help me with this. can't find it anywhere in the HX owners manual...
    If I'm using the HX, and two amp simple stereo set up from the Hx...Can the HX send one effect to one side and a different effect to the other side? or is this not possible?

      Yes you can. See my video on signal flow and parallel effects. That should help with that.
