As a summer house looks great. And you can fold it back up before winter sets in to withstand tons of snow on the roof. If, of course, you find enough manpower.
Yeah, if I want a small house, I want to be left alone. Does require more than a couple of folks to help set it up. Generally if you have a plot of land, it's out in the sticks. People you know are going to have to drive out there, have to spend the night, and there goes most of your food, feeding them. ;-)

I agree. Who needs anything more. A clean dry bed to rest your head. A space of privacy. You can raise a family quite comfortably. It can be a castle to many people in this world of sin, death and every kind of corruption both from forces of nature as well as man.
What is more important are the invisible elements: plumbing, electrical, insulation, foundation etc. At least they can make a solar roof on top. it would be cool if all the sewer/water tank, pump, drainage, ac (heat and cool), battery, solar panels all came out of that container with ready hookup. The roof top area for 40ft container with this design is enough for 10-30kw solar panels, which is more than enough for a one bedroom living.

The lowest I felt was after being given a toilet roll, tooth brush and bar of soap in a clear plastic bag and then being photographed by newspaper reporters when leaving a disaster relief station with that in my hand. Later, seeing the photos of our disaster sold in entertaining coffee table books made me feel better. Now seeing the appeal court case lawyers arguing our case with the perpetrators who have been already found guilty. Ten long years in the courts with lawyers paying themselves $5000 an hour. So far we're just hoping to live long enough to see an outcome. Ten years ago they destroyed every single thing, every memory, every photograph everything. And still they argue. I don't know how you can say it's well thought out and well planned. Whar we saw was cool, but what we didn't see is also important. I assume it doesn't have running water, and that at best only the central module has electricity? Are the walls insulated, and how well? Are there fire hazards? Will it generate toxic fumes? Is there a danger that water might leak in during rain? What do they cost? There are a lot of questions this presentation didn't address. Maybe they are that fantastic, but I don't know. When I think of instant hospital, I think of this. I see this as a manner of response to government response to a variety of needs. Even though it has been around a long time, I think the overall speed of set up and quality is improved compared to years ago. Watching setup is quite entertaining. It seems like sustainable housing. The problem is to get a lot with the appropriate licensing to permit set up of these. Would I expect one in a trailer park style zone, and were there one for these, would it be a uniform community setup? Cool idea.
This will be best for field investigations like prevalence studies. We routinely use a big container bus with inbuilt xray or testing machines, but it is a hassle. This model will be universally helpful.
This is certainly not sustainable housing by any measure. It's obviously not very well insulated, meaning heating and cooling will be quite extreme. It wont have a lot of efficiency improvements of ordinary homes, and will likely not have even close to the lifetime of an ordinary house. Sustainable doesn't mean cheap... Sustainable actually means very expensive, built to last, etc.
If the sides that became the roof had built in solar panels that would be nice. Also, presumably One has to have utilities on site, electric, gas, water, sewage. How does One connect these up? What are the insulating materials and heat loss coefficients? Does it need a concrete base? It's all very well putting it up in a car park and filling it with furniture but no utilities are connected.

Some years back the mid to late 70's there was an outfit named Magnolia that had an expandable trailer home on this principle. When closed it was towable day or night much like an 18 wheeler trailer but when open it expanded to a small but comfortable (I believe) 3 bedroom home. It came fully furnished with all the appliances (well you know about the quality of such furniture). When all was said and done however as long as you weren't putting in in a tornado or Hurricanie area it would have made a decent starter home for a new small family.

Very clever. One potential issue might be a musty odor. I owned a camper that expanded and folded back up. It was roomy, nice, but there was a very bad musty, damp smell. No matter what we did when it was reopened after folded up could remove the odor.
Great idea. But it would cost a fortune to keep cool or heated. It clearly has way too many joints that would leak in or out heat/cold air. Plus no insulation whatsoever.

Not really for one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country. For a.more practical real world example see the Detroit tiny homes project run by Rev. Faith Fowler of Cass Community Social Services. The homeless are given a chance at home ownership at $1/sq ft if they stay for 7 years and demonstrate responsibility. Just giving stuff to people with possible mental illness or substance abuse problems just perpetuates the welfare state. That's a more complex problem.
US military has had these for over 20 years. They come prewired for electricity and A/C, plumbed for water and sewage. Used for rapid deployment. Can be configured as living quarters, work shops with built-in tool bins and work benches, offices space with preloaded packed furniture. Easily air transportable and with detachable wheeled dollies easily moved to area for setup.
Oh yeah this is exactly what we want. Container homes where we can live when even a 40 hours week can‘t pay our bills in the current society. Don‘t kid yourself. This is for emergency situations right up untill the moment it‘s not. So why not permanently?!!“
There are a few "temporary" prefab houses in my area that were made to house people made homeless during ww2 - they are still standing and are pretty good homes for people nearly 80 years later. Like those, I'm sure things can be upgraded or added over time, like insulation
Tout à fait d'accord ! Pour les situations d'urgence. Heu... Des millions de personnes sont mal logés ou n'ont pas de toit dutout ! Ils seraient contents d'avoir l'honneur de vivre dans une petite maison comme celle-ci !

Most major city homeless epidemics are caused by Chinese land lords who purchase apartment buildings. Then jack the rent to a point, where only the wealthy can live there. Affordable housing in a major city is a thing of the past. I was made homeless by a scumbag slumlord. I thank God that I was delivered from that situation. Me owning a very large dog, made renting an apartment impossible. Moved to an off grid property. Homeless problem solved!
You don't solve a massive problem by having a government agency just throwing money at a social issue. One positive example is the Veterans Community Project (VCP) just 4 miles from me in Kansas City. A non-profit set up a tiny house community for homeless veterans. Similar projects are in Detroit and elsewhere.
@@kcmoguy888 I agree, now days the majority of homeless people, are drug addicts, and alcoholics. Just look at Seattle, or San Francisco. Where the city supplies the drug addicts with needles. People in desperate situations, often turn to drugs of one kind or the other. Instead of moving to a different place where the cost of living is more affordable. I met a homeless man that was making 30k a yr. living in his car at Wal-Mart. Said he couldn't afford an apt. Told him to get it together. Take your skills else where. Find a small house, or apt. You don't have to live in your car. Sadly he did not understand. Just shook his head, said he'd need to think about it.
Hey, at least you know the one built in Uk is going to last longer than a single season before collapsing on you. Not to mention inspection and building requirements.
You got that right. They don't make anything in the UK though, I'm sure a UK 'middle man' will come along to import them from China at tripple the cost. There will not be a price on the website, you will have to enquire on the cost. They love that in the UK, great for the snob factor.
How can a cash-strapped state like CA afford homeless shelters in the midst of a pandemic and after half the state was hit with wildfires? You don't solve complex social issues by throwing money at it. An example of state & Federal bureaucracy was the $150,000 outhouses for parks. Will mentally ill, addicted or just plain lazy people take care of something given for free by the nanny state? Granted, many working poor or formerly middle class families are facing eviction now. It's sad but adjustments will have to be made. One example of a program that seems to be working is the Detroit tiny homes project by Cass Community social services run by Rev. Faith Fowler. Homeless people can earn their way to home ownership at $1/sq ft by staying 7 years and demonstrating responsibility. Something like the Habitat for Humanity model.
Only real homeless and people who know what if feels like to experience the trails and tribulations of the homelessness can appreciate this structure 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

It's a very good idea for remote areas, as well as for restaurants etc. We can establish schools, hospitals etc in remote areas with this technology, it will make every project easier and cost effective, because this way you don't have any need to supply all construction materials on site.

Bad for permanent living in cold countries. Bigger than a trailer or non-folding container house, less mobile than trailer and flimsier than a container. Also, it's container-sized, it needs a truck to move it around. I'd give it a 7/10, neat but situational.
I'd give it 0/10.
. . . After you redo the plumbing, wiring and cut out the internal Down pipes that rust out. . . I never talked to the builder to see how his life was going. . .
This is perfect for someone with little self esteem who doesn't believe in the American dream of owning a real home, never try, just set your goals as low as humanely possible and this third world dream of acceptability mediocrity can all be yours!
Very expensive tent, nothing more.
i'd live in one of these things in a second. its nicer than my "affordable" housing apt.
this could be the end of homelessness, ridiculous property values and the "affordable" housing scam. and the govt won't have to pay landlords their extortion demands anymore. so what's the price of this marvelous contraption?
its like track housing. could you imagine a community, a neighborhood street lined with these? each with their own little yards and gardens? where do you hook up the plumbing, power and phone line? make them with solar panels attached.
its a great solution to many problems so i won't expect in america it'll ever be used. in the good ole u. s., if the rich don't get richer, it don't get done.
Now that was pretty cool, instant housing you fold out from a container. We could call this House in a can!
I'm Came from the Philippines but i love the product from china.
I'll bet it's not leak-proof. One heavy side-ways rainstorm....and dripping inside like crazy
was thinking the same thing
Yep!
@Eelco Van Galen думаю, что там тепло изоляция есть в виде пенопласта. Хотя, в большей части Китая довольно тёплый климат. Этот вариант конструктора хорош для временного жилья. При низкой цене, конечно.
Thermal insulation and safety from thieves may allow be poor af 🤔
AM SHORE THAY THOUGHT ABOUT THAT AND SOLVE IT
*WOW!!!* If governments got on board this could help alot with finding shelter for homeless people or those who also need temporary housing due to disasters from house fires, floods, etc. Even a temporary house is dry & off the ground & can be heated. Sure beats under the bridge!👍 Now let's see how many governments will embrace this fantastic idea in their own cities & territories!🤞🍀🤞🌈🇨🇦
It won't last.
We already have a solution for homelessness and civil protest,,, watch soylent green, the movie
Would be better off printing houses, they will be much more sturdy.
@@WaymakerExcelthey last about 25 years
Ingenious. Would make great emergency housing after natural disasters....better than a FEMA trailer.
But you will trail it to the diaster zone !!!
Only works on a really flat surface.
I have a connecting tipi idea for that and you can expand it by adding tipis. Better than those square tents that would blow over in the wind. But they won't do it cos it's too good. lol
how do i get this kind of container house
@@whitefeather5629 yep just like every home😂
Ingenious design, innovative and very practical in setting up mass housing need.
This would be excellent for San Fransisco and a big help during the pandemic!!
@@kcmoguy888 amen to that!
If about 1000 of them were stacked on top of each other.
My guess is the military ones are made much better than residential construction requires, therefore they would probably be much more expensive.
where we can purchase this product approximately is the cost
Bloody u.s
I don’t believe it.
The bamboo flooring was a nice touch 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Quelle belle idée ingénieuse Très pratique en tout cas ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. Wish you all the best in New 2024🥰
Oh yeah this is exactly what we want. Container homes where we can live when even a 40 hours week can‘t pay our bills in the current society.
Don‘t kid yourself. This is for emergency situations right up untill the moment it‘s not.
Like „Oh come on, people have been living in them for decades and even though it was because of an emergency situation.. they have adapted to it quite well. You might say they enjoy living like this! So why not permanently?!!“
There are a few "temporary" prefab houses in my area that were made to house people made homeless during ww2 - they are still standing and are pretty good homes for people nearly 80 years later. Like those, I'm sure things can be upgraded or added over time, like insulation
@@merrymoll Yes, the cold and heat would always be attracted to it. Winter too cold, and summer too hot.
Tout à fait d'accord !
Pour les situations d'urgence. Heu...
Des millions de personnes sont mal logés ou n'ont pas de toit dutout ! Ils seraient contents d'avoir l'honneur de vivre dans une petite maison comme celle-ci !
They need hydraulic struts and automatic remote control. So it can be a two person or one person job instead of 10.
true! its very very heavy.it’s traumatic
Sure but that'll cost somewhere in the $30 to $40k range extra just for something you'll only use once or twice unless u plan on moving it a lot😬
And if you've got that kind of money why not just buy a real investment...

Amazing and great idea. Could make a huge dent in homeless epidemic.

I agree, now days the majority of homeless people, are drug addicts, and alcoholics.
Great concept for our coming environmental disaster situations, tornado takes out town... semi's arrive in mass with emergency shelters...
If they made this in the uk. They would be the price of a real house
Give it time and they will cost the price of a house. It's just in the infant stage.
Imagine traffic official at your doorstep telling you you are charged for illigal parking of your house .🙂
Yup and London prices at that.
Takes 10mins but I dont have 5 friends to help me 😒
Could hire some of those Mexicans biden let in
Why Mexicans? You should hire those Chinese or Indians who made the house..
@@kholmsk20 He's being racist. That's all. It's always the same with these right wingers.

Génial!

Faut renforcer les structures, ca m'a l'air tout de même fragile 😁
un coût de vent et tout s'envole, un petit tour et puis s'en vont!!
In our cost of living crisis I'd love to set up a rental business using these at affordable rental cost.
Good idea 👍👍
Thus us great for Homless across the US, large cities and California
NOW ...IF WE CAN THE GOVERNMENT TO BUY THEM FOR THE HOMELESS... THAT'S A DIFFERENT STORY !!!
They're pretty expensive to mass-produce to the homeless.

If this can withstand fairly strong wind and heavy rain, this would be perfect for tropical climate. Although the material need to be mostly waterproof either.
its held together by 4 bathroom stall locks... so its windload rating is trash
Expandable container homes are expensive. Thought the price steep as the idea was to make hmes affordable. This one should not exceed $35,000! Great idea and could be shipped via railroad or truck. After seeing the price though it became unobtainable.

If I was going to get one, I would build a big carport-like structure above it to protect it from the elements.
We can add extra roof and veranda too
This technology has been around for over 30 years. The US army has this setup for field operations rooms in field hospitals.
Lol no one said it was new technology.
Chinese always play this game tho. Copy Americans
@Luigi Battista Ya didn't disagree, ya just looked insecure. Thanks for backing my statement👍
The US Army now uses these things as operating rooms?? In the Gulf War, they used air filled bladder huts.
I had the box OR with the 807th MASH from Paducah KY in 1993. 807th is documented as being in Iraq during the gulf War.
These are nicer versions of the, "you'll own nothing and be happy with it." Houses that we will all be forced to live in one day.
Where can I get this ?
Looks like the roof would leak when raining
Drive up the I-5 north of Sacramento and the only construction are high density housing packed as tightly as possible. Like the projects in Manhattan. Just not as tall
Spoken like someone who got a house before it got 10x as expensive.
@@Gigodir spoken like someone that doesn't realize that houses got more expensive exactly because they are implementing the great reset
I like the whole idea, my concern is the structural integrity as well as the ability for the joints and all seams to be weather tight as well as keep the insects out. Thanks for the video.
What insects? They are gone baby gone
Sadly
Insects gone? PLEASE go outside.
Dont worry for insects...they are included with the house!!
I think you just use caulking once you set up shop
Fantastic ready made homes. 👏
It's a very good idea for remote areas, as well as for restaurants etc. We can establish schools, hospitals etc in remote areas with this technology, it will make every project easier and cost effective, because this way you don't have any need to supply all construction materials on site.
Beautiful Engineering...Putting Solar panels on roof would make it further, energy efficient...
Great idea👍
Integrated solar panels would be better.
