Certain people will never allow that to be , the property you sit in on will either have cities not allow you to place one of these homes on it without fees and they will assess you for higher property taxes to gobble up their cut of your savings.
This sounds fantastic in theory, but as a retired builder, it's unbelievable that anyone could produce such a product for only $10k. I'll believe it when I see it actually done.
I predict a housing crash due to people buying homes over asking price, lacking equity if prices decline further. Foreclosure becomes likely if they can't afford the house, and selling won't yield profits. With anticipated layoffs and rising living costs, many individuals may face this situation.
I advise you to invest in stocks to balance out your real estate, Even the worst recessions offer wonderful buying opportunities in the markets if you're cautious. Volatility can also result in excellent short-term buy and sell opportunities. This is not financial advice, but buy now because cash is definitely not king right now!

I just found out Boxabl is NOT officially involved with Tesla! Boxabl is selling "casita house box" from 60.000~💲! There is NO house for 10.000💲anywhere to buy!
Of course it isn’t. 2 separate companies that most likely have nothing to do with each other…..except that both companies have the same genius heading them up.
He has more to do with it than just buying a home!! He had a video out on these homes, 3or 4 years ago ! So, he is very involved in producing these homes.
We have a collapsible garage made of reinforced concrete $2,000. And the manufacturer has already made money on it. The size is 3.6m 6.5m and 2.7m. Insulate the top and paint the inside. Instead of doors - a window and a door. 3 such garages and a house for 2 room and kitchen with a sankzl. For 10000 with finishing with your own hands, you can get. Not every tornado will damage it.
Don't forget you have to have the land to put it on. My son's land was about $30,000. The manufactured 3 bed 2 bath home was $60,000. new. year 2000 and he almost has it paid off.
i think she means that in the year 2000, her son spent 30 on land, 60 for manufactured home & now in 2024 it’s almost paid off? Doable, still want to know what state.
Now if a family had 25-30 acres it could be divided up and each person could have their own plot and community gardens and gathering areas. I could see it as multi-generational living becomes more common. It could help in alot of ways.
Until some scumbag realestate company lobbies for zoning laws to make this illegal. I'm so pessimistic about the housing market I cannot imagine something that awesome.

That's where Musk's name comes in. He likely has enough influence to get zoning departments to be more flexible. Seems to me these homes would be a better option than trailer parks everywhere, but bureaucracies are very entrenched to any new ideas, and that's where Musk could be helpful because he has a lot of influence.
if they were placed anywhere we'd look like a 3rd world country and they'd be in the parking lot of walmart. There needs to be zoning for it like any housing

Solution to housing for many homeless. Set up communities with these homes. Make residents do jobs in these communities to maintain neighborhoods. Put stores in the communities for residents. Every state and city should look into this. Keep it for citizens and veterans who are homeless.could be so self sustaining.
A $10,000.00 house! For only $60,000.00 plus shipping at around$5.00 per mile, Foundation, utilities, and a properly pitched roof according to your area codes would be only around $100,000.00. For a single-car garage size studio home. Or you could buy a used RV and rent a small lot.
Boxabl is not owned by Elon Musk, but Musk has shown interest in the company. He reportedly purchased a Boxabl Casita, which is a tiny modular home, and used it as a residence near SpaceX’s facilities in Texas. While this connection has fueled speculation, Boxabl remains an independent company founded by Paolo Tiramani, Galiano Tiramani, and Kyle Denman. Musk's involvement seems limited to being a high-profile customer rather than an owner.

These houses cost more per square foot than normal modular houses. This is dollar store pricing. They're so small in order to trick the consumer into thinking they're getting a good deal.
The total with crane, permits, transportation etc will be over 100k for a tiny house and it doesn't include a land. In my country you'll get a decent family house with a land with that price. With Boxabl you'd need 2+ units to fit a family + a land.
I love this! the expandable options are what really have me sold. I can purchase one module for 10k, as I already have some land, then add 2 or 3 modules and end up with 3 or 4 bedroom, full size kitchen, 2 or 3 bathrooms, etc. my concern is I want to see testing results on high winds, flooding and freezing cold conditions.

Main question: does this house withstand hurricanes, tonados, heavy rain and flooding for those areas that regularrly encounter the mother’s nature diasters?
Starting at $60k for less than 400 sq. ft., 2x the cost of a traditional home per square foot.. I don't think this company is taking over anytime soon.
This is just what I need to finally move to my daughter's ranch so she can finally have her mama close ❤ I just need to sell my present home which is not a problem 👌 I just need to start declutter it!
Well you’ll need every dime you get from selling your home since these start at $60,000. Then just the foundation, electric, sewer, water, getting the permit, having codes in. Sooooo, probably $150,000.
I would love this! I live in a 5th wheel built in 1976 and is literally falling apart around me. I doubt I could get one though, my ss is only 655.00 a month. Would be awesome though. I don't need anything bigger.
In theory it’s really nice and affordable. However, the smart home tech I think would be vulnerable to hackers. The off grid solar option would be good . Unless the area you live in doesn’t get enough sunshine. Or solar panels get damaged by storms. Solar energy systems are expensive and cost more than the house itself. Definitely pros and cons. But I like it.
You work for 40yrs to have $1m in your retirement, Meanwhile some people are putting just $10k in a meme coin for just few months and now they are multi millionaires. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
Musk is one of the great thinkers of our time. If he rolls these houses out he'll help so many people and also make himself and whoever he employs a lot of money.
This is a great concept! The foldable design, practical layouts. But you need property and hookups, (electric, water, septic, possinly solar) and then starting prives are much higher than 10k. The single room casita, (bery nice) starts at 60k, not even close to 10k. That was its starting gimic. So this will easily be a 100k small house.
Way to go Elon. Only ten thousand, and you can put it up anywhere you want. Wow. I want one. I am a seventyfour year old Gramma. And I have never owned my own home. I have always paid rent. This is a blessing in 2024. Thank you Elon musk.🇨🇦🕊️
If you don’t find a means of multiplying your money, you will wake up one day to realize that the money you thought you had, had exhausted. Investment is a ladder to climb the financial wall.
They don't provide the land. You have to buy the home, pay the shipping, put in a pad, get utilities put in, set up fees, check zoning laws to see if these small houses are allowed in the area...
Early 70’s. Might late 60’s. U.S. Popular Mechanics. Covered housing projects. Original design Musk gots there. Inexpensive. Maybe end up mass production. Houses like those would jump some countries living standards way up.
I think the rush to built a lot of houses should be somewhat tempered by the consideration that population is supposed to decrease. I do feel for those who need a home, but we don't want too many of these littering the landscape if they become unnecessary. Old dilapidated areas should have at least some of their buildings removed and replaced by these rather than these taking over valuable untouched areas. Let's build where concrete jungles already exist!
Population decrease ??? Where have you.been.last 3.years ??? The Biden-Harris administration brought in 20 million foreign insurgents, aliens, etc. exploding the U S population like never before.😮
MAYBE they were $10k.. 4 years ago when no one had heard of them... Elon might have paid 10k, if he paid... The common folk had to wait until they "released" them to us. This was when they cost 50k, around 2 years ago, people bought or put deposits, but none have received their orders to date, I may be wrong, but they hadn't a few months ago... So now they raise the price? They haven't scammed enough people's money apparently... I may be wrong, but have been following for years because I NEED one, but by the time I can get one, I will probably no longer need it.

These houses cost more per square foot than normal modular houses. This is dollar store pricing. They're so small in order to trick the consumer into thinking they're getting a good deal.
