- New Order are an English rock group formed in 1980 by Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitars, synthesizers), Peter Hook (bass, backing vocals, electronic drums) and Stephen Morris (drums, synthesizers).
The band was formed in the wake of the demise of their previous band, Joy Division.
This live is the live which appeared on field Festi Val [FINBSRY] of Britain in 2002.
Moreover, it is the enthusiastic live performed in rainy weather.
*In addition, the subtitles of this video become the Japanese version.
hookys scream says it all. Theres your spirit. RIP Ian
Actually I think you'll find Hooky was yelling "She's mine Richard!"
he has got the spirit
It is important that Ian's spirit lives on and that by playing his songs it shows respect to an amazing level.
Has he Died? I did not know
Nobody can't sing this song better then Ian Curtis ((
But he´s gone!!!
Dave Gahan can :)
@@Autsajder93 better 10000000 times Robert Smith

Ian Curtis&Robert Smith
Not often I give a thumbs up for a Joy Division Cover, but this is good. RIP Ian and RIP Tony
to be honest i think this song is somehow more powerfull, simply because it simbolises their old pal down to a tee.....and it always gives me goosebumps seeing bernard sing it
WOW they can still do it! Ian Curtis will always be missed.
Has he Died,
They've got the spirit and lost the feeling, feeling, feeling, feeling....
imtv wrong song
Kibbey TheForg I think he was just making a joy division reference hahahaha
crekk- oh 😂
No matter who sings it. It is the absolute bollocks of a tune. Happy tears watching people lovin it.
Wonderful tribute to Ian, to remember his spirit in song.
Love it when hooky shouts come on at the beginning
Dam right as its a song that should be heard in space. RIP Ian.
It's a war cry! 👊
Throughout the song it's Bernard who is shouting come on.
You can see in their Faces how much they miss Ian!
Awesome song, awesome tribute to an awesome guy. RIP Ian ❤
@majerlet DEE DEE Ramone died around the time of this gig.
See the video fro Ceremony from the same gig which is on here. Peter Hook says:
"This one's for Dee Dee Ramone God rest his soul - he can keep Ian [Curtis] company until I get there".
New order 🙌🙌🙌.
This song is basically the blue print for for most of the alternative/indi rock that followed. I always thought Bernard's voice had that kind of cool, detached sound that made New Order songs so good. Even though they are the same people (without Ian Curtis), they really are two different bands style wise.
I really like how you described Bernard's voice. It's exactly how I've perceived it all those years, some kind of cold detached thing, that sort of adds a lot of atmosphere to the songs. Technically, he's not a good singer, but what he does goes very well with New Order's music.
Agreed, especially the drum style of Stephen Morris which has become a staple of post-punk music
Incredible same drummer for more than 40 years.
Same guitarist and bassist..... ;-)
Drummer rocks
One of the greatest songs 🎵 of all time!!!
Legendary Ian Curtis and New Order! Big fan from Brazil since 80´s.
me too
early 80's
Total respect , still keeping that world view , beautiful
when i listen this song.ahhhh i miss you Ian!!!rest in peace.
fuckin brilliant hooky should still be with them!!!
Hooky's a big daft twat and needs to wake up before its too late.
Mark Simon Hooky's doing their songs much more justice with The Light.
agree, saw them last year and they were brilliant!
Kevin Taylor bless you bud. Theres a massive hole left without hooky
One thing Music complete load of shit
i meant to say stephen and peter are the ones keeping it alive
Agree, Bernard is New Order vocals and never Joy Division, pretty poor as he seems to want the song as his own but it can never be. RIP Ian
Brilliant live version of this
Ah the mudfest. Rained all day and the sun came out for New Order.
Best Song! Wonderful version
I show this video my beloved girl 2 days before we departed...
This is actually really good! :D
I agree. I don't know what people are complaining about . If they choose to do JD songs, someone has to man up and sing them.
I never understood why New Order always insists on screaming when they play this song live. It seems like they have turned it into a survival anthem for themselves. Love them all and RIP Ian.
I cannot find the words to express... the song title says it all. Ye Olde fans know what I mean and I love you all.
I have to admit this show was incredible. Still think they should have called it a day after this. In the 80s they were the greatest band ever for me.
Bernard Sumner is an example of a singing carrier without having a singing voice.
nikko Chatzisomething love new order but can’t argue with this 😂
Este tema si que es para morirse!!! No pasa el tiempo por él. Imprescindible!!!
I'm not going to complain that they are playing this song, of course. But I will say it's nothing like the original, Or at least the way it was with Ian. Ian brought a thick haze of melancholy to this (and all other) Joy Divisions tracks. Ian possessed this very special atmosphere, that died with him. After watching this video go and listen to a version with Ian.
what a performance
I just watched Hooky's band play this and New Order without Hooky playing it and they are so much better together, like in this video. Know it will never happen again but hey I can hope!!
i guarantee you have never experienced drumming like this before
And I never want to again
Imagine what they could have done with Ian Curtis
joy division ...new order... and go the beautiful music
I DO NOT like this at all - I ADORE IT !!!
Thanks for uploading
xxx
Thankyou!!
I actually like when Bernard and Peters yell, "COME ON!!!!!". Anybody else with me?
YES!!!!
would you all shut up and just enjoy it? Ian is gone. Ian has been gone, it's sad yes i know! but the legacy is so alive and kickin! this is beautiful!
New Order would not have been anything but a depressing "exploration" if he hadn't died. Same thing with Syd Barret from Pink Floyd. They were cancer, once gone, the bands thrived.
LOTS to enjoy here.
@@usertubeification Good point. Never thought of that.
QQQQ Hermozooooo temaaaaaaaaa resien la escucho y me encanto escucharla verdaderamente qqqq hermozooooo
Sending this to Petra in Norberg
nice love the version
It's a celebration of what they did with Ian. That's got to be something to celebrate?
STEVE MORRIS ON DRUMS
Not bad, but I think Peter Hook does a better job singing it.
😲 I have NEVER heard HIM SINGING IT 😕 🤷🏻♂️
Jamie HILLIER you gotta check him out doing it with his new band, The Light.

Memorável!!!!!!
Great bass
at last. Thanks.
Back when New Order was New Order.
I was there...
I like it...
Painful. But God bless you for trying & keeping it going
imagine how hard it must be for Bernard to sing Ians autobioghraphical lyrics ..he must struggle with it.
love the rickenbacker
Hooky should've sang the joy division songs because I think he sounds a lot closer to Ian than barney!
Dee Dee Ramone died on the 5th june 2002..this gig was on the 9th june 2002.
remember,and Never forget I.C.
Hook is a fucking madman hahaha i love him
The tempos too fast for this particular rendition. Still good!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I recall a studyof suicide attempts. Many who tried (but failed, obviously) decided to do so within three minutes of the attempt. It was a spontaneity decision.
Joy división for ever
Joy division é eterno
Peter Hook, and Stephen are the ones who are actually keeping the band. They should have found a better vocalist than bernard Sumner. not saying hes bad. but they would have been way better off if Bernard just stuck to lead guitar...
So the history of NO contradicts all you said... no?
Almost all material from NO is, to talk minimum, divided by Bernard and Peter, and lyrics major by Bernard.
I love New Order, but I've never been much of a fan of Bernard's voice. In all honesty, I think Peter Hook is a better singer
Bernard is NOT a gifted vocalist. And yet, he was perfect and I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't figure.
shit, they where realy psyched up there, its a pity that the voice is so nervous to make mistakes. the crowd appreciated, thats what counts .

oh f***ing hell! the best .... i'm breathless
Awwwe...RIP Ian curtis
💚
"Come on!!!!!!" ......................................
Signori, tutti in piedi....
They should get Michael Gira one time to sing it. The Swans covered he did of it is actually very good.
Rip Ian
Una vida tragica pero dejaste mucho
IMAGINE if ian was singin that there IMAGINE how fucking good it would sound :O:O they well and truly would have been the biggest band in the world!
it's very common for drummers to do different beats live and in studio. the studio version has a very fast frantic beat that is both very tiring and easy to screw up live
RIP Ian!
I hope N.O. themselves read these inane comments, they are only interested in trying there best at playing music the best they can and having fun doing it, regardless of who wrote what when. who gives a fuck if lyrics are read whilst playing, fucking philharmonic orchestra does it every day. No other group of musicians plays like this...........end of
SEE U SOON IAN!
COME ON!
if i would start do drumming, the first thing i do is to learn stephen morris playing style
