    Tonight I started with some live Depeche Mode and then I listened to some live gems from The Cure which inevitably led me to New Order....Is it just me or do these bands sound just as fresh as the day they unleashed their magic onto the world? I for one am so grateful to have been a teenager when this happened. Decades later I am still marveling at their talent and power to influence generations.

    • @neworderfan0532
      @neworderfan0532 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bass is really disappointing though.. Especially when they cut out the intro riff and the third verse, and the latter can be considered as the conclusion of the song. And the bass really emphasizes all the emotions the lyrics want to transmit, so by cutting the third verse out, they decrease the overall excitement earlier live versions provide.
      Also without Hooky's performance during the song I feel a certain lack of energy on stage. Sorry to disagree, but no, this is not a very good performance. Whether you just look at the bass part or not. Compare it with their Manhatten Club performance in 85, Toronto in 85 as well or the Montreux Jazz Festival in 93 for example and you see what I mean. It's much, much better. And not just because they are younger.

    Progress is progress… when one member leaves due to artistic differences it will never be the same, but what you do get is both Bernard and Peter playing old New Order tracks in each other’s own interpretation. I saw Peter Hook at the Holmfirth Picturedrome he played some classic New Order, and I have seen Bernard, both offer different perspectives and to be honest I liked both, so the group is no longer the founding members, but we have two who offer alternatives... I think it is a double bonus for all new order fans… long live Bernard and Peter I say, RIP Ian, gone but never forgotten.

    'Transmission' is one of the greatest songs ever in the general idiom of pop or rock music. "But we can DAAAAANCE!"
    Terrific take on 'Temptation.' Not too many bands could get away with sampling 'Street Hassle' and make it work.
    But I still like the original single release better. Probably my age.

    Ich kenne die Band aus meinen Jugendzeiten. Die standen damals bei mir hoch im Kurs.Nach New Regret, habe ich die Band nicht mehr verfolgt.Was für ein idiotischer Fehler. Jetzt habe ich New Order bei you Tube angeklickt. Ein genialer Sound. Und das sage ich als Metal- Fan. Das macht Spaß. Diese Band muss ich mir unbedingt mal reinziehen. Ich hoffe das die nach dieser Corona- Krise
    auch wieder in Deutschland auftreten. Bin echt begeistert.

    I would never have known about this obscure British group unless a high school friend of mine introduced me to their music. I was hooked. They played a role u=in my upbringing together with Depeche Mode and others and still around today! I used to listen to their music late at night when my parents slept with my walkman. Would love to meet them one day in person!
