episode 9 is the one that got me hooked when i watched it as it was originally airing! when i realized that blendin was actually in the background of episodes 1-3 (go back and look!!) my mind was blown!
I like how even with the jokes being over 10 years old, they still hold up. The "hate each other in silence - like girls do" joke could've easily been sexist in a worse show, but it's written in such a way where you know Alex learned it directly from being so close to his twin sister Ariel, and girls and women like me can be like "damn. Relatable"

You're right about the story progression. This one does have kind of a slow burn in terms of the overall lore, but it does get stepped up quite a bit. You just gotta stick with it and be a bit patient. :)

I’d say my favorites are probably The Inconveniencing, Irrational Treasure, The Deep End, Boyz Crazy, Blendin’s Game, Dungeons Dungeons and More Dungeons, and Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future !
Ya know what I just realized about Episode 9... (And future episodes with the Time Police) is that the two guys were named Lolph and Dundgren and were probably based off Dolph Lundgren in the first Universal Soldier movie 😅

If you want recommendations for after Gravity Falls you can keep going on Disney shows with The Owl House and/or Amphibia. There is simply not enough reaction channels for The Owl House that show is fantastic it needs and deserves more exposure.
There is only one or two episodes in this show that I think are more separate from the rest. Everything else has changes on future (and maybe even past) episodes, even if it is just a tiny detail. Like how Robbie and Wendy got together and then Robbie mentions Wendy as his girlfriend several times in the following episode.

The magic world to inconstant to make a good world, and main mc to weak of a goal making her really hard to get invested in. And last but defiantly not leas is the toxic fandom that have become so obsessed with the lesbian aspects they forgot they were watching a kid show with kids not a adult show. Wendy is in 10th grade. Dipper is in 8th. They’re maybe 2.5 years apart. That kind of gap means nothing after grade school but being in different grades in school often does.
I hate Time Travelers pig with a burning passion because if there's any moral to the story, it's that Mabel is willing to guilttrip Dipper into giving up anything and that Dipper would be a "heartless jerk" if he didn't give up.
