It's amazing how this movie is able to shift from hilarious to heartfelt and back again and still have it all feel natural. Also, this is definitely one of Adam Sandler's best roles.

Jonathan is a character that had the potential to be extremely annoying, granted he was mildly annoying to me personally, he had a childlike sense of wonder and charm that made him relatable. 💜
Johnny's an interesting character. He comes off as just an idiotic American tourist at first, but he slowly reveals that he has a strange sort of wisdom to him. The kind of wisdom that comes from traveling the entire world and immersing yourself in other cultures. Johnny isn't just some guy who goes around taking pictures of famous landmarks to post them online. He actually knows enough about local folklore to instantly recognize Drac's wife and perfectly recite the legend behind her death. It's actually kind of cool. He doesn't seem smart in a traditional kind of way, but you can definitely understand why people find him so interesting to talk to. In the sequel movies he's pretty much just a standard man-child husband stereotype though...
I know right?? I really liked Johnny in the first movie. Fun loving but also pretty chill. He was also still pretty silly yet funny in the next two movies but in the 4th one… they massacred his personality and made him extra annoying and not in the fun type of annoying 🫤
30:10 Yeah, this movie came out in 2012 and during the 2000's to the mid 2010's it was a thing for a lot of mainstream animated movies to end with a huge dance party to a pop song of some kind. Why was this a trend? Idk honestly.
This is so sad how Dracula lost his wife. That's why he was protecting Mavis for years, just to keep her safe. Adam Sandler and his wife were amazing in the movie 😢😢😢🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Adam Sandler is the GOAT of these movies, honestly. Sometimes he's "a bit much", but that's Sandler for you. Fun fact: He only voiced Dracula for 3 movies. Fun fact: Gendy Tartakovsky was also going to make a Popeye movie with this kind of animation, but after the Sony hacks in 2014, the movie was scrapped and never finished. We did get a little tease in 2014 though. Tom Kenny (spongebob) was going to voice Popeye
This film is a lot of fun, something that I didn’t expect to watch to be honest! Finding out that Genndy Tartakovsky(who worked on other animated content like Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Laboratory, Unicorn, and Primal) was part of the film’s production made my experience of watching this film all the more enjoyable.

I consider this to be the best one, they actually give each character a certain animation walk and movement that they just blend together in the later ones. I love how Dracula and Johnny move! With Drac being more stiff and Johnny having more of a flow but both in exaggerated movements

Hey boom, So You're thinking the the Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, Germany. It's also the castle Walt Disney based Sleeping Beauty's castle off of aka The Iconic Disney castle. Unforunately you can't stay in it though. But you can stay in Hever Castle in Hever, Edenbridge. This movie is amazing and so rewatchable, not just for Halloween season -- it has the right amount of light-hearted comedy and conflict that gives it such great depth
Genndy Tartakovsky is the reason why Hotel Transylvania has so many over-exaggerated, cartoony movements and expressions which was never done before like that in a CGI movie before since the 3D character models aren't as easy to freely stretch and squash and exaggerate as 2D drawings, they had to constantly adjust/remodel them for this and Genndy kept pushing to make it more extreme and expressive, helping Hotel Transylvania to achieve such an overly cartoony look in the end Btw you guys should totally react to Primal if you can, it's amazing
