Funnily enough, the reason Gideon owns the Shack by possessing the deed to it is because our old buddy Quentin Trembley III, 8 and 1/2 President of the US. He founded Gravity Falls and instated a lot of weird laws, including Finders Keepers law. It basically says that you own it if you have it.
You've gotta love the writing here. They took what most shows would have used as a throwaway gag in an episode, and used it for the greater continuity of the story.
So, the best way to get the back the Shack would be to take the deed back and give Gideon a fake one.

Bill definitely knew Stanford Pines, but not as interested in the current one, while also kinda helping him out with the machine's secret later on.

That’s what’s so creepy about his character, the author warns us about his power but he looked more like a loveable anti hero than someone who plots against the Pines family. But ever since we saw his prophesy of the Apocalypse we’ve been hearing left and right of “Big Plans” “Darkness approaches” “Fear the Beast with just one Eye” and we finally learn that Ford almost destroyed the world because of him.
I love trickster villains like Bill. They're really hard to write because a trickster is, by definition, sort of an underdog. Bill can even lose and it doesn't make him less scary. You know that you're just playing a game against him that consists of many moves. Each move you win, you get to keep existing as you do. If he wins even one move, he takes the whole game. It actually raises the stakes a lot more when you realize that.
There was actually multiple shorts that expand on characters and are fun little adventures that happened between season 1 and 2. So I recommend watching those too.
I enjoy the shorts but I’m going to request that they not because then it takes even longer to get to the reactions for the episodes we definitely want to see
@@Kyvid I personally think the shorts have good foreshadowing and clues that would help with theories they could probably knock them all out in one episode since they’re short
I mean I agree. Maybe they can do like a separate episode or something along with the main one some week and knock those out. Reason being we are already looking at June for them to react to certain episodes and that’s reacting to 2 episodes a week.

The wait between the season 1 finale and the season 2 premiere was 364 days - Just *_1_* day short of a year. But there was a series of awesome shorts being aired in the interim, which added up to about two episodes in length. Season 2 had a mid-season hiatus and several lengthy pauses between episodes, so it ended up airing from 2014 to 2016 - but all that waiting was worth it, because none of that time was wasted: every single second of it is on evidence in the episodes. Season 2 is _bonkers._
honestly, now that the show is all just on disney + and can be binged without waiting, it feels like a completely different watching experience. when i was watching this show as a kid, the long hiatuses and random episode schedule drove me insane, but honestly it also built up a lot of anticipation, and gave fans time to really analyze and theorize about every little detail. I even joined a lot of online theory forums, and since i was in the game general age range as the twins, i really felt like i was solving the mystery alongside them. I remember when people waited MONTHS to learn what Blendin’s deal was, and now it’s kind of weird to think that this very anticipated reveal was in the first quarter of the show. I also think it’s super trippy that [redacted for spoilers] is only around for the last nine episodes, I always thought he was in the show for longer
@@snowlondon8642 EXACTLY!!!!! Literally EVERYTHING you just said is what I went through watching this in real time! was honestly AMAZING!!! Especially being the same age as Mabel and Dipper, like you said, it was like solving it alongside them and theorizing over EVERYTHING, like our imagination went WILD and the show was all the better for it! It was AMAZING to just witness and sit back and take it all in when stuff was revealed. I swear the end of Not What He Seems from my shock to the realization of the swing set foreshadowing from Dreamscaperers all along in that quote Outro for the episode, it was the most mind blowing thing imaginable. I can still remember how shocked and amazed I was in those moments like 😭 UGH this show was so good as it was 😊

As someone who was big in the fandom back in the day I can not convey how brutal the between season wait was. And on top of that the spacing between episodes during season 2 was insane. Sometimes it would be up to 4 months between episodes. I can not describe some of the crackpot theory crafting we came up with to hold us over.

When I was watching Gravity Falls in real time the wait was unbearable. My friends and I only survived because of the theories and Gravity Falls shorts

You guys can just WATCH the next episode... we had to wait a damn year before we ever found out what comes next for season 2 and then the mid season finale of season 2 changed everything. Can't wait for you guys to see it.
yeah and the thing about cartoons is that there are some where there inconsistent days when they release episodes in a season.

It's kind of funny to me how they're so obsessed with Stan being the all-knowing mastermind and don't even pay any mind to the EVIL RITUALISTIC DEMON TRIANGLE
I started watching this and then went back to watch some of the older reactions and the first episode Gideon is introduced at the end they all say "how's he gonna beat us now, guess what number we're thinking?" which is the whole point of this episode, thought that was interesting
As someone who watched this episode on TV when it first aired live, I cried out "only!?" in disbelief when you said the gap was merely two years. Felt like five.
Honestly, I've seen this show so many times.. this reaction STILL gave me chills down my spine for the last 5 minutes of this video.

The Sequels to Gravity Falls is Amphibia and The Owl House as they are in the same "universe".
And I use quotation marks because both series are about the protagonists being in a different dimension but the Earth they’re from is clearly the one from Gravity Falls and the like to put in the occasional reference to it.
Like I just noticed as in just before watching this video I was watching Amphibia and for the first every noticed the Li’l Gideon doll in the Season 3 intro.
You forgot to say that this is not confirmed by anyone and the authors of Amphibia and The Owl House are just making references to Gravity Falls, because the authors of the three series are friends and worked together.

I watched Gravity Falls in real time and believe me, that gap between the seasons was actually insane. Season 2 had a small break too, maybe a few months in the middle, that was also incredibly frustrating lol

I would call Bill one of the greatest villains period.
They still have a habit of talking over dialogue. They complain that they read the subtitles but even then they fail to remember the scenes they talk over. They constantly do it over important/dialogue that’s emotional or gives insight on characters.

Mable got the grappling hook in episode 1, but she hadn’t been using it.
The grappling hook was from the first episode! Stan let the kids get a free item from the shack- Dipper got his blue hat, Mabel get the grappling hook.
So for some clarity, Alex originally wanted to make the show 3 season, but about haft-way through s1 he was insanely burnt out, and kept shortening how much he wanted to do. Apparently, at one point he was legitimately wondering if he would just do 1 season. Luckily, gravity falls hit right as the rise of fandoms was happening in 2012, and the only reason why we have season 2 is do to how much motivation he got from seeing the fandom react to the first part of season 1. This is also why the show took 4 years in total from start to finish to come out.
The grappling hook was Mabels gift in episode 1, like Dippers hat. Thats one of my favorites parts of the show, the fact that bits and pieces from past episodes have huge parts in later episodes. Dipper and Mabel wouldve died if she didnt make the "weird" choice of taking the grappling hook 19 episodes back.
I think I waited like 2 years for season 2, I’m just watching these and I’m obsessed that you guys like it. That wait was so stressful but so worth it.

Yep, nearly 2 years between seasons. During that time (I won't go into spoilers), a number of fans started making correct guesses about who wrote the journals. Suddenly, an image leaked of another character writing in them, to which Alex Hirsch (creator) went onto twitter and expressed his frustration at the leak. The leaked image never appeared in the show and, after it was all over, Alex revealed that it was a fake that he himself "leaked" to throw everyone off.
I remember waiting a full year before season 2. It was such a drag and I remember when all I had were the shorts that came before it. I jumped through the roof when I saw the commercial for the next season
This was hell waiting between season 1 and 2
The cliffhanger was horrible but it was worth it!
It still wasn't as bad a cliffhanger as another series that really loved Pizza hut.

So it was only a year gap between seasons one and two but as someone who watched it when it first came out as a TV series I can personally tell you that the wait was absolutely freaking brutal

The code on the door at 5:00 says Mystery Shack. To decipher a code in Gravity Falls you have to go back 3 letters in the alphabet for each single letter and then insert it. For example the P stands for a M

It was interesting the wait, everyone doing theory's and grabing the most simple little things and going off they're rocket, but it wasn't as bad as the wait for the finale of the show it was grueling.

Season 1 is just the introduction of the characters and the real story starts from season 2

Thankfully, I only started watching the show about a month before the series finale.
I caught up on S1 shortly before S2 aired and there were fully watch parties every time an episode dropped. I remember driving to mcdonalds to get 2 hours of internet so I could watch an episode live in a chatroom with my headphones on. There were multiple theories flying around, and the two year gap was when the twins theory was fully solidified. We went into S2 with that in the back of a lot of people's minds but also it was when the McGucket Wrote The Journals false flag spoiler went live, so no one was actually certain of Anything.

Show is so good I got a Bill tattoo. I own journal 3. A handmade Bill plushie from a friend. And have rewatched it and turned as many people as I can to it. The humor is perfect. Characters you who you like and feel for. Goes to surprisingly dark areas. Life lessons. And the hidden messages, ciphers, and codes is insane. Alex Hircsh did such an amazing job. I hate that there is only to seasons. But respect it. He told his story. Gave us a great time. And didn't stretch itself too thin...*cough Simpsons cough*

The reason Alex stopped after 2 seasons was because he wanted to be 100% he could tell the whole story. He did NOT want it to be canceled before being resolved, so instead of risking renewal, he opted for a guarantee. I dont know the exact details of the circumstances, iirc he decided this after the gruel of season 1, it was a huge time commitment
