Love your content! FYI I recently put just a male connector to all my guns and assembled an all-in-one filter/regulator with a female adapter so I only need one because I used to try to put a filter and regulator on every gun.
Hey Pete. I have a tough one, I am painting a back quarter panel and there is not break line. it goes quarter to roof to other quarter, the paint is pretty new and looks good, I am scared of using blender on the clear because of durability, I can blend it in the jamb and probably be ok or is there a better way? thanks !!
Thank you Pete. I've been Painting ( mostly Industrial Spray painting) since 1986. And you are 100 percent Correct. God bless you. Most people don't believe me when I preach to them, that the Air Supply Chain is one of,if not The Main Culprit of Paint Problems. Thanks again brother.
I say the same and people constantly argue with me about having a high quality separator at the compressor. Well I have a high quality one there and a secondary one at my hook up point and I still run one at the gun because of 30' of hose. Mostly guys in the fire arm cerekoting industry like to try to say it's unnecessary and makes the gun heavy. If I as a man was restricted by the 6 ounces added by a filter at my gun then I have a real problem to where I would have to make sure my balls were not missing.
Harbor Freight also sells a gun filter with the beads. I have found you can actually take it apart, put the beads in the oven, turn them back to purple, assemble and use again. Phillip Hall
@@ericschulze5641 At 350 degrees, it gets the job done, lol. After going through all the filtertation that Pete has and most painters have, very little, 'if any' oil gets to the gun. This good little device shown by Pete is a good insurance policy (just in case).
Thanks My friend Pete ! I just bought a two pack of these on Amazon for $18.89 so they have gone up about a dollar each in price since you bought yours.
Hey, I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in putting these videos for us to learn from! I have learned a ton from your videos and have painted 1 motorcycle and 2 cars. It is a ton of fun ! Thank you pete !
One of the most useful videos yet Pete! Do you have a video on how you match up or blend areas painted like the engine compartment separately and late paint the exterior of the car? If you have a video on how to make and setup hoods, fenders and doors on hangers that would be great. I’d like to know the best ways to paint the inner doors jams, engine compartment, trunk etc and later the exterior. If of course that’s your preference. Thanks for the great advice. Sub here.
🤔I used 50 ft of 3/4 in stainless steel pipe straight up straight down back straight up straight down and then my filters and oil separator and my paint comes up purpley smooth no fish eyes beautiful paint job I do use a another 50 ft of copper teething in a freezer Locker to run my air through takes the moisture out of any Air you're right about that filter connected to the paint gun
Hello Pete my friend Pete thank you so much for all your tips and videos and teaching we just had to rework on my wife's new race car let's just say it got scratched before even hit the damn track so a buddy of mine he was able to paint it before he left but nobody around I had to do it and I used one of my dad's old Binks guns and I developers what model number they are I don't know I took them uptown got to rebuild kit and rebuild them they worked perfect and it was a off shade of plum crazy purple was the color of her race car and black thank you so much it turned out beautiful
I use to be subscribed to your channel but I didn't like the language you used. I am a Born Again Christian and it bothered m. Well today I happened on your video about gun filters. I noticed a Gospel song at the opening of your video and was surprised. Then I noticed no foul language. I don't know if you got saved or what has happened but I enjoyed your video. Great video Pete good information I used some Neko air filters but they don't tell me when they're letting the oil and water through the line thanks a lot
Great tip Pete. And there's all the "experts" from the forums that are installing automobile AC condensers to their compressor systems and building copper-tubing air dryers. I think this is totally unnecessary.
I use these filters. Once they turn pink, I take them apart and dump the desiccant out on a paper plate and zap it in the microwave until it returns to the blue/purple color. Once it cools, I put it all back together and reinstall the plugs until next use.
So you are able to just clean the filter and its good to use again or just replace it? I got one with a little pin under which i can push in idk what its for but its a NEIKO filter from amazon it was like 11 bucks. NEIKO 30252A Water and Oil Separator
regarding the orange trap,, they peel bad inside a friend said he had to replace one so epoxy primmed the inside of the new one,, He puts the stainless steel pot scrubber wool he gets at Dollar general inside so the water condenses on the wool before it can move down stream
I not sure I understand what you are saying. Are you saying he takes the filter apart, removes the purple beads, coats the inside of the filter housing with epoxy and puts it back together, but uses the stainless steel wool instead of the beads? Thanks, Phillip Hall
Used one of those orange in color with beads in the past the exact type and it exploded while shooting clear. You pretty much know what happen to the paint job after that happened.
Pete, after putting the Epoxy Sealer on the car, do i need to scuff it if the Sealer is left to fully cure? As you've said don't sand it, yet there's nothing for the paint to key on to.
Once i sprayed primer here thry say instant primer and after sanding it many micro pores or holes apeard. I don't know whats the problem. But i thought maybe the primer drys more quickly than the thinner in it and the thinner got trapped under the primer and make thise tiny bubbles so when i sanding it they will apear. And be visible. So i decided to spray narrow layers on it to solve the problem. Am i right or it's because of something else? Am i right
Hey Pete love the vids been a long time watcher. Iam confused about sealer before paint. Can you recommend a good sealer I am using the U pol primer you recommended in another video. Thanks man.
Hi Pete, why black pipe for your air supply? It will rust internally from moisture and will eventually clog your $200 regulator. Plastic or copper lines are much better choices to avoid this.
There shouldnt be any oil coming outta your compressor if you have an oil descate filter before your air dryer i still use one i have the devbiss qc3 regulator with another decate bead my speed aire dryer quit bought a new smc 25 cfm dryer coming i refuse to primer or paint with out a dryer
Hey, If you remove your hockey mask covered in seaweed, you can see that your filter changed colors a couple of years ago! Not a paint gun, just the air nozzle you use on your blow-up dolls. Do you have a video on your blow-up doll collection? Creepy!

read you shouldn't reuse the beads because they pick up other debris that can't be cleaned.

That song used in the true grit remake, awesome slow version, just beautiful.

Keep the valve closed on gun when not in use or moisture will attack the desicant before you can use it
