    Great video! Thanks for including the comparison between the primoplan and the biotar. I have the 75mm primoplan and I will probably buy the 75mm biotar when it comes out. I use them on the GFX 50R.

      Thank you! They're both great lenses with different character. It makes sense to have them both. Cheers!

    Thank you for posting. I love the swirl of my Lensbaby Twist 60 and just picked up a Burnside 35. I have been thinking of a Lomograpy Bokeh control lens next.. and was looking at the well known Zenit Helios 40.2 85mm.. then tripped over the Meyer Optik Gorlitz bringing back classic lens designs. I may have to add 1 or 2 Meyer Optik Gorlitz in 2023. Trying to educate myself on the 5 new (old) models from Meyer.

      Thanks for watching! I love all of these new Meyer Optik lenses, but the Primoplan 58mm and 75mm are my favorites. Cheers!

      Yes, the first generation of Lumix S can punch in the focus up to x20 for photos. The peaking is also pretty good.
      In video, you can't punch in to check the focus once you start to record...so you'll need an external monitor.
      Cheers!

    I own 2 models of the original biotar in stellar condition and do not really like the look! But these samples look gorgeous! Would be considering this lens for a third of its price to replace my Voiglander 58 1.4, but 1200€ is wayyyy to much for a funlens.

    Would be great to check a comparison video between this and the helios, I actually love my helios except when sunlight hit it and the image just goes blank, but my version is pretty sharp, I intend to use it with a anamorphic adapter too

    I use the Helios as well as some other vintage lenses like the Mir-1 with the Aivascope 1.5x on the Komodo-X when im going for a vintage look. I love that setup!
    I feel like this lens could be a perfect choice for clients and projects when you don’t wanna go for a full vintage artsy look. It’s got the contrast, the punch, the sharpness but most of all (in my opinion) such a beautiful and tasteful focus fall off.
    If i bought this i don’t think i would use it with a scope that much. It already got all the right character in the right places while still looking somewhat modern.
    I have a question for you: do you know of some other lenses with similar characteristics that pairs well with this one to make a set? Thanks 🙏

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I feel the same about using this lens with anamorphic scopes. It's loaded with character and it doesn't really need an anamorphic scope in front of the lens...I simply showed the anamorphic clips because some subscribers were interested in this combo.
      Talking about your question, the new Biotar 75mm f1.5 II is the only lens that will match with this 58mm...I really hope one day MOG will create a 28 or 35mm f1.5 with a similar look like these Biotar lenses.

    Just found your channel while researching Meyer Optik Görlitz lenses, thanks for all the fantastic reviews! The images from such a tiny lens are truly gorgeous. It's great you include stills, video and anamorphic, exactly the range of application I need, thank you.
    Curious to know whether the colour rendition difference between the Biotar and the Primoplan was due to a difference in camera setting, or just down to the differences in the lenses?

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you like them! The color rendition difference is the consequence of a new a new recipe of the coating. Confirmed with Meyer Optik.

      @kosofilm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LucaBono.Studio That’s great! Ultra Star is not that different, as I’ve seen them compared side by side. So the results would almost be the same. What I specially like about newest Biotar are number of aperture blades so bokeh balls look round no matter how closed it is, and also declicked aperture.

    • @LucaBono.Studio
      @LucaBono.Studio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LucaBono.Studio Hi Luca! I'm re-watching your video, and the section on 'Biotar Vs Primoplan' has left me a bit puzzled. I'm wondering if there's an issue with the color rendition or white balance settings of the Primoplan lens, as it appears to have a much warmer tone compared to the Biotar.
