This is the Carl Zeiss BIOTAR 58mm f/2. Chapter 13.

This is the third chapter of my short European trip, carrying in my bag a Classic Cult Lens, the Biotar 58mm f/2.
The Helios 44-2 (Silver Edition) is a clone of the Biotar. The raw material used to produce the Helios plus its quality control, in nothing compares to the original Zeiss Biotar。
Overall, the Biotar is sharper and the bokeh is more outlined.

Thank you for an excellent video! One of the best I've seen on the Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f2... I shoot a lot with my own copy; a 1953 model: the same year I was born. I love the soft bokeh and the swirl. It renders the background beautifully.

@red_code Hey, I got my adapter and loving the lens. One problem I have is that the default view is so close - I have to walk so far away if I want to take a picture of someone, otherwise its so close on their face. Do you know if the standard zoom can be fixed ?

@@gregd9134 your camera it is a micro 4/3., magnification it’s unavoidable. It’s 2 x magnification factor. Keep the lens until you got a f.f. Have fun.
