I just became aware of tinnitus in the last several months. It sounds like high pitched tinkling and started the day after I got a new blender that was very loud. It has slowly gotten worse but this gives me hope. I am so grateful for this information. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! ☺️

This was very motivational Eric. Thank you very much. I am at the Fear stage due to my tinnitus getting louder but as just learning, stress is a negative trigger. So "rehabituate" woaahh I am mew to TrebleHealth so pardon my naivety
This was by far one of the most informative and inspirational videos I’ve seen. My story resonates with his, and I’m on the road to habituating. Thank you for this video.
I think it's very important to help people get used to it while science can't do anything, but that can't generate a false sensation that people overcome and that's okay, I think that laboratories and medicine treat tinnitus as a symptom and not as a disease that It is already an error due to the ability to "habituate", in fact damage has occurred and therefore it can be considered a disease and should require huge research investments like other diseases. Getting used to it is important, but research and healing should be the focus and have much more importance for the medical community and the tinnitus community in general.
I've had it over 30 years from loud noise. Ive tried various things with no luck. Last week in the morning it was silent for an hour, but then it came back. There has to be a way to cure it!!
I needed 2 hear, "It can't hurt u..." as I was afraid it was damaging my brain. Which made me wonder if it led 2 dementia?! Just hearing that it can't hurt u is a game changer! There was a lot of good info, but I really NEEDED 2 hear that it couldn't hurt me! Thank u!
amazing video, i feel like this is the best info i can find to date on tinnitus. I worked in machine shop for the last 3 years and have had a louder truck and started working on my tinnitus after a week of confusion. I had an audio test from a hearing aid store and also find it intersting they only tested up to 8k hz witha " normal " hearing. BUt possibly i have a hearing loss at a higher frequency than assumed as in the video. I am stage 2 to 3 . I found i have sensitivity to loud music and the cold at times. Warm showers will give me a reduction in ringing amplitude.
Thank you for your kind words! We're glad Eric's journey and explanation of Dr. Jastreboff's work were helpful. Thanks for being a part of the Treble Health community!
When I seen that video the first times, I was in doubt. And good news for me, I am like that dude !!!! I can work etc etc my tinnitus still here, but I don't pay attention anymore ! Well for me it's different, for years I thought the sounds were from my computers, till I shut all them down, and the noises still here. So yes, I practiced like he said, listenning music etc and did my work like usually and it's all gone. I have many some small crisis, then I use a sound I made on my iphone and that work fine ! I was scared at first around the 20 december but today I'm perfect. :) I don't if that can help, but my tinnitus have started to gone when I started to listenning dance music from the 90's
I'm genuinely glad to hear that the video has given you hope. Remember, you're not alone on this journey, and overcoming challenges is possible. If you ever need support or information, feel free to reach out. You've got this, and we're here for you!
40+ Years Noise Induced Tinnitus. Carry the ear plugs with you always. Round #1 with T was milder version. Got used to it in a few months. Non issue in life. Round #2 about 40 years old. At wedding with extremely loud band. Spike never receded. Spent 2 to 3 years with sound generators and then habituated to loud T being a mostly non issue in my life. 5 months ago 5 year old girl (playing a practical joke) screamed directly in my ear. I'm back to the noise generators. Your spikes may be temporary but can be permanent.. Be careful.
This was great video, I experienced the same hearing damage. Hearing this was the push I needed to get me to the next stage. I also started the Jastreboff method and just in 1 day I noticed a slight change in my Tinnitus level. I have tried most of the other sound therapy white, pink, blue and brown and none worked. I am also using nature sounds and play them all day and night and twice a day reading Tinnitus Recovery Statement has been a game changer. Thanks again for making this video.!!

Crickets 🦗!! I can’t believe how well it works! Don’t even need to have it on loud, just barely audible and it removes my tinnitus completely! I think I’ve gone from stage 1 and now balancing between 3 and 4 in just over one week.
I have three sounds, two main ones in both ears. One steady deep hum, one high pitched ringing and a third in my right ear that is like a wisp, usually hear that one in the morning. I hardly ever hear any of them though. I will actually seek out the high pitched sound at night to fall asleep. When I hear it, I know it’s time to rest, and fall right asleep like a baby. So none of this bothers me. If a cure came out today and it was too expensive I wouldn’t bother

Dr Ben can I ask you questions? Why do some people suffer from loud tinnitus for years. If our brain habituated to it why is this so? P.ease if u can will answer my question?
I did a combo of Hyperbaric oxygen therapy with Prednisone in Manila $85 a session in a big chamber watching Netflix. I did 25 sessions this year , I had 3 solid weeks of no tinnitus, now it’s 4-5 days a week with tinnitus. I do now have a couple of days a week with no symptoms

If you would like to schedule a complimentary telehealth consultation with a specialist on our team, we'd be more than happy to discuss your case with you treble.health/consultation
Helpful - I never thought of bone conducting headphones. This will allow me to use maskers without blocking myself off from hearing in conversations or, conversely, imposing the sounds on other people like with speakers.

Mine actually causes physical pain. It’s different for everyone. My ear hurts and buzzes and has high pitched noises all the time. Everyone’s different.
The cricket sounds do not work for me but I did find an electronic sound that does help but the best had been my ear popping it helps lower it to almost unheard but if I don’t it will flare back up ! I’ve had tinnitus since my early 30s ( 69 now ) but it went crazy in 2020 I may have had Covid but not sure . It’s been hell ever since but the ear popping helped ! I’ve ignore it for years decided early on it was not going to control me ! But in 2020 that changed but fortunately I can help with popping but ignoring it doesn’t make it go away thats crazy lol if it worked I wouldn’t have it now ! MRIs can’t set it off too but everyone is different so do what works for you ! Hopefully you’ll find something that does !
Thank you so much, Very helpful to me. I just ran into this pulsable tinnitus problem and it freaked me out because I already have bouts with insonmnia ...and I thought OMG what if I can never get to sleep again ...how will I function? Somehow I made myself NOT FOCUS and fell asleep I hope this works tonite as I am sleep deprived. I said to myself "what if this slight breath sound keeps me from sleeping all night? Then I thought Ill pretend its a kitten next to me breathing...I mean if you listen to the rain outside you dont have control of that and you sleep.I think its the importance you attached to this...well right now I am sleep deprived and lets see how I do tonight with this new annoyance ...wish me luck and thank you for giving hope.
It's great that you've found a way to shift your focus and ease into sleep. Your approach of reframing the sound as a comforting presence, like a kitten's breath or the gentle patter of rain, shows a wonderful resilience and adaptability. Wishing you the best of luck for a restful night's sleep, and remember, you're not alone in this journey towards finding peace and relief from tinnitus.

I have a question. My condition is similar to Erics, woke up with it in March, very loud, felt desperate, have used treblehealth cricket sounds, deep breathing, head and neck exercises, Julian Fellows rubbing body techniques, rubbing ear areas connected to vagus nerve all of these things have helped tremendously ESPECIALLY Ben's positive messages and advice on youtube it has helped so much and reduced the decibel level of my tinnitus a huge amount so much so that during the day I can get by now and not notice it too much. However, I still struggle with getting to sleep, I have tried crickets but I have to use airpods in bed as my husband could not stand the sound of crickets using my sound machine, I listen to audio books, again using my airpods and eventually I do nod off only to be wakened by the book in the middle of the night with a headache so that is not ideal either. Do you have any ideas of what I can try at night that might help? As you know as soon as you are in bed in silence it magnifies even if it has been very quiet during the day. Thanks for any tips you can share.

I was told that T can be caused by damaged auditory nerves from, say, an infection (true in my case). ENT told me nerves can regenerate. Not common but can happen, resulting in resolution of T. I was told past a year the T is usually permanent (slso true in my case). I'm happy the T went away and hate to play devils advocate, but I can't help but wonder if he was one of the lucky ones where the nerve healed since the T he suffered was less than a year.
me too, but he did say at one point during the video that he know he still has it, and that if he is exposed to loud noise he will have a spike that he can hear.
How can I find on Spotify this therapy you were listening? I have started the sound therapy and it’s been very good. The sound I had inside my head was so loud and I have it since I was a child and never really paid attention to that till now
Good advice, Thanks for reminding me that I have three free ring tones...constantly, for 30 years, heh heh I just have to ignore them at which time they SEEM to go away but there will be a point I will be reminded that the buggers are still there just waiting to pester me When I feel myself getting into panic mode I find something as you did to push it away It's really loud right now, it's time for a distraction Hell would be that when I die the bastards would still be ringing

Alas, crickets' sounds are just within that part of my hearing that's not functioning well anymore. I can stand outside hearing no crickets at all, while my wife complaints about the racket they're making.
How long is the recommended time to listen to these noises to help tinnitus. I also found after I've listened to these sounds that it made the tinnitus worse. What am I doing wrong ? Thanks.
Nice to hear you made progress. Thinking about tinnitus does make it way worse. Does take an extreme long time to notice any difference, if at all bcz it is 24/7, is torment non-stop hurt feeling. Please spell out the name of method or dr you described .. you did not show in writing, that is annoying plus the list shown was briefly shown, unable to do anything with. Again, annoying and maddening ..
I've never had any issues with my hearing until I was prescribed a drug for nail fungus on one toe. I took this oral medication called Terbinafine for 30 days (Lamisil) and boom the noise started and it wasn't gradual it was immediately loud. I could not sleep, and it never goes away. I've since found studies where others have lost their hearing and tinnitus due to this medication as far back as 2010. The company stopped making it and now other companies make it as a generic. The brand name was Lamisil. Since I've started experiencing this, I've done a lot of research and I'm furious that the FDA allows this medication for children. It's even killed people for liver failure. The only temporary relief I've found is with prednisone, but it only reduces the sound but comes back once your off of it.
Once you discover you can sleep with a hiss spike, it gets better with breathing. Sound therapy is helpful by TH, Suzanne, whose audiologists have tinnitus as it makes things easier day to day. Know it can’t hurt you and be patient. You will improve. I forget the noise frequently now 7 months in. Still get the spikes though and got shorter recently.
Hi! I saw you mentioned steroids can be useful - would you consider making a video about it? I see so many different opinions on prednisone so I’m not sure whether to take mine or not. My tinnitus started 3 weeks ago (on one ear), it’s mostly quiet, I mainly hear it when I’m tired/stressed. Would it be advisable to take prednisone, or is it too late/not worth the risks? Any ideas are appreciated!
I recommend visiting your local ENT specialist to discuss the potential benefits and risks of using prednisone for your tinnitus. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation and help you make an informed decision.
I am almost one year since T started, I am much better, but I still feel irritated that I can't hug or snuggle with my boyfriend without feeling stressed the T will get and is often get louder when we hug (because we lay down in bed getting ready to sleep), so I do get stressed that I can't be with him normally, so I might not be yet in stage 4 even tho I have been therem but I think i am back to stage 3... I just want to ba able to hug and snuggle without stressing out about T..... (T=tinnitus) The video give me some hope but it also feels a bit unreal..
I have been listening to lots of books, podcasts etc in my airpods the last few months. Tinnitus has been super high pitched lately. Is it possible I have stimulated the tinnitus to worsen it?
It you are masking the tinnitus, it is possible. We recommend listening to a low level, relaxing, sound therapy as much as possible during the day. We want to be sure we are not masking the tinnitus.
It's been a year i have been coping with tinnitus on my right ear and now i have tinnitus on my both ear. it's really challenging to fall a sleep and after i wake it sound really loud until i go out my room . Sometimes it makes you mentally and emotionally nervous break down and sometime you get panic often.my hearing is normal but my Tinnitus is getting louder I'm so much worried.
I'm glad the video has instilled a sense of hope for you regarding tinnitus. Keeping you informed about the latest findings is our priority. I appreciate your positive feedback. 😊
It's important to note that some medications, like amitriptyline, can cause tinnitus as a side effect. Since you're experiencing this after stopping the medication, it's essential to consult with your primary care physician (PCP) for further evaluation and guidance. They can help determine the best course of action to manage your symptoms and provide appropriate support. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to discuss them with your PCP. We would also be happy to speak with you treble.health/consultation

I find wearing ear plugs really helpful. Noise canceling ear buds quite all of the other noise around me. I think if I could have complete silence except for the tinnitus, I could calm it down. Any recommendations for complete isolation headphones? I'm also working a diagnosis of CIRS. I'm pretty sure that molds & toxins makes it worse. It affects my vision too.
It's great to hear that wearing earplugs and noise-canceling earbuds has been helpful for you in managing your tinnitus. The connection between dental infections and tinnitus may not be widely recognized, but it impacts many individuals. It is advisable to consult with your dentist to explore whether your oral health could be a contributing factor to your tinnitus symptoms.

There's always ongoing research in the field, and scientists are continuously exploring new technologies and treatments for brain conditions like tinnitus. I'll make sure to create a new video discussing the latest research findings and advancements in this area. Stay tuned!
For th sound therapy, does it have to be Bone Conducting Headphones. I have managed to reduce my tinitus with OTO but I would say I am still on stage 3
While bone conduction headphones are optional, we suggest using either those or open-ear headphones. This allows natural sounds to remain audible instead of completely blocking out other noises.
Wow, I'm surprised that after developing tinnitus that this person now exposes himself to concerts, sports games etc - I was under the impression that once we acquired tinnitus that we have increased susceptibility to further damage. Is this true or is it that we can get injured just like any other person but that we are acquiring accumulative damage which is bad? Thanks.
Great question! Those with tinnitus are not more susceptible to auditory damage compared to those without tinnitus. It is important to protect our hearing, regardless, in environments that may cause damage to our auditory system.
Definitely. We have recently started seeing patients who don't reside in the USA. You may contact us to schedule an initial consultation. treble.health/international-consultation

Glad you enjoyed it!
@@treblehealthWhat’s the name of the spotify playlist spoken of in this video?
I think it's very important to help people get used to it while science can't do anything, but that can't generate a false sensation that people overcome and that's okay, I think that laboratories and medicine treat tinnitus as a symptom and not as a disease that It is already an error due to the ability to "habituate", in fact damage has occurred and therefore it can be considered a disease and should require huge research investments like other diseases. Getting used to it is important, but research and healing should be the focus and have much more importance for the medical community and the tinnitus community in general.
PLEASE, list or tell what helped. Thanks!
I go to clinic to see doctor and he clean my both ear now i`m free from tinnitus Thanks God Allah SWT...
I love hearing this positive messages of hope, is there anyway of getting a link to the spotify playlist this gentleman found useful?
A big thanks to Eric for explaining his journey & jastreboff in great detail.. thanks treble health for educating us
Thank you for your kind words!
Wow what an amazing story I loved it and definitely gave me hope!!!
Thank you for the video, gives me hope that I can over come this.

Be careful.
And its reading stuff like this that makes me wanna killmyself lol. Severe T is living hell. Every sudden sound makes it jump from 10/10 to 14/10
Yeah I don't understand it either.. How can you not protect your ears when you know how awfull it can get if you dont?

This was great video, I experienced the same hearing damage. Hearing this was the push I needed to get me to the next stage. I also started the Jastreboff method and just in 1 day I noticed a slight change in my Tinnitus level. I have tried most of the other sound therapy white, pink, blue and brown and none worked. I am also using nature sounds and play them all day and night and twice a day reading Tinnitus Recovery Statement has been a game changer. Thanks again for making this video.!!
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're thrilled to hear that our video has been helpful for you and has inspired you to take steps towards managing your tinnitus. Crickets 🦗!! I can’t believe how well it works! Don’t even need to have it on loud, just barely audible and it removes my tinnitus completely!
I think I’ve gone from stage 1 and now balancing between 3 and 4 in just over one week.
Update 5 months later. I think I’ve finally hit stage 4. But dang it took a while..
So much thank you for sharing this video i got my tinnitus last yeae up to now, but since i can't afford to go at ent..becoz financial status.

Thanks so much! This is awesome! I just got “T” so this is so helpful ❤

Thank you for the kind words! Check out this article to know more about ways to reduce tinnitus bothersome at night treblehealth.com/reduce-tinnitus-at-night/
Maybe one of those sleep headbands with the integrated speakers?
He somehow kind of reminds me of myself. It at least gives me some peace and trust I can get improvement.

I listened to the whole thing and still don't understand what he did to solve the problem.

How long is the recommended time to listen to these noises to help tinnitus. I also found after I've listened to these sounds that it made the tinnitus worse. What am I doing wrong ? Thanks.
We recommend using sound therapy during all waking hours.
Has anybody tried the Lenire device? I have been using it for over three months now and haven't had any relief. very expensive too.

Thank you guys!
Welcome. 😊

(T=tinnitus)

How are you now
I have been listening to lots of books, podcasts etc in my airpods the last few months.

I have tinnitus after stopping amitriptyline, its been 2 months now , not away yet

The connection between dental infections and tinnitus may not be widely recognized, but it impacts many individuals. It is advisable to consult with your dentist to explore whether your oral health could be a contributing factor to your tinnitus symptoms.

It seems like most audiologists only test to 8k.why is this?
I asked this before it would appear there is no standard test past 8k.
There aren't really many sounds in everyday life at frequencies above that, if I'm not mistaken.
Because it's the range where the daily speaking is. In a daily conversation we use only from 200hz to 6Khz at max
